The main source to this story is the Daily Mail:

The firm also made a T-shirt designed by Ms Keen and worn by JK Rowling which described First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as a 'Destroyer of women's rights' over the controversial Gender Recognition Act.

But now the company - who has accepted £75,000 of orders from the cause - now says they are 'offensive material'.

Non gay people feel entitled to hound and bully gay people out of Pride. (For being gay: hater usually means 'won't do straight sex on command' in this sense.)

Yeah spin that all you like, identify away as it being just lovely and totes righteous. Meanwhile back in reality, it's horrific.

There's a video online if you want to see for yourself.

Yes, I saw it at the time.

I didn't see anyone "screaming abuse", but I did see a large crowd of young women and men chant "trans lives matter" at the hated until he left.

Are you Nelson? He saw no ships, by way of putting his telescope to his blind eye. But then, we're used to your dissembling ways, by now.

Waitwhat23 · 04/02/2023 17:15

And the guy in question was hounded to leave a Pride event for the seemingly mortal sin of (gasp) wearing a t-shirt and hat which had the LGBA logo on it.

I know, I know, the other protesters must have been very restrained not to build a pyre on the spot /s

queencactus · 04/02/2023 17:17

I haven't seen that Julie Bindell clip before and would be interested in the context. In general though, it is my impression that the TRAs threaten violence and aggression and the GC supporters don't. At a recent event in Glasgow TRA supporters had a sign threatening women with decapitation. I haven't seen anything equivalent at GC events. It will be interesting to see what threats the TRAs make tomorrow. They may say that they receive threats of violence and aggression from women but I don't seen any substance to their claims. The violence and aggression only appears to flow in one direction.

Ah bollox. Sealioning squirrels and derailed carriages all over the track.

FUBAR

Oh for a quiet carriage, and for good measure as it's my imagination, it's the smoking carriage as well!

RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella · 04/02/2023 17:20

the seemingly mortal sin of (gasp) wearing a t-shirt and hat which had the LGBA logo on it
So a guy went to a Pride event for LGBT people sporting a t-shirt and hat with a logo from an organisation that excludes the T part of LGBT?
Darn, can't imagine why he didn't feel welcome at an LGBT event then, that's a bit of a head scratcher!

MargaritaPie · 04/02/2023 17:21

Johnnysgirl · 04/02/2023 17:00

Why would you label a gay man at a Pride (!) event a "hater"?
What's the matter with you?

This has already been established. He was wearing attire bearing the name of the anti-trans LGB-Alliance.

There was a large crowd of LGBT people and allies calling him out on this (as they have a right to do, noone should be silenced, right?). I'm certainly not the only one to be calling him a hater.

The LGB-Alliance should have the "T" in their name, seeing as trans-people is basically all they talk about. They don't seem to actually do much for LGB people.

There's even been a whole court case over this.

" offensive behaviour " @BleepBipBoop ???
Could you very kindly give us a few examples of offensive behaviour displayed on this forum, please.
Please do educate relative newcomers like myself, who have yet to see anything remotely resembling offensive behaviour here. It's only fair you should forewarn those of us with a nervous disposition, i'd have thought.
As for changing your name, bit of a waste of time tbh, imo, your attitude will give you away going forward, if it hasn't already to regular posters, who will know everyone's written language ' tells ' by now.

well, Tukmgru's delightful leaving post seems to have been deleted so bbb might have difficulty.

Well, back at you: LGBTQ++1 ought only to have LGB in their name. Do you see?

There's even been a whole court case over this.

Yes, your side lost their spurious attempt to have the LGBA removed as a charity, on the entirely false grounds that they were a hate group. Why not mention that?

Do you think that everyone here is an ill informed dummy?

Can you actually grasp the fact that not having All Things Trans front and centre does not in any way equal being "anti trans"?
Trans issues have nothing to do with sexual orientation; trans people have not only tacked themselves onto the LGB organisations they have nothing in common with, but are, as usual, demanding centre stage there.

Cherry60 · 04/02/2023 17:28

"There's even been a whole court case over this"
There certainly has and it's not over yet, but as a result of trying to take down LGB Alliance, Mermaids exposed themselves to the point they're now being investigated by the Charity Commission. Boom.

Am I missing something? Which trolls (plural) did you mean? When you wrote this post there was one response that didn’t necessarily wholeheartedly agree with you but was probably correct about the legalities. It was neither rude, unpleasant or even false. How can there ever be reasoned discussion with this kind of hyperbolic reaction?

I am still finding my way on the gender debate. I am certainly troubled by a lot of the things happening in the name of trans rights, particularly the erasure of women’s rights and safe spaces. I will of course be informed by the facts not people’s behavior. But the knee-jerk vitriol on BOTH sides drowns out the merits of the argument. Can you really say with a straight face that ALL of the negativity and offensive behavior comes from trans rights supporters? Reading this board for 5 minutes completely disproves that. I know it’s an emotive issue but I think a lot of people are put off by how nasty both sides have gotten. If either side could manage to take the high road —honestly— they would probably get a lot more buy-in from the general public who don’t think too hard about this stuff.

I guess this makes me a troll too?

<changes back to normal username to avoid being hounded as I have seen happen to others on here who speak out of line>

Always love the both sides argument. Then I get to roll out this link

terfisaslur.com/

And ask , usually without a reply, where exactly have you seen cunty type women making these kind of threats?

Its always illuminating.

Bet you'll just ignore it, as usual.

It doesn't come across as great, but what's the context? Was the campaign and slogan explained at all?

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking for the source of that short clip (having been very confused as to why a less than 30 second clip was given as some sort of response).

The clip comes from a much longer documentary by the BBC, part of a series of documentaries called Lefties. This episode was called 'Angry Wimmen' and talks about the rage felt by radical feminists in the 1970/1980's. The clip is available in full on the reddit/mensrights (somewhat unsurprisingly) and also seems to be on YouTube.

Haven't had a chance to watch in full but will later to find out the context of the badges mentioned.

Going with your reasoning, then any 'Trans Pride' signs or similar should have similarly been ejected? Given they didn't mention the rest of the alphabet.

It's such a bizarre thing that it's seemingly totally fine with TRA's for specific, specialised groups, services, mottos etc to exist for trans people but the mere idea of similar groups for people who share the common characteristic of being same sex (or same and opposite sex) attracted is just totally unacceptable.

That's the one 👍, it's a good documentary and worth a watch.

Of course no one truely believed that radfems wanted to 'kill all men' back then, much like no one truely believes that anti-captitalists want to 'eat the rich' or TRAs want to 'decapitate TERFs' now.

queencactus · 04/02/2023 17:47

@CryInToYourCornflakesNicola That is truly horrific. And exactly what I meant. TRAs claim that GC women are aggressive but I've never seen anything equivalent to those posts. The TRAs seem to have been very good at making assertions that don't always stand up to examination, but these assertions are repeated so often that many people start to believe them.
