I can’t believe the misogyny and hostility towards women.

A drop kick is also slang for a dickhead/a tosser.

And there is no fucking way Mishy is Australian or understands anything about Australia.

JacquelinePot · 22/03/2023 11:21

That still doesn't make sense! Women who know what sex is are a banned aussie football move? Is there a colloquial use of the word?

Jujuj · 22/03/2023 11:22

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:15

I'm sorry, I genuinely don't understand what you're saying here. Have you missed a word out? Or are you responding to someone else?

I did, sorry! Working whilst responding and didn’t proof read before I posted

What I mean is - feminists aren’t one single group with perfectly aligned views, and there seems to be a tendency on here to think any argument against your worldview is misogynist or from TRAs.

The comment about leaders and published feminists was referring to other posters comment.

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:22

I do hope all these posters here are going to be seeking out the nazi men's forum and telling them off for their behaviour.

Or is it just about telling off feminists because some other feminist on the other side of the world failed to expel the nazis from a women's rights meeting. I've yet to hear how a group of women would actually do this, tbh. The police allowed these men to march about with impunity. What was a group of middle aged women supposed to do? Attack them with T shirts?

TERDs? TERDs?! 😂Wow, isn't he grown up and clever? Except that's not actually how you spell it, it's 'turd'.

I'm not really familiar with the term 'dropkick' so just just looked it up (sorry if someone already said it, all the early replies to dear Mish made the thread unreadable).

A dropkick is an attacking maneuver in professional wrestling. It is defined as an attack where the wrestler jumps up and kicks the opponent with the soles of both feet

In which case I'm really not even sure what message that guy is actually trying to communicate.

Now that takes me back. Dropkick! I think it is apt.

JacquelinePot · 22/03/2023 11:22

Thanks Only, that's the bit I was missing. I knew it wouldn't be nice!

Lovely behaviour especially in the context of his role and where he was speaking.

You should join the National Socialists. You have similar national supremacy tendencies.

Okay. Yes, I agree that feminism is an enormously broad church.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 22/03/2023 11:23

Can I just check if the guilt by association thing goes for those women standing with men who send death threats, say women should be raped with baseball bats, hold up signs saying ‘decapitate TERFS’, force their way into women's refuges and women’s rape survivors support groups and think rainbow dildo butt monkey was nothing to worry about

or does guilt by association only go one way?

The issue is that they turned up in the first place because they liked what the speakers were saying. And as a feminist I don’t want any association with neo nazis.

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:25

Who made you the spokes' person for all trans people?
I've never claimed to be.

sanluca · 22/03/2023 11:25

They turned up at a rally speaking about trans issues (yes, yes, women's issues before anyone fixates on my wording) and they share the same viewpoint as those speaking against trans people.

So talking about womens issues is speaking against trans people.... right.

Women can never win. Womens rights = anti trans. Neo nazis turning up at a rally for womens issues being picketed by transactivists, neo nazis are against the transactivists = women are neo nazis.

Seriously?

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:25

No, I don't like nazis either. But how would you get rid of them, realistically, if they decided to storm a meeting? The police allowed them to march about, from what I can see.

Helleofabore · 22/03/2023 11:26

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 22/03/2023 11:21

The fact they keep avoiding answering by disappearing makes this pretty clear.

Maybe they watched Neighbours or Home and Away? I would hope it is more than that. But they keep making broad cultural statements about Australia and it is getting pretty offensive because it misuses phrases or doesn't reflect the broader thinking at all.

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:26

Jujuj · 22/03/2023 11:24

Exactly. They turned up agreeing with the views being expressed

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:26

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:26

So ... you think the women should not speak about women's rights in case nazis agree?

You might be over-thinking this 😉

He needed something starting with 'D' to get TERD. Dickhead doesn't really work for women - because he knows what a woman is when he is insulting them. Dropkick conveys both something you want to send far away and - as @OnlyTheWeedsGrow says - a general insult.

If you are wanting a carefully honed metaphor, you're looking at the wrong politician.

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:28

Well, I don't really understand the 'dropkick' thing, either. He's implying he wants to 'dropkick' women he disagrees with? That's not very nice.

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:28

Neo nazis turning up at a rally for womens issues being picketed by transactivists, neo nazis are against the transactivists = women are neo nazis.

Seriously?

No, of course not, but you do realise some women could be too, right?! They're not just all big blokes with shaved heads and tattoos you know....

Jujuj · 22/03/2023 11:24

Even if that's correct, what you are saying just makes you irrational. That's fine, but other people shouldn't want to share your irrational position.

ArabellaScott · 22/03/2023 11:29

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:28

Who are you saying is a neo nazi, or is this just a vague accusation?

PSNonsense · 22/03/2023 11:30

So.. if you display a view, and a person who holds other views on something else that you completely disagree with, also displays that view, it makes you the same as them?! Is that the argument here?

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 22/03/2023 11:30

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:26

Exactly. They turned up agreeing with the views being expressed

FFS, you think Neo-Nazis turned up because they agree with Women’s Rights activists? No Neo-Nazi has ever agreed with allowing women to speak. Serious comprehension fails here.

NotBadConsidering · 22/03/2023 11:30

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:26

Exactly. They turned up agreeing with the views being expressed

Agreeing with which views being expressed? The views expressed by women in their speeches or the views expressed by the trans activists trying to silence women? Because the only thing they made 100% clear was they were a) Nazis b) anti paedophile and c) able to express a and b with impunity by the police.

How do you know they didn’t turn up because they saw an opportunity to both ruin women’s day and wind up TRAs?

How is it the responsibility of women they turned up out of the blue?

Helleofabore · 22/03/2023 11:31

CremeEggQueen · 22/03/2023 11:25

Who made you the spokes' person for all trans people?
I've never claimed to be.

Yet you have declared that me believing males cannot be women is somehow me not supporting trans rights.

You seem to only be able to take a polarised view of the world.

I support trans rights. You can ask the other posters, but from what I have seen they are likely to support trans rights.

Yet you are here defining trans rights to your political agenda only. Hence you may not be 'claiming' to be, but you are in essence positioning your own political agenda as being a blanket agenda for all trans people.

Maybe if you don't see that, that is why you also cannot see that you have merely read misinformation and seem to be unable to evidence it but has continuously doubled down.

Because you have a deeply entrenched prejudice about people who disagree with you. You have a polarised view of this political topic.
