As will all these media reports of KJK comments are turned off. Wonder why. No I don't.

You couldn't make it up - except mainstream Aus and NZ media are.

Welcome, whaeanui and thank you for your informative posts.

DameMaud · 24/03/2023 10:42

Yes, thank you whaeanui.
Will be watching what happens in NZ with interest and with your words in mind

Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 10:44

@IcakethereforeIam thank you. Oh this board always has been a source of light hearted mess amongst the frustrations, I always read it even when not a member. Yes my friend transed her very small young sweet female child, who was taken from her at a young age, came back in her teens only to be left alone in her mums communal living house arrangement with all kinds of strangers while mum was at work, she was 13 & 14. She’s always I think tried to impress her very alternative successful mum who never had time for her. I was not surprised when I heard she was trans. Puberty blockers were easy to get. Theyre still so petite I actually worry about them around boys.

( I don’t know about rules around pronouns atm, I used female for when she was happily a girl and they for post trans MN Mods! )

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 24/03/2023 10:45

So

i dont like the gifs….ive got moving adverts on the right of my screeen, moving adds in the middle of the thread and niw moving gifs every two seconds

BUT

if its amusing people that’s absolutely fine, if its not derailing a serious thread then thats also fine and if people want to do serious erudte posts (bah ha ha 😀) then they should start their own threads and request no gifs….not appear on someone else’s thread and decide how the thread should be conducted

and obviously the whole OK thing is so fucking stupid that no wonder the thread has gone to the joke side

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 24/03/2023 10:45

Now…see my typing has gone even more to pot

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 24/03/2023 10:56

@Whaeanui really informative posts and well done on your complaint getting results, even if the rude gits didn’t acknowledge it

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 24/03/2023 11:22

If only OP had told the GIFs that she wasn’t aligned or affiliated with them and they should stay away. Then, as asked, they would not show up on the thread.

🤣

Yeah...But no......

There's been so many KJK threads that I'm going crossed-eyed.

I am looking for the interview where KJK kept getting interrupted or at least that was what the poster said. Which thread is it on please and at roughly what time was it posted?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2023 14:48

To be fair I did post a gif that made me feel like I was suffocating and hypnotised and on the brink of something awful.

That one was nightmare inducing!

ArabellaScott · 24/03/2023 15:03

Whaeanui that's really useful insight, thank you. Especially for those of us in the UK with little idea of NZ politics and media.

I hadn't actually thought about how disorientating gifs might be, I'll try and avoid ones that are dizzy-making in future.

Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 15:17

You’re welcome @ArabellaScott I appreciate your contributions here. Yes the image of even Jacinda is a false one, nobody talks about the racist Labour policies of the ‘70’s ( dawn raids of Pacific Islanders ) and how she wanted to give police powers to search marae ( and anywhere ) with similar policies during covid.

@raspberrywine do you mean the one by the awful, blatantly hostile woman on the NZ equivalent of BBC?

Welcome back Mumsnet @Whaeanui and thanks for your valuable insights. Do you know what time the LWS event is due to start in Wellington please. You're 13 hours ahead of us there so I think it's around 10 pm tonight for us.

Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 15:36

I’m currently in UK, so not sure on times.

FYI the RNZ interview is with Kim Hill, known as very rude interviewer, a bit like marmite in nz, hated and loved.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/03/2023 16:14

She's just appalling!

Found the info - Auckland 10 pm tonight UK time, 11am Saturday in NZ

New Zealand Newshub blurs out KJK's "Nazi" (allegedly) hand movement
Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 17:03

The herald have posted this stupid article this morning:
https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/posie-parker-anti-trans-activist-kellie-jay-keen-minshull-arrives-in-auckland/WXXQYDUCMRAFNL2N6V6LCWLJRE/

I have used their complaints process to make a complaint for inaccuracy and bias.

_

Inaccuracy- you and other NZ Media are continuing to call her an ‘anti-trans activist’ despite the fact she campaigns about actual legal protections specifically for women in both the UK & NZ. They are written into law, therefore campaigning to protect what are classified as women’s rights, is not anti-trans. World Athletics is the latest sports body to implement new rules which align with what ‘Posie Parker’ campaigns for regarding sports. Biased- you say a lot about this woman and make a lot of accusations and claims but you have zero supporting evidence, in fact you do not actually say anything here about what she actually believes. Not one word about her message or arguments. You and other NZ Media are simply repeating ‘she’s a nazi’ ‘she’s anti-trans’ without showing any evidence at all. It’s a smear campaign. Her beliefs are actually written into law in the UK and some are in NZ also. You should be stating what she believes so readers can clearly see if your accusations, and that of her opposers who you are giving a lot of space to, are fair. You are making her responsible for the actions of men, the Nazis who turned up to an event in Australia. The only way you get away with making her responsible for that is by referring to her as anti-trans instead of what she actually is, a women’s rights campaigner- rights that exist in law. You say she is associated with Nazis but you haven’t published any of her statements completely disassociating and denouncing Nazism. This is completely misrepresenting her and withholding relevant information to this story. It’s not just about what you include in your coverage, but what you deliberately exclude.
I am appalled at the bias and dishonourable way The Herald among others, have covered this women’s position and her events. Events where woman after woman gets up to speak about how these laws affect her, their life stories, many with tragic painful experiences to share, and their opinions. You should be covering that, what is actually said and what these women share so bravely.  It is truly offensive and deeply misogynistic to treat the women that attend her events with such contempt. You are also smearing them at the same time.

'We've already been threatened': British anti-trans activist Posie Parker arrives in NZ

No protesters were at Auckland Airport to greet the controversial activist.

IcakethereforeIam · 24/03/2023 17:16

@Whaeanui that's brilliant. They should be ashamed.

Bovril2000 · 24/03/2023 17:20

Complete nonsense. I hope she sues and if she does she will easily crowd fund the legal fees.

They are really clutching at straws now, it's a sign of desperation which means finally the tables are turning..... Keep on fighting KJK!!!

FOJN · 24/03/2023 17:23

The Heard article is a bit nuts but I do appreciate it when they do the work for us...

Keen-Minshull, who is here for her Let Women Speak tour, has faced criticism from the LQBTQ+ community, politicians, and other social commentators for her assertion people could not change their sex.

I notice they name no names because who the hell wants their name to be associated with the claim that humans can changes sex.

I thought it was also notable that they made so much of her need for security and that the police had already been in touch to provide contact details for her but then said she was dangerous and the LGBTQ community of NZ felt unsafe.

I sometimes wonder if the writers screw their eyes up when they type, trying to convince themselves that we won't see the very obvious contradictions.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/03/2023 17:27

@Whaeanui thanks! The interview on her arrival at the. airport was heavily edited but she got a few zingers in thrre!

FOJN · 24/03/2023 17:38

Whaeanui

Thanks for challenging the Herald, it will interesting to see the response you get, if any.

I laughed when I first saw the Newshub item and had to watch a few more of their clips on different topics just to be sure they weren't a spoof news site. They may have corrected it now but they'll be satisfied that their original nonsense has been viewed by many people. It's a disgraceful ways for a news channel to behave; post crap and then change it later.

Please tell me they are not well respected.

Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 17:54

Not respected but not thought of as a place that would peddle lies, their news is believed in general. A lot of NZers think questioning media or government is being a conspiracy theorist.
