Unbelievable: the LGBAlliance tweet that they're going to be at all the party conferences "we’ll be running a stand and a fringe event at the Lib Dems' annual bash in Brighton in September" and whoops the LibDems CEO tweets there has been an administrative error and there is no stand after all for the LGBA, "This is not correct. To confirm: you do not have a stand or a fringe at Lib Dem Conference. I have checked with the team and there has been an administrative error. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience." A very half-heart apology there.

The LibDems have obviously been fielding complaints from teenagers again.

Why would anyone who is gay, or any woman, attend the LibDem conference with the intolerant attitudes they have?

The LibDems can fuck right off into electoral obscurity again 😉

FOJN · 08/07/2022 21:36

I opened this with the hope that the Libdems were engaged in respectful dialogue with LGBA but as PP said the Libdems can fuck right off.

Abhannmor · 08/07/2022 21:39

You must not upset Layla Moran.....

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 08/07/2022 23:00

I am a Lib Dem member and am in two gender critical groups fighting back and trying to influence the party: one for women, one LGB. Any disillusioned members or former members please feel free to DM me.

Dancingwithhyenas · 08/07/2022 23:02

Argh so frustrating that people are afraid to even engage with the issue.

Dancingwithhyenas · 08/07/2022 23:04

This another blow. I’m still really angry that I can never vote Green because they lost the plot.

You might want to lay off the gin for a bit.

ControversialOpening · 08/07/2022 23:07

Well if there had even been the teeniest chance of me voting Lib Dem in any election, national or local (say, for example, I liked the candidate and believed they were not too gender-woo) it has now gone.

I did vote for them once as they told me it would 'keep out the tories'. they then snuggled up with the tories at the first chance.
So just in recent years they have had a tory arse licker, a woman (I think she is) who can see souls, and a homophobic leader. Who do they believe is going to vote for them?

FigRollsAlly · 08/07/2022 23:49

“Administrative error”. What a great, big lie. They claim to be trustworthy but they are just as much liars as the politicians at whom they like to point the finger whilst pontificating about integrity.

ChagSameachDoreen · 08/07/2022 23:57

The Communist Party of Great Britain is the only uk political party that is gender critical.

There's an unrelenting push to change that from within, so if any gender critical women fancy joining to strengthen the party line, you'll be welcome! Branches all around the country.

That’s fascinating. What’s the history with how that’s come about?

Xiaoxiong · 09/07/2022 00:29

@IdisagreeMrHochhauser I would love to join you but I was kicked out of the Lib Dems in 2019 when I wrote to them asking about baroness Featherstone saying that feminists were not welcome in the party if they were GC - they literally terminated my direct debit and sent me a "sorry you're leaving" email even though I never said I wanted to leave.

Can I still help even if I'm not a member?

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 09/07/2022 01:21

Ed Davey is full on TWAW.

aweegc · 09/07/2022 06:00

Ed Davey: another man who is full on TWAW but somehow managed to not actually marry a TW or have children with one. What a coincidence that was.

Charley50 · 09/07/2022 06:12

Are Labour and Libdems receiving massive donations from the pharmaceutical industry or something? Or is it pressure from TRAs which is driving all this? I can't quite grasp the amount of power this, most marginalised, group hold.

FungalNail · 09/07/2022 06:14

disappointing

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 09/07/2022 06:26

I'm an ex member, I also don't understand what is motivating the ideology.
Is it that they need to have a cause, to be the little dog fighting? Or do they just not want to get elected? Or do they think Twitter is a reflection of society? Or are they just a party of old fashioned misogynist?

I'm sorry they did that. That's completely outrageous.

what's liberal or democratic about censoring the voices of homosexual people and women?

not what they say on the tin eh?

I don't know about Labour but the Liberal Democrats received £100,000 from Ferring Pharmaceuticals.

They make puberty blockers.

I recently discovered one of the founders of the Communist Party of Britain was Deborah Lavin , mother of Magdalen Berns. RIP 🙏

Dialectical materialism doesn't really include mystical ideas like lady brains or gendered souls. I'm not against religion or mysticism per se. But it shouldn't intrude into politics.

MaudeYoung · 09/07/2022 17:20

One thing about all this is very certain: the LibDems have just handed for free election campaign material to their opponents. All those tweets can be reproduced in election leaflets to demonstrate how anti-democratic the LDs really are in that the LDs will not accept a plurality of opinions.

Nothing homosexual about the LGBA - it's all about opposing trans rights and the Lib Dems support trans rights 😀

RoseslnTheHospital · 09/07/2022 18:29

Nonsense. Your agenda is showing.
