Why? What is the endgame for TRAs

I keep wondering why this is all happening now. What was the actual trigger point of people like Nicola Sturgeon becoming so adamant that the rights of Trans people have to be promoted and fought for at this time?

Why is it desireable that GRCs be obtainable so quickly? Does it all go back to Foucault and his post-modernist cronies? What is it that Sturgeon and Trudeau and other governments who are falling over themselves to push a trans-agenda up to? what is in it for them?

To be clear: I'm not rabidly anti-trans and up to now it hasn't really impinged on my life in any other way (I did know two transwomen way back but have lost touch. I do know a couple of young transmen and they seem fine but i don't know them well). I am painfully aware, of course, that other people's lives are being hugely impacted by this (seemingly?) sudden surge in transwomen and am very keen, as a 2nd wave feminist, that women are protected and allowed to live their lives and achieve their full potential in any way they can/want to. (so I'm not TWAW - i'm in favour of either fully proper unisex spaces or 3rd spaces)

I just don't get why. Why now? Why Canada? Why Scotland? Why anywhere?

Hey im also really SO glad the Queer Theory is helping smash down the patriarching-dings. It includes things like that children are actually sexual beings who should be able to consent to sex with adults. There really are so many wonderful essays on this, alongside the gender-non-binary stuff. Im so glad they are finding their way in to charities, schools, organisations, academia and libraries!

Its really interesting stuff, if you have a little search you will find papers that are advising for the age of consent to be 4, alongside the fact then men can become women. Very liberating!!

Unlike that Q-anon stuff which just turned out to be a few random coincidences across the internet, this sexualisation of children business has SO much wonderful evidence, it takes real determination to be thick skulled on the matter.

Well don't worry, conspiracy theory or not, we are totally blessed in the UK to have an abundance of AMAZING, intelligent, passionate, skilled, practical women who will not wheesht, and will not allow actual patriarchal caputalism to mine our children, women and vulnerable people.

There doesn't need to be a conspiracy. Queer theory opens the door to people wanting to break down child safeguarding regardless of whether anyone organised it or not. Breaking down boundaries is written in. Unfortunately some boundaries are necessary to protect women and children.

So, while it is most certainly true that not all trans people are like that, there is enough data and anecdotal evidence to convince plenty of people that all safeguarding procedures should be carried out and that legislation should be strengthened to ensure that no loopholes.

As were several prominent feminists, but that is no reason to accuse feminists of being part of a global paedophile plot in the here and now.

Yeah that's what people thought about lesbian and gay kids too once. It was just a fad or fashion or young people acting up. They were convinced this 'madness' would be over one day and everyone would grow up and accept basic biology. When the Tories introduced Section 28 they thought they'd won. That's pretty much where trans people are now. There's been a generational shift but the some of the older generations, who currently have the power, don't like it. So there's a backlash, as there was against gays and lesbians, but it will slowly fade as trans acceptance becomes normalised and today's trans and queer kids and those who support them become the generation which holds power.

Also, Paedos are literally everywhere now. Blame the internet. The police are despairing because there are so many men trading images of sexual abuse online the authorities can barely scratch the surface.
