As will all these media reports of KJK comments are turned off. Wonder why. No I don't.

You couldn't make it up - except mainstream Aus and NZ media are.

TRAs. Not a brain cell between them.

I'm starting to realise how true this is. Primary children are more intelligent than they are. Perhaps our regular posters should cry to MNHQ as I found this emogi 👌

Hahah!!!

👌👌👌

That's very funny. I hope Justine is suitably chastised.

Lord above. I've never seen such wankery.

It's one thing Australia, who are still at the foothills of the entire issue, but our home grown transactivists?

Top class, mince dense twattery.

And so clueless, they don't even realise.

Not only are they doing it with their hands, look at their arms and legs!😮😮

send in the SWAT!

AlisonDonut · 22/03/2023 14:11

I've been and cancelled my yoga class tonight. I can't believe I've been hoodwinked by White Pride into supporting them for so long.

Namaste.

You know when you call it the "okay hand gesture" you are including everything needed to refute your absurd smear in with your smear?
You identify it correctly as the OK hand gesture, and go on to accuse KJK of malign intent in using it.
And after all that you included a link to further discredit yourself that explains that 4chan was trolling people like you by trying to convice them it was a white supremacist gesture for shits and giggles.

Your post literally reads:
I know it's not true but,
Attempt to smear against KJK,
Here's a link to prove it's not true,

Is this really, really, really the best you've got? Nothing else in the bag? Not even if you dig deep in the corners where all the fluff and lint has collected?

flyingbuttress43 · 22/03/2023 14:22

I've been watching a lot of Australian and NZ media and I can't find one mainstream channel that doesn't describe KJK as "anti trans" except Fox of course. You'd think they have never watched any of her speeches, videos etc. where her message is always "women's rights". That sentence was sarcasm by the way because it is obvious these media twerps do no research whatsoever.

Particularly given the final sentence of the article provided by IandOF, which reads -

'Because of the traditional meaning of the “okay” hand gesture, as well as other usages unrelated to white supremacy, particular care must be taken not to jump to conclusions about the intent behind someone who has used the gesture.'

Don't know who this man is but he's doing a better job than most of the Aussie media here

Especially...when they didn't even use the gesture.

I think this (the whole okay hand signal accusation) is clearly nonsense but regarding the continual Nazi smears, I think KJK should just make it really, really clear they are not bloody welcome. They do tend not to turn up when that message is sent loud and clear - of course not always, if they want to have a ruck with antifa but much more likely not to bother if she has basically told 'em direct, don't bother coming.

No, she isn't responsible for them turning up, no she didn't create them and no she shouldn't have to but there it is. I know she has denounced Nazis previously but has she expressely said don't bother coming, I don't need or want your support? If not, I think that yes, she should say this or something similar to this, while I do agree you need to work with people from all sides - there is also a limit, you wouldn't (or shouldn't) bloody work with Nazis, the Taliban etc...

Maybe make a statement in one of her videos before a planned tour saying no Nazis need bother or something? Just a suggestion, they don't turn up anywhere (other women's groups/ events about this issue), and yeah those people are nowhere near as effective but these accusations are seriously getting out of hand and need to be nipped in the bud.

Which can happen if she does denounce more specifically in a way that sends the message "don't bother turning up". Honestly, if she doesn't want to do this, then her choice but yeah, that does get me wondering. Not that she's a Nazi but that she's purposely courting controversy with no thought to the consequences. That's dangerous and really won't help the issue or the situation. Or KJK.

Rufus! I was joking. I always had a soft spot for Shaggy.

Shaggy and scooby are the best

if anyone is a nazi its Fred 😒

just sayin’

(its the ascot…deeply suspicious)

IcakethereforeIam · 22/03/2023 16:35

Fred....! The blond hair....the dot eyes.....

How can one denounce more specifically than saying 'they are nothing to do with me'?

'They are nothing to do with me <does a little dance>?

'They are nothing to do with me <throws a bath bomb into the hotel bath>?

It is amazing what shit it thrown at women who just want to speak isn't it?

Not only do they have to say 'those other people are nothing to do with me' they have to do it ONCE MORE WITH FEELING. Otherwise they must be courting trouble.

Exactly!!!!!

nepeta · 22/03/2023 16:49

I had to look up that hand gesture! It's exactly the same as people in my life have used for years to express that something is THIS small and then showing it by having no space between the touching thumb and forefinger. Also in something like "just right!" and then pinching the same two fingers together.

These debates really should be kept more rational by journalists, but when religion is at stake rationality is expelled, I presume. Funny to think that authoritarian religious thinking is now governing practically everywhere. If it's not actual religion as in Islam or Hinduism, it's this new weird religion or Putin-worship etc.

nepeta · 22/03/2023 16:53

I would also like a clear definition of 'anti-trans'. Does it mean saying or doing anything that is not simply agreeing to even the most outrageous demands of the most fervent trans rights activists (the really extreme ones online)?

Does it matter if the rights asked for come from other people's rights or if they are actually privileges nobody else has?

Signalbox · 22/03/2023 16:59

Pretty much.

ApocalipstickNow · 22/03/2023 17:00

It’s clearly that thing where if you do it below waist level and make someone look you can punch them in the arm.

WHICH IS LITERAL VIOLENCE!

so don’t look! Any school kid knows this.

Signalbox · 22/03/2023 17:01

Suggesting that there is a conflict of rights or that trans people already benefit from the same human rights as everyone else would definitely be considered to be transphobic.

DemiColon · 22/03/2023 17:13

I mean, I suppose she could say - I would rather not have any other organized groups attend? Individuals of any stripe are welcome to talk about the topic at hand?

But I'm not sure that they would be inclined to listen, it seems to me they are looking to take advantage of the publicity they get being there.

I also think that if the media is that determined to push their narrative, they will do it no matter who turns up.

Which may be counter-productive long term. I have a friend in the US who was completely turned off the media because she went to a political rally in her city which the media presented in a dishonest way. She realized that had she not been there, she would have totally believed the whole thing and she was quite upset by the realization that it had to be deliberate.

So this shit works for a while but when it starts to fail it really turns people off.

FOJN · 22/03/2023 17:16

It's hard to preemptively denounce a group of people you don't even know exist.

Who would have thought that a city with so many antifa would have a Nazi problem?

The "controversy" has been stirred up by the media, perhaps they could report more responsibly.

Or maybe we should just carry on blaming a woman.

AlisonDonut · 22/03/2023 17:24

I mean, I suppose she could say - I would rather not have any other organized groups attend

She could say that. But would be accused of denying them the right to free speech.

Whatever she said she would be accused of something bad. Which is why she gets the necessary approval and just turns up. She follows the rules as laid down.
