Most stupid centring of men on national women's day

What's the most stupid centring of men you've seen on national women's day. This particularly annoyed me as it is literally centering men with both the messaging and the framing of the male individual.

I haven't got the guts to tell the person that posted it on social media they're an idiot, so will have to content myself with venting here.

It's particularly depressing because she's a bloody teacher and supposedly an intelligent person.

I’ve just remembered at an old workplace the featured blogs on our company Intranet on International Women’s Day were from a middle aged man talking about how women in his life were important, and a transwoman talking about how empowered she was.

As someone who had had to take the company through a grievance process to be able to return to work part time after maternity leave, it was particularly galling.

Oh, and don't forget, you can't assume anything about the "lady-brains" on here because it's called Mumsnet. See pp above.
I get scared to post most of the time because a) I'm not a Mum, and b) I've only got a BA (Ist class Hons in a science subject.)

Spotted a post from the business department at Cambridge University today for IWD that one of my very distant contacts put a critical comment on. I’ve no connection so didn’t comment myself. It got deleted after a few hours.

Basically said behind all great men are amazing women… wives, mothers etc …. and we need to celebrate them because the men wouldn’t be as amazing without their support. WTAF? I thought I’d stepped back in time… like an episode of Mad Men

Friend's employer put a collage of pictures of their "women" employees on their social media for IWD. Guess the sex of the one who got the biggest, most prominent picture? 🤔

The world is set up by men, for men. There is an international mens day. Can we not just have one solitary day that isn't all about the peen bearers? Ffs.

on a more positive note, the google doodle for IWD looks good and the blurb for it from the artist mentions 'breastfeeding.' It probably would up until the last few years without any controversy.

Its quite fantastic how threatened male people get at female people having one solitary day and cannot celebrate them or think about them but have to hurl themselves in front and scream for attention, like a toddler trying to get Mummy off the phone.

White male born and socialised trumps all. Even in a dress. That's what you very well know and could be discussing if you're so very bothered about self-ID. But you can't bring yourself to speak that truth into life. So you resort to 'cheap shots' offhand racist comments, dissing minorities/othering Black women via useless commentary simply so you don't have to admit that privilege.

To compare Black women to White privilege without a shred of irony, and casually link it with the decades long trauma of Black lynching, is abhorrent albeit I can't say I'm surprised really.

There is a valid point in there, though. How many men had their wives typing up manuscripts and doing that kind of stuff, in the days before there was word processing? Lots. That’s not to say women did not and could not achieve in their own right, but that many did not get the chance because of social norms, and the work they did was not recognised usually. So it’s that old saying of behind every great man is a great woman, I think.
