Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

https://www.youtube.com/live/eDuy2Kx2HlI?feature=share

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

must be tolerated and chasing people off threads is not allowed.

Still trying to work out what this means. Anybody got a clue?

Nope

no clue

She didn't need to platform anyone. They are more than capable of holding their own events, of platforming themselves. Likely it would have gone ahead peacefully without her. Once people saw nazi salutes in Melbourne it was game over really. Like it or not, she has become a flashpoint and her presence was a detriment to the message. She shouldn't have come.

Women across the world wanted to hear what the NZ women have to say, they wanted her to visit.

Lots of social media influencers have meets like this, they also sell merch, it's a business model. Instead of being interested in make-up, queues fir a SheIn pop up shop, Mrs Hinch and her latest fabric conditioner in a Spring Sent, Kardashians latest product or Taylor Swifts latest song, they want to participate in an event with a social commentator who has an interest in women and children's safeguarding.

oh dear.

One woman gives a microphone to the hordes of women who show up and want to speak. and they are, to a woman, bloody grateful that she did.

You on the other hand, want her to stop.

It's you who is silencing these women. .

I would say there are far more effective ways of raising your voice and being heard than a soapbox in Albert Park with a known controversial speaker who has attracted support from white supremacists (whether Posie endorses that or not) and our version of the fundamentalist religious right aka Brian Tamaki & co.

Great. You go ahead and do those things then. When you do, I will support you.

At the moment, KJK is putting herself on the line for women's and children's rights and I am supporting her.

StephanieSuperpowers · 25/03/2023 20:47

I think the only way to get rid of this pernicious ideology is for women across the world to unite and speak as one. That includes understanding that the struggle for women in one western country is allied with all others. None of our countries invented this nonsense but it's the same across the world.

LittleFingerStrength · 25/03/2023 20:49

I don't think some people understand how these things work.

KJK posted on here once upon a time, she happened to push forward and others backed her. I don't resent her future career once this fight is won she earned it.

Marketing nowadays works like this roughly, there us a problem, someone offers a solution, to fund their salary they sell merchandise, they have meet and greets.

We all want problem solved. KJK never claimed to be the only way we solve the problem, she offers one part of the solution. You don't like KJK , I suggest you do your own problem solving and quit sending the mob after her.

It is. Look at the disgusting and homophobic intimidation of women meeting for the lesbian project tonight.

it's quite mind blowing that in 2023 men are yelling at lesbians because they object to their same-sex attraction, and all in the name of progression.

That is where the focus for women should be

Stop telling other women what they should do. Women are quite good at caring about multiple things at once. You also don’t know what the hell you’re talking about, do you. It’s an event for women, plural, to speak. Not just Posie. Many kiwi women were stopped from speaking at this event. They wanted to go to this event. Who are you to tell them when and how to speak, or who with? Bossy boots

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 20:54

who has attracted support from white supremacists

No she hasn’t. Did you miss them saying they don’t support her? Publicly. Because white suprematists don’t tend to give a fuck about women’s rights. But you know that.

Just because you don’t feel silenced you think you can just dismiss all the kiwi winds who do?

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 20:54

kiwi women

LittleFingerStrength · 25/03/2023 20:58

The better KJK is at her job the quicker she will make herself redundant.

I wish her well in her future career and hope that she is unemployed very soon because that means that we have our rights and safeguarding back.

PronounssheRa · 25/03/2023 21:06

If you / Posie want to help Kiwi women, focus on our meth problem, growing gang violence, and staggering domestic abuse rates. I work in family law and we are absolutely overrun with cases involving poverty, abuse, violence, drug use and crime against women

any women taking the mic at one of let women speak events can talk about any of these issues.

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 21:10

All problems perpetrated by MEN! Go ask the men to fix all their own shit!

Well obviously non of you have thought of anything effective yet given the long list of problems you have listed!

If these activists were any good they would solve the social problems, the same goes for politicians and charities, they don't and it's for the same reason you need to keep buying a whole new phone, not take it in for an occasional upgrade.

Actually isn't that where the interests of the ruling Labour Party should be?

The so-called left has found that following the transgender agenda is a cheap way of looking good, rather than dealing with the social ills the left wing is supposed to care about.

Skydaze · 25/03/2023 21:22

All I'm saying is frothing about TRAs and the threat to your children seems overblown given the sheer scale of the other problems that WILL affect you and yours. It's not the TRAs that make me scared for DD, it's the boys growing up around her in homes where violence, sexual assault, coercion, abuse, trauma, gangs and meth are commonplace. These are the boys she will share far more public space with than bathrooms with the occasional transwoman. These are the men most likely to assault or kill her. If we're worried about women's rights - THIS is the freaking iceberg that sank the titanic.

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 21:22

You are very very welcome to focus on what you see as the priority for women. And other women will identify their own priorities.

Hepwo · 25/03/2023 21:24

Ah, frothing!

Thanks for the advice 😃

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 21:24

@Skydaze I just think it’s fucking rude to jump on a thread about a women’s event that resulted in the organiser and other women being assaulted and harassed, and then give s list of what you think they should be doing instead. It’s also misogynistic.

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 21:27

I won't go into how I feel as a homosexual female about being told I'm 'frothing' about being excluded from LGB resources, harassed and bullied and pushed towards providing straight sex to men who feel entitled to it (while at the same time expressing hatred for women with saggy tits/smelly gashes yada yada, the incel logic is quite staggering)

Or that it's 'frothing' to care about women staying in life threatening relationships because they're excluded from refuges which are full of men who refuse to tolerate some women not being able to access mixed sex spaces. And the women who are now afraid to go for health care because they may encounter a requirement to pretend a male is a woman and submit to a situation they consented only if a female is involved, and the women who cannot go to the loo in their workplace, or go swimming because male desires were put ahead of actual inclusion and equality of access and consideration.

Or the death threats, rape threats, that women reporting hate crimes committed by special members of a particular group are all hand waved away by the police, but women are arrested for and can lose their job for stating biological fact.

'Froth'.

YMMV. To put it mildly.

nilsmousehammer · 25/03/2023 21:28

A lot of the above incidentally, plus more, was what the women would have LIKED to have talked about having been given a platform to speak. To share lived experience.

Men and their handmaidens screamed and spat 'no'.

Boiledbeetle · 25/03/2023 21:31

Ooh frothing....FULL HOUSE on my bingo card.

As you can campaign for your laundry list of social problems and find solutions. You can pick what brand of fabric conditioner you want and which sent as can we as we do over our social issues.

Mrs Hinch and her following don't demand we all buy her latest spring scent, they can meet her, get a signed copy of her book hinch farm and there are no counter protests from people who hate cleaning or hate her spring sent, those people are off doing their own thing.

Women wanted to speak on NZ and we wanted to hear what they had to say, the events caused media and public awareness, the opposite of the advice Dentons. The more the public are aware the quicker this ideology is crushed and a return to safeguarding and our rights. Either you don't know how these things work or you are trying to stop it happening.

And when those boys decide that it's easier to get her alone in a toilet stall in the ladies? so they say they are female to get her alone and vunerable? And don't say they wouldn't, transwomen, or men pretending to be women do it all over the world to get to women, why would new Zealand be any different?
