Standing for Women - NZ tour discussion. (To prevent further derailing of the thread for centring the women)

Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

https://www.youtube.com/live/eDuy2Kx2HlI?feature=share

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

@raspberrywine thank you I hadn’t seen that yet.

nilsmousehammer · 26/03/2023 11:46

The whole 'why do it in an open space and not a venue' thing is a bit disingenuous really. A live example was happening in London yesterday at the Lesbian Project, it's happened repeatedly in the UK.

Women choose a venue. TRAs harass, threaten and bully the venue until the venue surrenders and cancels the booking.
Women don't announce the venue until the last minute. TRAs stalk and follow to get to the venue.
If they manage to get inside the venue, TRAs outside scream and bang the windows to drown out women's voices, release smoke bombs, block all the exits, kettle women, enter the building and actively threaten them...
And the police largely look into the distance and pretend they are not there.

Yes, picking venues makes it much easier for TRAs to bully and control women, I can see why they'd much prefer it.

I shared this on the other thread but it's worth sharing here, too.

The drag queen, who was interviewed at the anti-women protest, assaulted someone. The linked footage shows him smashing someone in the face with his elbow.

Stunning and brave. Just want to pee. Live and let live.

Is that what they mean by stunning and brave?

They like to go round stunning brave pensioners?

Ah trans rights movement protesters ..so inclusive... so tolerant... so peaceful

So that's evidence of three assaults, so far? And how many arrests...?

twitterexile · 26/03/2023 12:19

They always manage to avoid hitting men don't they? Funny that. 🤔

Totally a coincidence. They just haven't met the right man yet.

Is she ok? Does anyone know?

Fucking hell - that takes me back, I’d thought I’d pretty much succeeded in blocking the violence out, but fuck if I can’t hear and feel the bones crunch, and feel the stomach churning sickness as adrenaline dumps and you try so hard to appease or move or grow small. And it’s kinda worse that there are so many people there who just ‘don’t see’ and turn away.

Ive never believed Germaine Greer more than I do today that men really hate us.

About the Australian part of the tour. President of the Australian Jewish Association talking about policing, Nazi and the LWS rally.

thank you for this, it's well worth watching

Dr David Adler is measured and eminently civilised on the subject of neo-Nazis. Someone recent posters who've been very keen on calling others Nazis would do well to watch and emulate

That makes me feel ill

What are people supporting

ArabellaScott · 26/03/2023 13:11

What I find really worrying about this footage?

It doesn't surprise me in the least.

That is what this movement is. Genderism is woman-hatred.

I do wonder what some of the rainbow-brain-washed attendees think, when they see a man violently punch an elderly woman in the face. Do they really think 'right on, we're spreading peace and love, look at the right side of history and rejoice!'

Are they able to rationalise it? Can they really justify violent intimidation, abuse, and assault?

I guess they are - this is what all the 'throat punch a terf' and 'this boot stomps terf' and 'fuck you' and 'decapitate terf' messaging means, after all.

Somehow people have been convinced that just as men can call themselves women and somehow it magically means that they ARE women, the same men can use violent language towards women, and paint it pastel pink and blue, and somehow it really ISNT violent language because trans. And the rationale is that if a woman is a 'terf' then violence is justified.

'Othering' and dehumanisation leads to violence.

I watch that footage and while it's horrific and shocking, it's really just not surprising to me at all.

Helleofabore · 26/03/2023 13:11

Each day it seems more video footage is posted. And it shows the violence and the lack of inhibitions.

And the lack of voices saying this was never acceptable from the media, the government reps at all levels is notably lacking.

Every poster that minimised and scoffed at what women have been saying is part of this

You either support a 70 year old being punched in the face or not

It cannot be denied the dehumanisation of women has led to this.

I now consider the reframing of centring the rights of all female people of any age as ‘anti-trans’ to be misogynistic and contributes to that dehumanisation.

And noticeably media and senior politicians are not making the connection and not ceasing to add to that effect.

That is so vicious!!! Totally unprovoked and smashing two punches straight into her face and another one into her shoulder before someone pulled him off!

I've seen a photo of that woman with a black eye and bruising to her face later on.

Some of the press coverage of this is sickening - "family day out" stuff - "children blowing bubbles" - "short scuffle" - "anti-trans hate" etc.

I don't think they will be able to keep it up as more videos and photos get into circulation.

Plenty of "trans allies" minimising it on Twitter but getting short shrift with their, "it's just a crowd", "she was doing all the pushing" (honestly!), etc.

Not sure if these overhead drone videos have been posted yet:

"HI-DEF: Let Women Speak Tour. Albert Park, Auckland, New Zealand. 25/iii/2023"
The crucial 16 minutes at the rotunda

Shorter clip from that video:

"Overhead view of Rainbow demonstrators attacking Posie Parker and assaulting the crowd"
2mins

It's a wonder KJK and the stewards got out alive.

The same guy has posted videos of the Destiny Church demonstration (the same day?).

Don't know what that is all about but the titles tell a story:

  • Destiny Church Congregation march with Rainbow counter-demonstrators following
  • Police cordon separating Destiny Church Congregation from the Rainbow counter-demonstrators (1)
  • Police cordon separating Destiny Church Congregation from the Rainbow counter-demonstrators (2)
  • Police escort Destiny Church Congregation
Datun · 26/03/2023 13:43

They can't bury these videos.

We know that the anti-women hatred is widespread, and that misogyny is more common than previously imagined. But the Internet emboldens all these men, the transactivists, the incels, the MRAs and the pretend woke hypocrites, to come together in one concentrated group, using gender ideology as cover.

But there are still the vast majority of normal people, men and women, who will be absolutely aghast at this openly accepted crime.

Other countries will also be looking at this and realising that they have a huge problem on their hands in terms of gender ideology.

Plus they will see exactly who is supporting it. Towering men in masks punching pensioners is not going to encourage most politicians to talk about them in terms of equality and trans rights.

Posie Parker knows who she has been dealing with. She has all the receipts.

And now, so does everyone else.

Watching these videos had unsettled me but it all felt very familiar.

Then I remembered how i felt watching all the coverage of when the shit went down in America after Trump whipped his supporters up into a frenzy and incited them to storm the capitol by persuading them they were on the right side of history and had the moral high ground and that violence was an acceptable means to achieve their goal.

This is what the media and politicians and those that spouted the untrue bile have done here. They incited that crowd to think that their behaviour was on the right side of history, and was good and righteous and oh so fucking tolerant and fucking inclusive.

if us lot are on the wrong side of history then I'm quite happy to stay here because you wouldn't get me touching the other side with anybody's bargepole right now.

The Mob at the event can wallow in their self righteous violent trans rights euphoria of beating and assaulting women and treating them like scrum just for wanting to talk to other women about women!

But the rest of the world looks on in abject horror!

Well done!

LittleFingerStrength · 26/03/2023 14:04

I am seeing Christian women in America on Instagram sharing the Australian and NZ footage.

The UK government really has to as requested by Sex matters, speak to other governments about the safety of women travelling there, this is unacceptable.

JuvenileEmu · 26/03/2023 14:19

Skydaze · 25/03/2023 20:18

This is so weird to read about. I'm in NZ, I'm a woman (born, if you really must know) and I don't feel at all silenced. Kiwi women speak all the damn time and we're proud of it. Just because you disagree with what happened yesterday (and I condemn any violence to either group), does not mean women here are silenced and terrified. We're not.

If you / Posie want to help Kiwi women, focus on our meth problem, growing gang violence, and staggering domestic abuse rates. I work in family law and we are absolutely overrun with cases involving poverty, abuse, violence, drug use and crime against women. That is where the focus for women should be. The trans issue - it's smalltime pony tricks compared to where the rapes and assaults are actually happening.

Also - seriously - what is with the evangelical crusades in the name of "free speech" sending every minor celebrity activist to our shores to "educate" us (ie speak for us)? We have our own speakers, thanks, and are more than capable of using our own voices.

The past few days have really been an eye-opener for me. In my somewhat naive ignorance, I had fallen for the narrative of New Zealand being a progressive and even feminist society. But it seems it's a country with very deep problems with misogyny and male violence. It has shocked me to find that this is a country with the highest levels of domestic violence in the OECD. And it seems to be condoned by politicians and the police over there. Very scary.

That.

There was that interesting post yesterday about how women who want equality with men have let their hearts fill with darkness.... <dum dum DAH! Evil chuckle...>

And I thought look, if that's the dark side, bring it on. Because the side of light is a fucking nightmare I want nothing to do with.
