'Stewart McDonald, Kirsten Oswald, Kaukab Stewart and Alison Thewliss were at the Glasgow protest to support the trans community and stand up for Scotland's democracy.'

That's them standing in front of a sign that says 'decapitate terfs'.

Again, I'm genuinely fucking shocked. This inflammatory, violent rhetoric is not acceptable.

Second half of this article:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11662117/Senior-aide-Sir-Keir-Starmer-says-MP-Rosie-Duffield-spend-time-JK-Rowling.html

I'm still a bit surprised that this hasn't been covered at all by the BBC.

They report on the demo in this article:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-64354275

With a photograph of a trans activist and a substantial quote. But no mention of the many, many politicians in attendance, and not a squeak about the sign calling for women to be decaptitated. Odd.

That quote:

'One of the demonstrators, Anissa Praquim, said the political row was having a detrimental impact on the trans community.

"It's undignified. The whole point of this law being passed was to allow trans people a bit of dignity and a bit more humanity when they're trying to be legally recognised."'

You know what is 'undignified'? Demanding women are decapitated. That's really not very nice. And if your 'humanity' seems to involve decapitating people then something's gone terribly wrong.

They'll say it was just a joke, he didn't mean it. But some online may see the tacit approval and be emboldened by it.

They all clearly thought the sign was absolutely fine, it was there for the whole protest and not one single person said "that is a shocking sign take it down."

One thing's for sure they now cannot deny the threats made by the TRAs now. And the overriding image of their protest is one of violent threats against females.

So thanks for that I guess? 🤔

nilsmousehammer · 22/01/2023 10:44

I have just seen on Twitter a post from a man scolding women for saying Lloyd Whatzisface was behaving abusively by intentionally invading a female MPs space, sitting close and staring at her, that this is not abuse, and that women should not throw those terms around.

This movement has been all about smashing boundaries and moving goalposts, all in favour of men and all to remove even normal perceptions of fairness to women. It is pernicious and it's in plain sight in all its ugliness now.

HootyMcboob76 · 22/01/2023 10:45

Just looking at that line up of men grinning away like mindless arseholes as they champion the dismantling of women's rights, makes me sick to my stomach.

I can't believe there are so many brainwashed imbeciles in the world that can't see this movement for what it really is.

A men's rights movement.

Waitwhat23 · 22/01/2023 10:46

I've just seen a tweet scolding Joanna Cherry for 'passive aggressively' disseminating the photo of the sign and demanding her removal from the SNP.

ApocalipstickNow · 22/01/2023 10:48

Strange, isn’t it Arabella, you’d expect politicians at demos to be featured on the BBC yet should they stand in front of a sign threatening violence towards women and it becomes unusable!

which says everything.

I can’t imagine they stood in front of those signs in order to get the message out there that those who support TRA ideology support MRA/incel/women hating ideology (as has been said on this thread crowds have turned on protesters waving banners they object to in the past, but not these. Never these) but the presence of high profile individuals (whether they agree or not) splashes the rot at the heart of this movement into the public.

Very good they didn’t stand in front of a “fluffier” more easy to sympathise with message.

Under your eye.

WarriorN · 22/01/2023 11:08

Brilliant post Nils.

The deep green resistance, partly founded by Prof Derek (forgot his name) of 'queer theory jeopardy,' uses a lot of Bancroft quotes to both support their assertions that gender ideology is abusive to women and also compares similar abusing tactics across the world, against the planet. By corporations, governments etc.

Of course so many authoritarian misogynistic lefty blokes have entered the English and Scottish Green Parties that these ideas are ignored and vilified because it doesn't suit the male agenda.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/01/2023 11:09

Derek Jensen.

Sorry, Derrick Jensen.

WarriorN · 22/01/2023 11:11

It's all coercive control.

Queer theory. Twaw. 'Trans' kids. Abuse of trans widows. What the snp and the Scottish greens are doing right now.

WarriorN · 22/01/2023 11:13

And then you scrape beneath the surface of the trans medical industry and find horrific links to csa and the porn industry and fetishes. Genevieve Gluck has done sterling work on this; I have no idea how she stays sane.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/01/2023 11:16

I haven't read the thread and I'm, not on Twitter but has pressure been put on the Scottish police to follow up on this?

SinnerBoy · 22/01/2023 11:21

I've just seen a tweet scolding Joanna Cherry for 'passive aggressively' disseminating the photo of the sign and demanding her removal from the SNP.

It's instructive, isn't it? She's being taken to task for disseminating evidence more widely, evidence which shows them up for the screaming, ranting loonies that they are.

YetAnotherSpartacus

Apparently, they have received a report. What they'll do with it is anybody's guess.

WarriorN · 22/01/2023 11:31

Christ, the DARVO.

Except they excel at plain aggression.

Lundy Bancroft has written entire books on this.

One of the hallmarks of a male abuser is an allocation of wholly differing standards. What he expects, sees as his due, and feels fully entitled to punish others for not providing.... and the crumbs of what he will permit to his female partner, and what he sees as her due.

He is entitled to hit her if he feels angry: she may not raise her voice.
He is entitled to come and go as he pleases; she may not be where he does not agree.
He is entitled to spend as much as he wishes on the food he enjoys, take aways and hobbies; she is allocated a tiny sum per meal for herself and the children with punishment for overspending or breaking this rule.

And so on. It is a part of the coercive control, a part of the abuse. A part of the dehumanising that allows his ego to justify that he is not a bad person for behaving in this way.

Bancroft, in extensive work with these men in programmes often enforced by court and prison, identifies the capacity for progress or change in such men being extremely low. Largely he encourages the abused women partners to develop their own boundaries and escape to healthier people and relationships.

This board and the relationships board have always been focused on exactly the same core thing.

Exactly. It is exactly this.

so the answer is no.
no no no no no etc.

www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23268023.police-probe-decapitate-terfs-sign-trans-rally/?ref=rss

'POLICE Scotland has launched a probe after complaints about a sign at a pro-trans rally reading “Decapitate Terfs.”

The placard - which also included a drawing of a guillotine - came to prominence on social media yesterday after it featured in images and video of SNP politicians attending the rally, including MSP Kaukab Stewart, and MPs Stewart McDonald, Alison Thewliss and Kirsten Oswald.'

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/01/2023 13:11

Excellent! There were at least two placards though. The other one was shaped like a guillotine and was aimed at 'Terfs' and 'Swerfs'.

DressingForRevenge · 22/01/2023 13:20

I’m not convinced big crowds on a Saturday lunchtime in Buchanan street are indicative of huge support... most people were probably just tying to get to John Lewis.

Come back with your numbers for the forge on a cold Tuesday February night and then I might care.

I don’t know one single person who actually believes any of this guff outside of those being paid by the public purse to clap like seals.

Waitwhat23 · 22/01/2023 13:24

One sign appears to have said 'this time it's placards, next time it's not'. A strangely non explicit but ominous threat.

MarshaBradyo · 22/01/2023 13:25

Male violence untempered as it is with gender issues is hideous to see

DressingForRevenge · 22/01/2023 13:26

Next time you’ve got to play “shag, marry, eat” with the Johnson family? 🤷‍♀️

What’s with all the SWP placards ? Do the SWP really care about this issue or did they just fancy a coach trip?
