My decision to do so depends on if I have money to spare at that point and whether I believe in the cause rather than the personal friendships of the person bringing the case.

I donated to JB's crowdfunder along with almost everyone else's. However, those women who have now declared KJK an enemy won't be getting any more of my money. Having different views and tactics is fine if I still support the cause/goal. Monstering a woman and lying/slandering her, calling me a racist for supporting her etc means NO, I won't be giving you any more of my hard earned. Women are not a cow to be milked for cash and then turned into mince when it suits you.

I have limited money so the main factors in me donating are how important the case is (I donated to MF and AB as it seemed clear they would be important legal cases) and how vulnerable the women bringing the case are / how in need of the money.

I like KJKs merch because I can donate to a good cause and also buy Xmas pressies (which I need to get anyway) at the same time.

Tbh if I'd seen that at the time I wouldn't have donated to JB. I'm not wealthy and I can't afford to give money to people who commit this kind of vitriolic bullying. If she thinks KJK is thick presumably she has no respect for anyone who follows her, either. I never thought JB was especially smart herself and now I think she's a bully. She's one of the reasons I no longer identify as a feminist.

And has shared platform debating Milo Yiannopoulos more than once. I believe he regards her as one of the only "good" feminists. Presumably I can condemn JB as a shit feminist because she has received an endorsement from a known right wing troll.

I have pointed this out before, as have others. It gets ignored.

I think that JB has said things I disagree with. Yet…I appreciate what she does. Because that is an adult approach to life.

If she focused on monstering another woman the way the Brighton Feminist group has and crossing over to the fb page… I would be reconsidering just how much I appreciated her contribution. Of course I would.

But she doesn’t. She occasionally has a go at KJK but she doesn’t have a page dedicated to KJK’s sins or continue to monster her on social media to the extent that others have.

The other issue that many women have is that some of the Brighton Feminists have form for ‘gatekeeping’ real feminism.

There is nothing feminist about monstering a woman who is working towards the same end goal on an issue because you are prejudiced against her.

The hypocrisy that just cannot be denied by a breezy ‘this is just women expressing their opinion’ is very concerning.

I think we have been successfully diverted from the thread topic, police being weaponised against women.

We know Posie does not describe herself as a feminist yet she is held up and cut down as if she does.

The casual attitude to racism is problematic but they have both produced excellent content on women's rights.
