Damn, won't be able to listen, but hopefully can catch it later. Good for her, she will be great

ArabellaScott · 05/12/2022 09:56

Oooh, go Hadley!

Circumferences · 05/12/2022 10:03

Ah if anyone could summarise I'd be extremely grateful...

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:04

On now. Better still, it's Emma Barnett in the chair.

PronounsBaby · 05/12/2022 10:06

Jeremy corbyn and gender ideas being censored. Resignation letter leaked to private eye

PronounsBaby · 05/12/2022 10:06

Compared the guardian to a partner who has suddenly become a conspiracy theorists

PronounsBaby · 05/12/2022 10:08

Wasn't allowed to write about mermaids, but telegraph was and therefore she also want allow to follow up on it...

Emma updating that charity commission has escalated their investigation.

leafinthewind · 05/12/2022 10:08

She had been asking to write (or for someone to write) about Mermaids - and being told no.

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:08

Whenever she wanted to write about gender identity ideology the Guardian always said no but they reasons for this always changed. The last excuse was "we don't follow other newspapers' stories".

The ban in the Guardian writing about gender identity ideology was across the board for all journalists while trans activists were platformed.

SapphosRock · 05/12/2022 10:08

Oh wow! She isn't mincing her words. Go Hadley.

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/12/2022 10:09

Interesting so far. Epic timing with the Charity Commission escalation.

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:10

EB clarifying that whenever something slipped through it was nearly always in The Observer.

The degree of censorship being revealed is startling even for those of us who've been following this for years.

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/12/2022 10:11

“Reality based feminists” 😂

God love her. Emma’s in a tricky spot given her treatment of Maya in that appallingly aggressive interview she did.

SapphosRock · 05/12/2022 10:12

This is so enlightening. The Guardian would happily promote trans activists but not reality based feminists.

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:12

HF saying that a very senior Guardian bod said, explicitly: You are not allowed to write about gender. I do not want women to be writing about gender.

This was in front of witnesses.

SapphosRock · 05/12/2022 10:13

Only men were allowed to write about women's rights!!

Ponypitter · 05/12/2022 10:15

Amazing - will listen on catch up

Love Hadley

SimonandGarfunkel · 05/12/2022 10:16

OMG listening now and it's just more and more shocking!

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:16

A HF bashing gathering instigates by external lobbying groups and people was held at the Guardian when she was away on business and this was withheld from her and when she learned about it HR said that it would cause trouble to make any statement.

nauticant · 05/12/2022 10:17

HF: it's been happening all over, in the UK and elsewhere, and including at Woman's Hour.

PronounsBaby · 05/12/2022 10:17

bringing women's hour into it now!! Saying Jenni murry was silenced

SimonandGarfunkel · 05/12/2022 10:18

She's just mentioned Woman's Hour - fan bloody tastic!! Emma talking shite about presenters not allowed to have opinions!!

DrBlackbird · 05/12/2022 10:18

It is just so sad though. The Guardian was / is needed as a corrective to The Torygraph and the Daily Fail. But it’s chosen to die on a hill detrimental to girls and women.

The left in general is so stuck in this quagmire of always thinking of themselves as and/or wanting to support all progressive projects. That was laudable until more recently and being swept up and blindsided by the trans ‘ gender ideology as being part of the progressive agenda.

The extreme gender ideology is the best gift the far right could ever have in dividing the left and stoking culture wars ultimately to the progressive agenda.

Yes, Hadley… completely agree it’s reality based feminism, not bloody GC feminism.

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/12/2022 10:19

I’m hanging on every word, it’s bloody brilliant.

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/12/2022 10:19

Did WH ever have Helen Joyce on?
