Helloprint has suddenly refused to supply stickers to Kellie-Jay Keen

IwantToRetire · 04/02/2023 01:07

The main source to this story is the Daily Mail:

The firm also made a T-shirt designed by Ms Keen and worn by JK Rowling which described First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as a 'Destroyer of women's rights' over the controversial Gender Recognition Act.

But now the company - who has accepted £75,000 of orders from the cause - now says they are 'offensive material'.

"What worries me about the event tomorrow is that these men are enraged by..."

A lot of you seem to be trying to make this out to be a man v woman thing. It is not. Gender criticals are both men and women, and LGBT supporters are also both men, women and teens of both sexes.

What is clear as mentioned before is GC's are overwhelmingly the older generations.

Well what I am seeing is a bunch of angry men getting really pissed off that us women won't give them what they want and are daring to speak about it.

The fact you are seeing something different is because your belief system is different from mine.

And the generation thing, well no. My kids (both sexes) agree with us women as do most of their friends.

Helleofabore · 04/02/2023 14:15

Marg keeps forgetting the generation between 18-28 are particularly known for being the most intolerant despite believing the opposite. It really doesn’t work to say that they are most tolerant when they seem to be scared to speak their real opinions so they don’t lose friends, family and social groups.

How ridiculous that you keep bringing it up Marg. Almost like you are keen to continue to look ignorant so people don’t expect any more from you.

Helleofabore · 04/02/2023 14:06

Do you remember the fake tan comment too? I find the latest moralising about racism to be Hmm

I do. They like to do that on any thread that mentions racism conveniently forgetting their own.

queencactus · 04/02/2023 14:15

Many young people are quietly GC, they just don't want to face violence and aggression from the TRAs by speaking out.

Helleofabore · 04/02/2023 14:18

Glad I am not the only one who notices. I just keep mentioning some posters can’t see their own casual racism. I figure one day their own hypocrital behaviour will sink in.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 04/02/2023 14:23

Weird isn't it.

Life's two great mysteries.

The Internet forum with the highest proportion of female users is also the one famous for resisting the ideological push to deny female people the right to exist as recognised social and political group.

And the longer one lives as a female bodied person, the less one sees oneself as interchangeable with a male bodied person who feels like a woman.

"We're raising our daughters to carry the baton when we're gone, tough tit"

I'm sure they'll make their own minds up, the same as everyone else will. In a generation or two they may decide to support LGBT rights after all when they realize gender criticals are a thing of the past and almost non-existent.

btw there has been some good news from Finland recently:

www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/02/finland-new-gender-recognition-law-a-major-step-towards-protecting-trans-rights/

Imagine being shown how the constant use of dehumanising words such as ”Gender criticals” leads to dismissing violence against women because you have dehumanised them so you can minimise it and make jokes about it being ‘just being pies’, ‘just silly string’, and ‘just water’ and then just continuing to do it.

I mean, I could not imagine dismissing violence against women and children. But there you go.

Yes, but it's the men that are worrrying

Female disrupters are not scary, generally speaking. It's the men that are highly likely to assault GC women.

Can't think why. What is it about men, I wonder? Even the ones who wear lipstick. There's something about them...

picklemewalnuts · 04/02/2023 14:31

Oh yes. Violence. That was it.

I remember the time they cheered on a young white trans-identifying man for making fun of the appearance of a black shop assistant.

It was obvious that he'd treated her like shit in person, too, but as he's trans, apparently that's okay.

The customer is not right when he's an entitled oik who sees himself as worth more than staff members!

You forgot dismissing a decapitate Terfs sign photo by making a joke about a stuffed IKEA toy.

nilsmousehammer · 04/02/2023 14:52

If one of the sacred caste was treated in the way it is perfectly normal and pious to treat women who say no? The kick off would be huge. Outrage. Just look at the rage and dummy spitting going on about 'tone' that women are doing nothing more than getting blunter in naming reality. I've just seen a Twitter call for a group tantrum to protest 'normalisation of transphobia' - which is basically people talking openly about no one changes sex and sex matters. Unequal standards.

It's like the massive fuss over KJK once took a selfie with someone's aunt's cousin's hamster who once met Someone Dodgy when MSPs are fine to stand under death and rape threat signs and hang around with open supporters of paedophilia.

The blatant double standards. A key characteristic of male abusers. Lundy Bancroft has written entire books on this, I recommend 'why does he do that?'

If a male would prefer not to be called a male, then avoiding very, very male behaviour would help. Because what has been happening for years is the equivalent of asking someone 'does my bum look big in this'. And there is a time and a place for having to say "Yes. Yes, it really does."

Yes. You are wrong. It’s pretty simple? Honestly, her recent list of appearances include anti gay groups, anti abortion groups, and even a guy calling for a white ethnostate. Please do let me know how you intend to defend this?

I believe I remember Marg dismissing intimidation and abuse from a large mob yelling at a lone gay man. And that he was assaulted when someone stole his hat.

Actually, it seems Marg has a habit of dismissing violence when it suits Marg.

picklemewalnuts · 04/02/2023 15:13

I'm not going to defend Posie against accusations of a huge array of beliefs.

I admire her for her courageous and effective campaign about the meaning of woman.

I don't share all her beliefs. I don't share all her beliefs about women's rights.

That doesn't mean she deserves even a smidgen of the abuse threats and intimidation she gets.

How could it?

Lanter · 04/02/2023 15:13

Cherry60 · 04/02/2023 11:32

Seems like a really stupid gesture that costs them and in no way will stop KJK. Stickers and t-shirts aren't that difficult to make, she could probably set up a business herself.

Helloprint turns over €100m a year, I think they'll be alright.

Simple I don't need to because

I don't believe you.

I don’t see her as a ‘paragon’ and she is on no ‘pedestal’ as far as I am concerned.

I believe that people have drawn some pretty long bows on mere being seen. The ‘neo-fascist’ claim was completely unfounded. We ended up with pretty much a thread showing that absolutely there a no evidence that she shared any platform with Johansen (iirc). She allowed a selfie.

If you want anyone to take your post as credible. Please present the evidence that she ‘hung around’ with the Norwegian neo-fascist. And by the way, don’t bother with Wikipedia as ‘proof’, it was false reporting as we discovered. And if that is your level of evidence, it says more about you than it does about Kellie Jay.

Shall we wait for the evidence from you, or will you just admit you are spreading misinformed you have picked up somewhere, never checked properly but you are happy to continue to spread because you don’t like her?

Your choice. But I think if you are involved in spreading rumours, time to front up the evidence.

Otherwise, why should any person reading any of your posts consider you credible?
