Helloprint has suddenly refused to supply stickers to Kellie-Jay Keen

The main source to this story is the Daily Mail:

The firm also made a T-shirt designed by Ms Keen and worn by JK Rowling which described First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as a 'Destroyer of women's rights' over the controversial Gender Recognition Act.

But now the company - who has accepted £75,000 of orders from the cause - now says they are 'offensive material'.

The humour here is so gentle too. I mean sharp and witty, but gentle.
Jokes about overworked support dogs, and soggy bundles.

None of this 'jokes' about women being splattered over car windows like a sack of baked beans, or whatever it said about driving a car into women protesters.

Ah yes, the 'jokes' about driving a car into a rally so that women would be splatted across the windscreen like baked beans, 'jokes' about killing Rosie Duffield with a gun and 'jokes' about killing JKR with a hammer. The 'jokes' about battering TERFS. And all these 'jokes' are seemingly acceptable in a culture where women are seen as fair target.

But we somehow keep getting told both sides.

FOJN · 04/02/2023 09:43

Am I missing something?

Yes, at least a decade of history, probably more. I arrived at this debate over 5 years ago and there was so much that had already happened I felt like I was late to the party even then.

Your point will have some merit when you can produce these kind of receipts:

terfisaslur.com/

If we lack the tact we once had it's because we've had enough now.

HopRockers · 04/02/2023 10:02

They're entitled to take/refuse whatever work they want but they seem to have the PR instincts of a peanut! Now "both sides" have a reason to take their business elsewhere & KJK is making hay 🤩☀️

Helleofabore · 04/02/2023 10:09

I also have found this week that there are posters on AIBU who think simply writing condescending posts about how ignorant people are (often using those same negative words of dogwhistle, anti trans etc) and then indicate that they ‘know’ things should not be challenged.

It is hilarious really. The word ignorant being thrown around, often with derisory comments about the Daily Mail. And then when information is posted and dissection of what has been posted as so called evidence by those calling others ignorant happens, the poster flounces or claims some strange victory while writing barely have posted more than a few sentences at a time usually with absolutely no credible substance.

And this is on AIBU threads. There is a complete disconnect.

I can’t understand why people complain about the FWR board being especially combative. After the threads in AiBU this week, I find the FWR board to generally have honest posts from regulars. They might be as blunt as fuck but they are honest and based on fact not supposition and emotional manipulation.

So my thank you to the FWR regulars for the sanity, the persistence and the honesty. I would rather be told blunt honest facts than deal with these gaslighting tactics that seem more prevalent this week.

Well, you were right. @BleepBipBoop managed to (somewhat) derail this thread. Go figure.

The furries/violent protesters in Glasgow face a difficult decision tomorrow. Protest at an actual fascist event or....shout at women. Hmm, I wonder which one they'll pick.

Nope. You need to have a clearer look. Women saying no is in no way comparable to the rape and death threats the gender y regularly indulge in. The 'both sides' thing is claptrap.

The speech from the two sides is in no way comparable and anyone who says so is a liar, or crashingly ignorant. Yes, Keir Starmer, I AM addressing you.

Women saying "No," cannot be compared fairly to TRA zealots threatening assault, rape and murder, as well as actual assaults.

twitterexile · 04/02/2023 10:28

Hoping that the media spotlight will be on these woman hating incels due to the recent exposure of SNP prison policy. They will not disappoint and I envisage hordes of angry, overfed young men in knee socks and miniskirts clutching their 'kill women' signs as they spit and screech in the faces of the brave women protesters. It will be a horror show and will make very good copy so will be reported widely. My fear is that a woman will be hurt.

However, I think Iwanf has confused two lemons.

Swan posts here often. I think OP may have the wrong lemon in mind.

@MargaritaPie which one are you going to? 😂😂😂

SinnerBoy · 04/02/2023 10:34

I should think that the Furry Gang will opt to avoid the violent Nazis and harass the women instead. It makes perfect sense for them, as they won't be beaten up by women.

That's less likely to be the case with the Nazis and football hooligans.

lifeturnsonadime · 04/02/2023 10:58

What worries me about the event tomorrow is that these men are enraged by what has happened in the last week in Scotland.

I hope that they don't escalate.

As for the stickering company, well as a business it is really up to them, but I would imagine they have been put under pressure to decline to provide from people who really don't like women speaking.

Might be something to do with the fact KJK's stickers are being primarily used to deface public property and to harass and spread fear against transpeople which leads to violence?

😂 maybe it’s time you put on your big by pants buttercup. Women are not responsible for male violence, and neither are fucking stickers!!

I got told this week that I was aggressive and angry and he wasn’t going to engage with me because I told a man that it should not be his choice whether women accepted a male person in their prison, even with that male’s cock chopped off.

I think he took exception to the blunt ‘cock chopped off’ language and being told no at the same time.

It never once occurred to him that telling women what they should accept and what they should be comfortable, and then censoring my language was a sure sign of a misogynist….. he flounced in outrage.

They always flounce when they have no coherent come back.

It's always very telling in itself!

Boiledbeetle · 04/02/2023 11:12

Both sides are as bad as each other?

exhibit A: 'TRA' holding sign

exhibit B: 'GC' sticker

Reader, you decide

Reading between the lines it sounds like ‘some of our staff are complaining and we thought it was easier to let this go to another print firm. It’s only one job out of tens of thousands.’

Followed by ‘Uh, why am I now talking to a British reporter from one of their papers?’

Possibly followed by ‘Oh, FCUK!’

Most print firms follow an ‘if it’s legal, we print’ rule. You can lose a lot of election printing jobs if you get a reputation as a firm that refuses jobs based on their employees’ politics.

Wouldn’t surprise me if UK election agents are already making notes to pick another firm. If this spreads back to the Netherlands, they might lose the political printing there, as well.

Hello, BleepBlipBop. I too once popped in and suggested the women round here be kinder, soften their words to make them easier to read.

I was taught (rather sharply) about female socialisation, that on this board I could express myself however I wanted, and to expect others too as well. My arse was handed to me, without even a gift bow on top.

As I've read on, and seen what women are dealing with, the sheer bloody ignorance of people who simply can't seem to listen when women speak, I've come to understand it better.

No amount of 'be kind' is going to smooth this shit show into reasonableness. When people will create a third category- men, women and rapists- in order to deny reality, then there's no point in wearing gloves. This is a bare knuckle situation.

My arse was handed to me, without even a gift bow on top.

And these days we just feed you chocolate x

gaycitynews.com/anti-trans-stickers-surface-in-hamilton-heights/

That is a truly hilarious article.

A gay couple, consisting of a male person and a transgender female person, see two women putting stickers up and then record themselves shouting at the two women who call them misogynistic.

And then it ends with a quote from the transman "“It was traumatizing,” he said. “No one should walk and see hatred toward their own community.”"

Could not make this shit up. Stickers are a worse harassment than shouting at people.

Those stickers simply have a factual sentence on them:
in order to be a trans woman you have to, by definition, be a biological male.
Biological males all have a penis each, and most of those who decide they want to «transition» retain their penis.

If you are a woman, you are just that: a woman. Women do not have a penis and have been female from conception.

I am not sure how this can be said differently to be honest. I can try it in French, if you like?

Well, I got my first C you next Tuesday in the aibu thread the other day. When things weren't going well for one poster arguing with us.

I'm sure that was to the aibu readers who haven't made it as far as the fwr board a quick show of who is on the right side of history! Then in quick succession he insulted all the other posters who disagreed with him. Hence the sea of deletions the other afternoon!

Helleofabore · 04/02/2023 11:26

”Could not make this shit up. Stickers are a worse harassment than shouting at people.”

Remember when a poster on this thread told us on the WiSpa thread that it was more egregious that the woman complaining was in her robe and naked underneath in the public lobby than a sex offender with a semi aroused cock entered a spa bath directly in front of a nine year old girl?

I remember that clearly. There are unfortunately some posters who will make those comparisons. And Marg is not alone.
