Obviously not now to be purchased at Joules. The Filia meeting seems to have raised the issues which affect women and girls. In the same breath where the rights of women and girls in Iran are being crushed, and this reality is being discussed at Filia, you get something like this which is the finger to equality of respect of said sexed humans.

I wonder would they put a women’s rights flag up if asked?

Hey womanittee, I have a fascinating update for you. An attendee at FiLiA this weekend has been been asking stores with trans flags to put their side of things. Here's what they told her.

IDK, maybe “we’re trying to piss off a group of women in Cardiff to talk about their rights” doesn’t sound quite so noble. Either way, if you need to lie to people to get them to support your cause, maybe the issue is your cause, not your tactics.

Some guy comes in off the street saying put up a flag... and they just do it? Joules sounds a bit desperate. What other flags can men - that famous Joules customer base - come in with and emotionally blackmail female sales assistants into sticking up?

The whole 'we're inclusive' bullshit needs repeatedly challenging.

It is not 'inclusive' to exclude a lot of females to offer male supremacist privilege to people born male. That is what Joules have been tricked into embracing.

The twits who do this seem oblivious to the fact that they are systematically training the general public to associate that flag with deceit and manipulation. Short term gain, long term disaster .

Joules needs to think whether Twitter points or actual sales are more important.

Sounds like they were conned into it thinking that they would be preaching to the converted. Hope their marketing people are learning a valuable lesson from this. Fingers crossed that Monday morning will see a whole host of angry head offices on the phone to their Cardiff branches.

I mean the vast majority of our Western consumer goods are made in China and I think we all have to take responsibility for our complacency and the fact that almost all of us contribute to funding the Chinese government by buying endless things we don't need or which could be bought from more ethical sources. But I do see your point.

I hope they had a wee word with the member of staff who did this and their manager. It’s outrageous that shops just plant this stuff -not to ‘show support’ to anyone but to put one finger up to women.

I'm part of joules VM team and I can promise you, this is not part of our display plans. This was a member of the stores decision entirely!

I agree, I do my utmost to NOT purchase goods made in China, however, they have pretty much a monopoly on goods produced for the consumerist West - that should NEVER have been allowed to happen.
