As will all these media reports of KJK comments are turned off. Wonder why. No I don't.

You couldn't make it up - except mainstream Aus and NZ media are.

@Minirrriot
I think KJK should just make it really, really clear they are not bloody welcome. They do tend not to turn up when that message is sent loud and clear .

Go on then. Type up a statement that she can use to stop them from turning up. You seem to have the answer so share it.

Okay, sure. It's not difficult. She could say something such as this....

"While I strongly believe in free speech and cannot stop anyone from legally and peacefully assembling in a public space, I'd like to make it crystal clear that I do not welcome the support of those who hold Nazi beliefs at my events. Nazi ideology is abhorrent and gender critical women and their allies do not want or need the support of those who sympathise with it- you are certainly not welcome at Let Women Speak events."

You'll find that if she does this, they likely won't bother turning up. And if they do, no one will be able to credibly claim she is encouraging them.

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 17:58

She said that she abhors nazis.

Pixiedust1234 · 22/03/2023 18:03

@Minirrriot 😂😂😂

I wonder if that will work on you...🤔

raspberrywine · 22/03/2023 18:04

All this media hoopla to try to discredit her. They must be really scared of her and other women saying it as it is to go these lengths.

raspberrywine · 22/03/2023 18:06

The violence, if it happens, will be as a result of the irresponsible media whipping everyone (read: TRA ) into a frenzy.

clearly a gestural dog whistle denying trans peoples existence

Fallangie · 22/03/2023 18:12

How can one denounce more specifically than saying 'they are nothing to do with me'?

I'm surprised she hasn't put out an official statement through the Standing For Women social media channels.

landOFconfusion · 22/03/2023 18:18

It is really interesting to watch certain people here amplifying a symbol that has been adopted by neo-nazi groups.

History would have been so very different if only you'd been around to advise Poland in 1939.

A symbol that only neo Nazis would recognise as anything other than a generally recognised symbol of 'okayness'?

Doesn't that make you, a neo nazi?

She has denounced them publicly in Australian media.

Will that be enough for future reference?

By the way, if you are not expecting Neo-nazis and are completely unaware of the National Socialist Network, or any other future group, why would you make a statement?

And can you please explain how that has worked with ANTIFA and extreme trans activist groups in the past?

Do you think that women's organisations have just not be direct enough? Do they have to name each group to make that work?

when was it adopted by the Neo-nazi groups? Did you tell us, or did I miss it?

Because, if it has been adopted by a group, does that mean everyone should know this who have used it for decades and decades? Or does that mean that everyone should stop using it?

Because if that is the case, did everyone stop using 'queer'?

AlexandriasWindmill · 22/03/2023 18:32

What I love is that their nonsense is bringing KJK and the issues to a much wider audience. Front page coverage in Australia. The more people know about this; the quicker the bullshit stops.

flyingbuttress43 · 22/03/2023 18:34

I think LandOFconfusion has chosen a really accurate user name.

So if neo nazi groups adopt waving as the new symbol of the far right I can’t wave anymore?

gotcha

makes perfect sense

Do you honestly believe this?

I am sorry, but do you honestly think this would stop any group who wishes to protest?

And make no mistake, the National Socialist Network were protesting on Saturday for their very own unique agenda.

And have you missed the claims for months and months, years maybe that she is a nazi?

I have had that screamed at me while standing there hand in hand with other women in a circle to allow women to speak. Do you understand that it doesn't matter what she said or what she didn't say? She has been called a nazi and encouraging nazi's BEFORE the National Socialist Network turned up .

I would have thought that any sane person wanting to distance themself from neo-nazis would take care to avoid using symbols adopted by neo-nazis.

It’s very engrained into culture as meaning ok though.

Most people just see it as that.
