Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

https://www.youtube.com/live/eDuy2Kx2HlI?feature=share

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

Sure it is. Just like calling me "bossy" could be seen as misogynistic. And calling an alternate NZ specific view on a local event "rude" or "disrespectful" could be seen as silencing a woman, and the mild verbal abuse in response is hardly respecting women speaking 'even when you disagree' like you say you do. I am a woman in NZ, I have the view that trans issues are by no means the biggest threat to women's rights or wellbeing in this country, and quite frankly women here are speaking all the time so if you're not hearing it without an event headlining a foreigner (very colonial, that) then that's your issue. I am GC but find the drama online to be out of step with reality on the ground. That's it. l'll leave you all to your day now.

What is it about this that brings out the racists. Jfc All those Maori and Polynesian due to speak, all those crying after this violence… and they’re ‘colonial’ because they don’t just restrict their protests to locally organised ones. Nobody said this is the only fucking thing going.

Coyoacan · 25/03/2023 21:57

@Skydaze

You seem to think you are the only New Zealander who has the right to an opinion.

TheMatriarchy · 25/03/2023 21:57

The GC women I know in NZ were glad that KJK had raised the issue and got our concerns more into the public eye. And its a bonus in a way that the TRA/MRA crowd showed themselves for what they are. Although awful for KJK and the other women there to have to experience.

If the Chilling Effect doesn't concern you, I don't know what can. Freedom of speech and thought is fundamental to every other right, for every other group. Seeing it effectively stripped from women for trying to talk about what we fundamentally are is terrifying.

Delphinium20 · 25/03/2023 22:57

It's chilling how much the violence has escalated. I think it was smart for Posie to go home (terrifying what could have happened) considering she got threats at her hotel.

I'm hoping that future Let Women Speak events will have some kind of enclosed secure space where tickets are free, but only women, children and hired security are allowed in. It's getting too dangerous for the women on the ground. How many women won't show up next time?

Faffertea · 25/03/2023 23:02

Just a little reminder about community disrupters and how much they’d love to get threads like these pulled.

And #istandwithPosieParker appears to be trending on Twitter.

I hope she has come home. It's a miracle yesterday that no women were killed. I've just watched the video of her being escorted out by amazing security and they would have killed her if they'd been able. It's very clear. They were an angry mob, baying for a fight.

New Zealand is a terrifying country for women and children.

'New Zealand is a terrifying country for women and children.'
As per my username, I used to live in NZ but came back to the UK over 10 years ago. When I left there was none of this genderwoo stuff being discussed and John Key was the Prime Minister.
It definitely is a great cause of concern going forward if even the NZ National Party (UK Conservative equivalent)has embraced the gender woo.
I don't think I fancy living there right now. shocking how quickly the genderwoo has taken hold across the democratic western countries.

She didn't need to platform anyone. They are more than capable of holding their own events, of platforming themselves. Likely it would have gone ahead peacefully without her. Once people saw nazi salutes in Melbourne it was game over really. Like it or not, she has become a flashpoint and her presence was a detriment to the message. She shouldn't have come.

Likely?

So you have made assumptions based on what? If the women who were ready to speak today and have been punched, doxxed, pushed to the ground with their children in attendance by a male rubbing his nipples, why do you think they can hold an open rally without the extreme hatred of men who cannot control their emotions and resort to violence silencing that one?

Or do you naively think that they were silenced because of KJK’s presence? And that any other highly publicised similar event would be left unattacked?

it must be nice to think that your priorities of where women cast their attention is the one that all woman should work towards. Rather than just a random opinion on the internet. Based in denying that many woman simply don’t agree.

Ooh I hope JP invites her on his podcast. Rogan too.

timenowplease · 26/03/2023 10:55

Queen.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/03/2023 10:58

That would give many people a fit of the vapours.

SinnerBoy · 26/03/2023 11:03

She still looks as glam as, even covered in tomato puree. I'm heartened to see her positive expression, too.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/03/2023 11:04

She does.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 26/03/2023 11:07

that is an amazing picture

KJK is very photogenic and that is a key strength for her, along with being formidably firm of purpose

humans are a shallow bunch and very visual. I predict that picture is going to see a lot of air time

SinnerBoy · 26/03/2023 11:08

am a woman in NZ, I have the view that trans issues are by no means the biggest threat to women's rights or wellbeing in this country...

It's worth bearing in mind that 48% of transw in prison in the UK are in for rape & other sexual offences, serious assaults against women and girls and for femicides.

That's five times the rate of the usual male population in prison, pro rata.

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2023 11:11

You are free to campaign on what you prioritise.

Women can speak on what they do and should be free from violence as silencing method.

Whaeanui · 26/03/2023 11:14

Middle class women in NZ who would never dream of getting on their knees for men for $20 thought legalising prostitution in NZ was a good idea, look what happened. Increased violence and child sex trafficking.

raspberrywine · 26/03/2023 11:37

Has this been shared here yet?

About the Australian part of the tour. President of the Australian Jewish Association talking about policing, Nazi and the LWS rally.
