This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

Yes, I'm seeing a lot more men — both gay and straight — posting on this subject. Men have mothers, wives, sisters, girlfriends, daughters. They know how predatory and scary some men are. I'm seeing an increasing number of men suggesting that men have to guarantee the safety of TWs in men's loos, but admitting that there's nothing they can do about the huge number of porn-addled blokes who get a thrill out of out invading women's space.

Basically it's an organised event and to march you need to register. This group hadn't registered and were obstructing the people who had from marching. The police offered advice and asked them to move on which they did. Lots of people (lesbians included) cheered when they were moved on.

The pride event also had many lesbians who marched and spectated.

I don't see what this has to do at all with the fact they are lesbians. I think saying "lesbians not welcome at gay pride" is completely misleading.

Welcome only as long as they go along with a homophobic ideology that claims males can be lesbians too?

Lesbians welcome as long as they do not carry banners saying penises not welcome or get the L out.

I'd love to believe that Get the L Out would have been allowed to register and carry those banners.

I am fine with people protesting. Protest is an important part of civil society. But protest also leads to others complaining and often the police getting involved. The police got involved because it was a protest. That is normal.

You've not heard about the colonisation of lesbian spaces by men to the point where women cannot gather without the presence of a penis-haver, or the cotton ceiling, or indeed just read the comments here implying that lesbians who insist they are same-sex attracted are transphobes, then.

The lesbians cheering were probably just glad the protestors had been removed and they could get on with the march.
