It's it disturbing to think Roderic o Gorman actually represented Ireland at the UN three weeks ago at the Commission on the status of Women.

His tweet yesterday proves how out of touch he is with society in general, women & the gay community (which is shocking as he's a gay man so he should know that lgb do not advocate or are part of the trans ideology).

Advancing 'gender equality' in a way that politically suits MRAs, obvs.

@Penniless yes it was Richard Bruton.

It's a response at least. I've been emailing on & off since the GRA & have never got a reply. I do think Fine Gael are getting worried though. It's not going to plan.

First they ignore you ...

It is progress, and shows that they are recognising it as an issue they have to take a position on.

Well done.

@Mommymoments i wonder dix Richard even write the reply or if he’s even aware of what was sent out. I feel a visit to his clinic coming on….

StephanieSuperpowers · 01/04/2023 10:57

It's an unusual political party that doesn't need women or parents' votes, but good luck to them off their polling says that this will win more votes than they'll lose.

Mommymoments · 01/04/2023 11:04

@StephanieSuperpowers they won't get the lgb vote either especially now after Roderics genius tweet😁 not one comment of support & majority from the lgb community who have worked tirelessly for their rights.

The "gender equality" referendum is going to be extremely interesting. Leo just said that he doesn't want to see it highjacked by the trans debate. Suggesting that he knows full will this will be a trans issues referendum. The thing the stupid fuckers don't seem to realise it that it's constitutional law that both sides of a referendum debate have to be given equal debate time on RTE. There was nearly a meltdown last year when Joe Duffy allowed a bit of debate about women not liking to be called 'people with cervixes' on Liveline. But now they could very easily find that they have made it mandatory for this to be debated on prime time television for hours upon hours before the referendum. They are torpedoing 'no debate' and they rely on 'no debate.'

Mommymoments · 01/04/2023 11:19

I do feel Leo has more cop on that Roderick (who at the very least should the gay community do not was to be associated with transgenderism). Leo will go where the votes are. Women, parents & the gay community are collectively a huge demographic who do not want trans on our GAA women's teams, prisons, changing areas or spaces.
Fine Gael need to start lobbying for trans sports teams, trans toilets, changing rooms & prisons. No more of this letting them into ours.

The woman hating womanphobes are not liking all the people in Ireland emailing the tds! Panti's knickers in a twist all day retweeting!
Lets up the ante & let ALL our TDs & Ministers know we want womens rights & spaces for biological women only.

nilsmousehammer · 01/04/2023 18:11

Cos people worried about women's equality and children's safeguarding obviously don't worry for any other reason than signalling being right wing extremists doing it to piss off the righteous.

Which makes you wonder what the actual fuck the left think they're doing, if caring about such things is now anathema to them.

Mommymoments · 01/04/2023 18:22

The tide is changing. I have very liberal left wing mum friends. They had no issues at all with transgenderism each to their own etc attitude...
Now with the new sex curriculum proposed change "teaching" young innocent children about transgenderism, the GAA letting men on girls teams & Barbie Kardashian they have woken up & want to put a stop to the nonsense.

How dare we write to our elected representatives and apprise them of our concerns 😏 We’re just supposed to take our lumps quietly like the good little women and/or culchies that we are. It’s up to the sophisticated, worldly-wise middle-class types like Rory and Roderick etc to know what’s good for us lowly plebs

The womanphobes are getting pissed off, Ireland's waking up. I'm going to have a glass of prosecco tonight to celebrate the country's awakening 😜 Prosecco is a TERFs poison of choice after all according to the woman haters!

I love the "dare" - "Izzy Kamikaze" is obviously the inverted pink triangle* poster's real name, of course.

*Insulting to gay men and to many victims of the holocaust to use this symbol. It was sewn onto the uniform of homosexuals imprisoned in Nazi concentration camps, and the trans movement appears determined to negate homosexuals.

McEntee is back as Minister for Justice this week and we know has signed off on transwomen being placed in the female estate in the past. Hope a brave journalist asks her a question about her position on this now. FG seem to be very much in electioneering mode already and I doubt want this to be an issue.

Wonder whats happening with the guidance the prison service were developing, its taking a long while

Abhannmor · 30/05/2023 08:33

Perhaps they imagined they could long finger it til after the election. But there is no chance of that - and its all their own doing.

They are pressing ahead with the ban on ' conversion therapy '. Again hoping to use gay people as a human shield. Discredited therapies to convince gay people they are straight are not used in Ireland. This ban is really an attack on parental rights. If your child thinks they are in the wrong body only Affirmation will be allowed.

Secondly, the Referendum on the status of women. They don't want it to be about trans issues? Tough. Next up : we don't want to talk about the homeless or the hospital waiting lists.Thank you for your cooperation.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 30/05/2023 13:22

The referendum 'on the status of women' is going to be an odd one. At present, the Constitution is being read as having a very 1930s 'a woman's place is in the home' message. But that could be read as meaning 'a woman has a right to a life in her home', which implies that 'a woman has a right to a home', with woman, in present legislation, meaning everybody if they want that identity and that right.

I think I'll be voting for no change.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 30/05/2023 13:24

I wish Irish men and Irish women were a bit more pushy about Constitutional rights (like the right to education). It would put the fear of god in the present generation of politicians.

Believerinbiology · 30/05/2023 13:36

I know it's an old post but just wanted to point out that Izzy Kamikaze is a well known Irish lesbian (and when I say lesbian I mean the old fashioned kind) involved in LGB activism since the early 80s. I completely disagree with her on her trans stance but respect the work she has done over the years. She was viciously attacked by a masked anti-mask protester with a wooden plank a few years ago. I don't think I'm alone in believing that there are a number of men who attach themselves to various organisations/protests with the sole intent of using it as an excuse for acts of intimidation and violence (highlighted by supposed anti-maskers wearing masks/face coverings at protests).

Believerinbiology · 30/05/2023 13:39

The summary stats from the census are out although will have to wait til later in the year to find out how they're going to report the sex and religion figures.
