WOMEN SPEAKING - Let Women Speak - Australia & NZ tour

Despite many pleas, the original thread was hijacked by people (mostly from the UK) who displayed ZERO interest in watching, appreciating and discussing the ACTUAL SPEECHES:

Let Women SPeak - Australia & NZ tour

IMHO This was profoundly disrespectful to the OP, @ZombieMumEB, who said she hoped to attend some of the events, to Mumsnetters (particularly Australians and New Zealanders) who wanted to discuss the speeches and to the brave, articulate and impassioned women who gave the speeches.

This thread is to discuss the WOMEN SPEAKING.

Please direct complaints about KJK to one of the perennial "We hate Posie" threads.

If you are a UK socfem with a genuine interest in discussing the socfem approach to re-educating the Labour Party, ie. rather than complaining about KJK, start a new thread. This one is about and for the women in Australia and New Zealand who spoke at the #LetWomenSpeak events

Rather than engage with derailments, can we please agree to report them or ignore them?

If she had specifically denounced the Nazi goons, this very likely would not have happened

Why are you acting like this is the first time these MRA thugs have turned up at an event to bully and assault women? They've been doing it for years.

Some of their previous excuses for assaulting women are 'woman wanted to watch a film, so I spat on her' and 'woman attended a meeting, so I punched her in the head'.

They turn up to intimidate and assault women for the most ridiculous reasons because they HATE women, Minirrriot. It's as simple as that.

I am not disagreeing with you that they hate women, please read what I said.

Also, not disagreeing that they wouldn't have turned up, again, see what I said.

What I am saying is

  1. If you don't denounce Nazis loudly and clearly and specifically tell them they are not welcome it will mobilise more people. Not doing this angers me, too, to be honest, but the violence they (TRAs) have displayed is of course disgusting.

  2. If they did turn up and she had denounced properly, many more people would be disgusted by this.

  3. Regarding the whole "women are not responsible for what men do/ 1st rule of misogyny" thing - no women are not responsible for what men do but sorry, everyone is responsible for denouncing Nazis properly - as in telling them they are not welcome and you don't need their support. If you can't bring yourself to do that, I certainly can't support you and I will suspect you are either courting controversy, or don't think they (Nazi scum) are really all that bad.

Redbird87 · 25/03/2023 04:00

Could we have a separate thread for infighting?

I hope, also, that some of you now understand that the lefty women (who know a think or two about campaigning, fascists and antifa) have not been criticising KJK because we're jealous, but because we feared exactly this would happen.

These things or two you know about campaigning, fascists and antifa would then mean that you knew exactly what you were doing when you started the ugly slurs and lies that Kellie-Jay ever had any kind of “alignment” with far right groups.

When the lies about the heritage foundation died down you started on the HoO lies.
When that was about to die down you made sure to reignite them.

Handing men’s rights activists a handy weapon to use against all GC women. When men doing Nazi salutes turned up at an event, oddly supported by police, you cranked the accusations up another 100 notches.

and here we now are. Auckland this evening. And you have the nerve to claim you were warning about this, that you feared this would happen? You have been doing your stupid best to create this situation, undoubtedly without predicting how brutal it would get. Because you don’t actually know anything about “fascists and antifa”. You also don’t understand that ince you unleash something, you cannot control what an angry mob will do with it. You cannot put that genie back in the bottle.

You set this chain of events in motion. I suspect that is the reason so many AGCL people are out tonight, victim blaming left right and centre.

Well said. They won't see it though. They act like TRAs do in many ways.

Incredible that the Mayor of Wellington wants even more protests.

Thank you, @SinnerBoy I was thoroughly confused. I thought KJK dealt with the accusations with exactly the weight they deserved. They were ridiculous and didn't deserve anyone's time or attention.

Of course, I'm guessing now, had she repeated herself or tried to make things crystal clear she would now be accused of protesting too much.

Thank you to all pps who linked to twitter letting us know how everyone was doing. I also read that at least two women were punched with one at hospital. I hope they are both home safe now.

Are you seriously suggestion KJK wanted to be assaulted? How about the 70 year old woman with a black eye did she want it too?

I think you need to look up the phrase, "victim blaming"

And I have been hearing from NZ people I know through completely unrelated things to this, rugby fans, guys who have no clue about any of this at all and you know what? They see right through the media lies. One just said, why is everyone celebrating violence against this woman?

I also heard that someone doxxed one of the women in the Maori group on YT, with Rex, they doxxed her and she’s having to leave her home.

SinnerBoy · 25/03/2023 05:38

@LesNot

I'm just sick to the back teeth of that particular poster posting the same rubbish, over and over on so many threads! I've already called them out and they don't deign to reply, for some reason.

They don't seem to like interaction, just preaching.

SinnerBoy · 25/03/2023 05:43

@Whaeanui

Thank you for another informative post. Like many (I suspect) British posters, I know next to nothing about your people's travails over land rights.

It's horrible to read about your compadre being blinded and others being spat on, abused and doxxed.

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 05:46

This is Ani O’Brien who was going to speak, lots of footage of what happened from different angles is on her Twitter here. They literally surrounded Posie and her team, it’s horrendous and they’re celebrating!

don’t forget the guy who organised the violent mob works for NZ Herald- a right wing media outlet

The Green Party there used to be amazing, my friend was an MP for them when their focus was environmental. Now their focus is trans issues and anything to stay relevant. They are ineffective and pointless. This is what they do now

I suppose you also think that if a woman is out walking at night alone, she needs to loudly and clearly and specifically tell men that she shouldn't be raped?

Or perhaps you think a women needs to lock herself up and not venture out at night, alone?

You are thinking like a man. Women are speaking up - you need to actually listen to women, not to your inner voice of misogyny.

BethDuttonsTwin · 25/03/2023 06:41

gwrachod · 25/03/2023 00:40

It's not a theory - it's playing out in front of our eyes.

Anyway. I really am off now. You lot are like arguing with TRAs. You aren't arguing in good faith. You will twist anything, justify or hand wave away anything - even the far right and the ridiculously risky situations KJK is leading women into - so as to keep on believing in KJK.

It's fucking depressing.

Yes. if I had contributed to the “Far Right” smears and knew that I held some responsibility for this dreadful outcome and women being terrorised, I’d be trying to get ahead of it too, by pretending that I had only been warning of this very outcome. I’d likely disappear when challenged rigorously on that disingenuous claim too. No surprises here.

I am a woman in New Zealand and I’m perfectly happy for @gwrachod to speak. Her argument is cogent, her comments are germane, and unlike you she is actually contributing to the discussion.

Kindly take your own advice.

BethDuttonsTwin · 25/03/2023 06:46

IwantToRetire · 25/03/2023 00:49

Lets be absolutely clear about how this started.

With all due respect for KJK (and even more so tonight) she could have spent years doing smallish open events for women. And probably gained (quite rightly) a lot of praise for helping women speak out.

But until AND ONLY THEN that left "feminists" started berating her on social media and their web sites, assuming they had the right to school her thinking, did a larger group of people, not just TRAs but the infantile male left that is all about performance and not substance, start to take notice.

And what did the left "feminists" do to get these misogynists' attention? The crass use of the smear nazi. Based on nothing more than the fact KJK didn't kowtow to their self presumed superiority.

And they have not relented.

So effectively this small group of dispicably women have wound up and let lose violent men to silence a woman then dont approve of.

But what is also alarming is how quickly the msm of all political persuasion has fallen in line with this.

If ever you wanted the lived experience of how mass hysteria happens, and logic and social mutuality flies out of the window, we have just witnessed it. And have been hurt and stopped from speaking.

Yes the men are the ones perpetrating the violence, but they have done so under the cloak of political correctness handed to them by the nasty, underhand, cowardly, political failures that are the women who set this in motion.

As I said at the start, this is not to diminish what KJK had done for women, but as we know if her work had just continued to empower women, the msm media would have ignored her.

So the socilists "feminists" fed the media the red meat of controversy.

They are antifa's Aunt Lydia's ultimately prioritising pleasing the male left.

Bang on!
