There's a decent vegan cheese called Nourish (various flavours, including a startlingly blue blue coloured with spirulina) that we can get at our local shop, but I don't think it's widely distributed. Will look out for the London one.

I'm not new to MN, I've been here more often than That Other Place for the last few years, and haven't posted there much since the heyday of the Sparklies, so few will recognise my related-username. That Thread was one of the few I kept reading, and have only just caught up with the whole debacle. Bit winded by the whole thing really.

As you may have already witnessed, FWR boards attract the more obvious goady posters. It's so tempting to argue with them but if they're clearly doing a drive-by-goad, not in good faith or glaringly illogical, the general advice is to scroll on by and return the discussion to the last sensible topic/post.

The questions they can never answer - what exactly do you mean when you use the word 'woman'?

How is it possible for sex and gender - two entirely separate concepts, one referring to a physical body and one referring to attitudes or a soul or personality or true self or 'femininity'/'masculinity' - to either match/align/correspond, or not match/not align/not correspond? What are the genders that match with 'female', for example? Is it not like asking whether your race matches your nationality?

There are more but these are the basic ones.

It's helped me, actually, to feel a bit better about the decline of the place. Once this issue came to the surface for everyone on the site, many were able to make their feeling known - and I'm shocked at some of the posters' cruelty and ignorance. I'm especially shocked at the blatant and apparently unopposed calls for - fucking hell - censorship and cancellation.

Looking around the oldplace, most of the people I enjoyed were on the thread of truth (or "shitstain" as it's currently known) so I'm hoping they will follow us here.

It's nice to see more exiles popping up! In view of this...

There was a suggestion upthread that a new muster-point for general exile-based chitchat, explanations of how to do the formatting and welcoming/handholding be set up outside FWR - in Chat, perhaps? I could make a thread if people think that would be useful? What might it be called?

Good idea, Kuc. As for a title, I can't think of anything interesting, but it does need to be specific to avoid confusion. Maybe including the term 'life boat' might help?

In order to be recognisable, it probably needs to have JTT in the title, unless there's something else you can think of that would be recognisable. I suggested JTT Exiles Chat 1 (because it may run more than 1000 posts!) - but I'm sure there are better suggestions. It would also need an opening post outlining what it is
