The small extract in the Guardian this weekend was very good.

Notna Reith lecture but that Hilary Mantel book review on saints and girl's bodies ..... "no wonder some girls want out" should be compulsary reading.

Prof Stock's response to that on Twitter was "I'm never knowingly vegan and sober" which I thought was a nice retort to the fun-sucking ghouls "celebrating" her being driven out.

As you say on the thread, I'm speechless.

Re: lurkers - it has made me think of a thread which happened here last Christmas. We always talk about 'for the lurkers' when debating with clearly bad faith posters but didn't really know how many lurkers there were. A thread appeared, last Christmas, where lurkers (loads of them!) popped briefly onto the thread to show support and to say 'we are here and we are listening'. It was genuinely heartening.

That is lovely, just as it has been lovely to see so many lurkers pop in here to say they were following the thread that got us all here.

I didn't lurk on The Thread at all. I do (and did) spend time reading the FWR boards on here, instead.
The chat I've read in the Old Country since Friday has been genuinely disheartening.
I'm posting on WDYDLN, but that's it. My feeling is that if the site is being zapped soon, I'd like to hang out with my people there a little before the end. But I'm even debating whether to do that tbh.
I didn't make a stand or tell anyone off or, well, anything. But that doesn't mean I didn't notice what went on and take note. I did.
