So as far as I can see, before last year most of the categories were not split between men/women anyway, it was only best international artist and best British artist that had separate awards.
They didn't reduce the total number of awards either, in 2021 there were 11 awards total and in 2022 there were 15 (according to Wikipedia).
In 2021 (the last year when there were any separate male/female awards), 7 awards were won by women and 4 by men.
In 2022 (the first time that there were no separate male/female categories), 9 awards were won by women and 5 by men. The other was won by a mixed but female-fronted band (Wolf Alice).
I am not sure that suggests that there is a bias against female artists (or that female artists are not likely to win awards that don't have male/female split) it would obviously be very disappointing if from now on there is a pattern of fewer female nominees and winners.
