Despite many pleas, the original thread was hijacked by people (mostly from the UK) who displayed ZERO interest in watching, appreciating and discussing the ACTUAL SPEECHES:

IMHO This was profoundly disrespectful to the OP, @ZombieMumEB, who said she hoped to attend some of the events, to Mumsnetters (particularly Australians and New Zealanders) who wanted to discuss the speeches and to the brave, articulate and impassioned women who gave the speeches.

This thread is to discuss the WOMEN SPEAKING.

Please direct complaints about KJK to one of the perennial "We hate Posie" threads.

If you are a UK socfem with a genuine interest in discussing the socfem approach to re-educating the Labour Party, ie. rather than complaining about KJK, start a new thread. This one is about and for the women in Australia and New Zealand who spoke at the #LetWomenSpeak events

This is such a good point. I've seen several reports that legalising prostitution resulted in more sexual assaults and harm to women in general, not just prostitutes, in those regions

I've seen for myself that when men excuse sex-buying, it affects their attitude to women in general. Commoditising women doesn't lead you to respect them!

But I'm sure our offical supposed left-wing feminists want to believe NZ was a utopian paradise before KJK passed through the airport. I expect she imported the violent male trans activists in her luggage from the UK too.

Lets be absolutely clear about how this started.

With all due respect for KJK (and even more so tonight) she could have spent years doing smallish open events for women. And probably gained (quite rightly) a lot of praise for helping women speak out.

But until AND ONLY THEN that left "feminists" started berating her on social media and their web sites, assuming they had the right to school her thinking, did a larger group of people, not just TRAs but the infantile male left that is all about performance and not substance, start to take notice.

And what did the left "feminists" do to get these misogynists' attention? The crass use of the smear nazi. Based on nothing more than the fact KJK didn't kowtow to their self presumed superiority.

And they have not relented.

So effectively this small group of dispicably women have wound up and let lose violent men to silence a woman then dont approve of.

But what is also alarming is how quickly the msm of all political persuasion has fallen in line with this.

If ever you wanted the lived experience of how mass hysteria happens, and logic and social mutuality flies out of the window, we have just witnessed it. And have been hurt and stopped from speaking.

Yes the men are the ones perpetrating the violence, but they have done so under the cloak of political correctness handed to them by the nasty, underhand, cowardly, political failures that are the women who set this in motion.

As I said at the start, this is not to diminish what KJK had done for women, but as we know if her work had just continued to empower women, the msm media would have ignored her.

So the socilists "feminists" fed the media the red meat of controversy.

If they were the skilled players you portray them as then I would expect them to understand how dangerous propaganda can be. The Nazis you talk so much about deployed it very effectively, I hope we can agree it lead to one of the world's worst atrocities.

The Australian press have been dialing down the Nazi rhetoric, making it clear that they were neither invited by or associated with SFW, since it became clear that hardly anyone was buying it but you continue to insist KJK's is at fault for them turning up. You need to stop, its irresponsible.

I wrote this yesterday, it's a paraphrase of what several of us have been saying for months:

if you don't make it very clear that the far right aren't welcome, if you go on their media, make them feel welcome, they will turn up. They will turn up especially as many of them like a bit of recreational violence, and to fight with the TRAs. And when that happens, that's all the media will focus on.

We're at that stage now.

The next stage is more Antifa come to fight the fash. More men who like recreational violence (on both sides) hear about it, and come along too. Before too long, the whole thing becomes a fight between far right and Antifa men, the press love reporting it it - and KJK's femalism implodes, but not before doing a load of damage to the women's rights movement.

KJK could take steps to stop this happening, like not cosying up to the far right all the fucking time. Her nazi "denouncement" isn't easy to take seriously when she's hanging out with a woman from the Oz version of the UKIP, immediately after.

We've moved on a phase since yesterday, we're now at "The next stage is more Antifa come to fight the fash". The huge swell of people there will have been mobilised in such huge numbers to fight fascism, as they perceive it.

And the media are interested - not in what the women are saying, but in catching some violence on camera, as that's worth clicks (and money). Did you see how many people with professional looking cameras were there today?

You lot can argue to the cows come home about whether KJK has been courting the far right or not, ask questions designed to deflect, such as "what is the far right anyway" and carry on taking the piss out of those who raise this as a concern. But out there in the real world, it looks a lot like KJK's courting the far right - because of her actual behaviour, besides any spin - and that the neo nazis turned up to support her as a result.

And, the consequence is that the temperature rises, the message is lost, violence increases and the media fucking love it, and amplify it. That's the next stage.

No, I am not blaming KJK for men's violence before any of you start. That doesn't mean that this wasn't predictable. There are much more savvy ways to go about things, that don't end up with huge angry mobs coming after you because they've seen what looks like proof you're in with the fascists.

Those of us who've been banging on about this for ages are saying this as we know KJK's courting of the far right will trigger those who want to fight fascism to turn out. And, also we've seen men's recreational violence take over in other movements and other times. For the 1,000th time, jealousy has fuck all to do with it.

Well this latest awful development really isn't a surprise. If she had specifically denounced the Nazi goons, this very likely would not have happened. As someone else said, fascism does tend to mobilise people - you have to distance yourself loud and clear from it.

And if it had happened anyway - she would be much more likely to have the media and public on her side. No one likes a fascist enabler, or someone who appears to be one because they are too stubborn to simply say "Nazis are not welcome at my events."

This outcome is awful but to be honest it's not surprising. And no lessons will be learned. She handed the TRAs an excuse to attack her while not looking like the violent bullies they are. Now they look like hero's fighting Nazis. Great, yay what an achievement.
