I’m sorry but this gives me the rage. All these politicians pretending that ‘oh. I hadn’t thought of that. Only just heard about it to be honest! I’m a bit blind-sided. I’ll look into it’.

Their defense is effectively. ‘Oh sorry, I’m really incompetent! I’ve never bothered considering the implications of the policies and laws my government pushes through! Was I meant to? That’s part of my job? Really? Oh I never realized that!!! Oh, and you say lots of women said this would happen if I pushed those policies and laws through? Oh, I never listened to them, they’re just women. And some of them were middle aged or even older. It never occurred to me they were worth listening to, tbh. And it certainly never crossed my mind that was part of my job. Like I say, I’m incompetent so I never think anything through really, so you can’t blame me if these things happen!’

Stop the faux surprise and innocence you lying fucking tosser. I’ve really lost my patience with these utter arseholes.

It will be the exact same when the HSE ends up spending millions on settlements to pediatric transitions. All the politicans will claim ignorance and call it a scandal and blame someone else

This pretty much summarises what I'd like to send to every politician and leadership of services and agencies. There will be a few who'll try to say "well yes I knew, but it would have made me unpopular to have insisted we did things ethically or by policy, or did actual safeguarding.... well, yes, I get paid the money to do the job and take the flak, but I didn't want to deal with the twitter screams and nasty emails.'

No accountability. None. And no sense of responsibility, professionalism or ethics either.
