"Sturgeon’s speech, due to be delivered about halfway through the event, is expected to last be about 20 minutes. is due to deliver the main speech, which is due to last 20 minutes, around half way through the event.

The decision might have been made to “save the blushes of the first minister”, suggested Marion Calder, director of For Women Scotland.

She praised Zero Tolerance’s work but said: “Thirty years on, Scottish women must be wondering what has happened to this organisation.”"

So at a conference about VAWG, they’re silencing women talking about why they may require single sex spaces. And they call themselves feminists? Obviously from the same school of feminism as wee Nicola. The kind that prioritises men.

This is probably outing but I am still RAGING at my local Scottish WA who posted on their FB on the 18th/19th of this month one day about “international men’s day” and the other day “international trans day”.

I mean are we now putting men at the very CORE of desperately needed safe spaces?

I’m fucking furious at them and I come at this as a woman who has used WA and lived in a safe house.

This is destroying any and all pretence that Stergon or anyone involved in her government or funded by them cares,respects or gives 1 shit about women and girls.

Obviously what will happen is, Little Miss Feminist To My Fingertips will refuse to appear at an event that hates women.

It does not make sense to include transwomen in the category woman for discussion of male violence towards women and girls. Any violence transwomen experience at the hands of their fellow males is born of a different root than male violence towards women and girls. How can we get to the core of the issue if we muddy the waters by not defining clearly who "women and girls" are? How can we discuss this issue fully without appreciation of the importance that single sex spaces play in protecting women and girls?

Banning these conversations is a disgrace. If Nicola Sturgeon had the courage of her convictions she would be prepared to engage in these discussions. She is a coward.

Now at an event to discuss VAWG ... i can't anymore. We need to fully embrace it. Don't use the word trans.
Then there are no trans people and we can ignore any of their issues because they don't exist.

The quote from organisers I read said they had "strong opinions on" the issues that must not be discussed, which I wasn't sure if was supposed to be a wink-wink... Maybe getting her onstage in front of a load of disapproving feminists to spout the fingertips shite will be her Waterloo?

She must know that every woman in Scotland has this issue in the back of their minds. She must know how many women are survivors, of abuse, assault, harassment. She must know how we feel, and what we think.

How her actions have maintained an arrogant, callous, dismissive, contemptuous aura of bullshit for the past few years, how women have been failed by her over and over, how women have RAGED at all this, politely, reasonably, consistently, bravely - to no avail.

You can try and 'wheesht' us all you want, Sturgeon, but you can't stop us from thinking.
