Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Fck it. Just going to identify as agender as a GC feminist.

I'm technically agender anyway as I choose to not believe in gender woo.

If males can infiltrate feminism by saying they're women I'm infiltrating transgendersism by identifying as agender.

If I'm asked my gender identity why shouldn't I say this, it's technically true according to stonewall.

Quite like the idea of being a double agent of sorts....

If I identify as a cat can I assume that gives me the right to spend 16+ hours a day relaxing somewhere comfortable and warm? Would it be a hate crime for anyone to interfere with me relaxing in warm and comfortable places? Also as a cat I can just wander off when I get bored right? Even mid sentence?

It really does seem like little children playing. I wonder if people who identify as something they aren’t were unable to play in the way they needed to when they were little. Did a lack a playtime stunt their development?

Yeah but you'd have to eat cat food. Thats the downside.

I think the endless flags and categorising of people is a symptom of neirodiversity.

It’s a way of signalling “ I am this therefore I need that “

people are hard to figure out - but if you know their flag, their favourite Pokémon, their anime crush and what colour their hair is today - well, you don’t need to worry so much about confusing facial expressions and oblique language with bemusing tone.

Photosymphysis · 26/06/2022 09:39

If forced, I might denote my special identity to be (as described by gender wiki)

Agender, due to "Not knowing or not caring about gender, as an internal identity and/or as an external label."

Genderqueer, as "Those who do not or cannot place a name to their gender"

Non-binary, since at best I "Have a neutral or unrecognized gender identity, such as agender"

And also (from stonewall): "Non-binary
An umbrella term for people whose gender identity doesn’t sit comfortably with ‘man’ or ‘woman’. Non-binary identities are varied and can include people who identify with some aspects of binary identities, while others reject them entirely." since the stereotypes used to define 'woman' and 'man' in these examples are outdated and oppressive.

Though, as @Metabigot says actually Cassgender is probably the closest: "Cassgender is a gender identity where one feels that their gender is unimportant, or is indifferent to the idea of gender. Cassgender is unlike agender, as a cassgender individual might identify as a particular gender, but they don't feel it is an important part of their identity."

When it comes to pronouns, it's an important part of my identity that I don't care about gender and so I will live my authentic truth by using sex-based pronouns. It would be phobic to compel me to do any different.

As such a special human I expect my opinions on everything to be given the proper attention and protection such special humans deserve. Thanks OP for bringing this opportunity to truly find my authentic self.

There, I have come out. Celebrate ME.

PomegranateOfPersephone · 26/06/2022 09:47

@Metabigot 🤢you are right that is a price too high to pay.

I might identify as tortoise gender, I reckon I could live on salad in return for spending the entire winter snuggled up somewhere warm and undisturbed.

@stealtheatingtunnocks That is an interesting theory. I wonder if it wouldn’t be better for them and us if we could acknowledge their neurodiversity and take reasonable account of that rather than the genders, but I see what you are saying it makes it easier for them to cope with everyone else if everyone else agrees to be categorised… still seems a bit of a big ask of the rest of us.

babyjellyfish · 26/06/2022 09:47

I think we should all identify as non binary.

The non binary people would be furious but they wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 09:48

It really is sad to see women being deliberately gleeful and mean

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 26/06/2022 09:53

you don’t like women being gleeful?

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 26/06/2022 09:54

Means a bit different but gleeful?

I think women have had enough of being redefined as people who conform to feminine stereotypes so that they can be forced to share their single sex spaces and sporting categories with male people, and prioritise those male people's rights over our own.

And I personally have had enough of "non binary women" whose whole identity revolves around them believing that they are special, and not boring normies like the rest of us, and reserving the right for themselves not to be forced into a box with people like Lia Thomas, whilst insisting that we remain in that box.

Fight fire with fire.

Belovedfool · 26/06/2022 10:11

I'm catgender too. Sleep or party modes mainly, with a side order of sitting on the bins gazing dreamily into the woods.

My pronouns are chicken/dreamies and I'll bite if you get 'em wrong.

Woke scoldings will be treated with the respect they deserve - a casual vomit over the top and scrape to bury.

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 10:12

Yes, there is plenty mean glee in the OP and subsequent posts.

I don't have an issue with people fighting for womens' rights, but I do have an issue with the spite that seems to come with it.

PS, you cant have a non binary woman.

Btw, your summing up as trans as purely people who want access to spaces is nonsense.

thats not what you said

you said gleeful and mean…thats two different things

now youve said mean glee, that makes even less sense to be honest

I'm summing it up in terms of the impact on the rest of us, which is what I actually care about.

Non binary people are literally as binary as everyone else on the planet. They are either male or female, like the rest of us.

Rufus, I've NCed, you actually know who I am.

However - you know what I mean. the glee of deliberately disregarding peoples' feelings.

Please do explain it to us.

PomegranateOfPersephone · 26/06/2022 10:32

As I am tortoise gender I shall expect 16 weeks of paid hibernation leave during the coldest Winter months…

I just told my 14 year old about cat gender. The flag met with approval. Apparently there is a fellow school pupil at the local secondary who is pony gender.

Now I am thrown back into doubt, pony gender might actually be my true self coming to think about it. I spent much of childhood as a pony…

I never know who anyone is 😩

but i do agree that there are comments that I wouldn’t say as i feel they are mean

trouble is some things are just so stupid or wrong people can’t help but take the piss and it’s upsetting to people that honestly struggle with their identity

WOMEN! KNOW YOUR PLACE! the correct way for ladies to behave is to be demure, to defer and to hashtagbekind.

Mate, I’m the mother of these people. I need a fucking laugh, it’s exhausting to parent. At some point my patience wears out and I need to vent because it’s so FUCKING STUPID.

Someone has to frame the facts to people who want to live in a fantasy so that they can live happy and productive lives.

sex is real. You can’t escape it. All you can do is manage your upset if your sex. upsets you.

I’ll wave a flag for “mean and gleeful”. categorise me as that if you wish. I don’t give a fuck mate.

Im doing my best here.

nailsathome · 26/06/2022 10:36

So what am I if I'm gender free, left handed, female, over 40, mum and bisexual? Do I get my own category and flag?

I'm no mate of yours.

So if it was your child struggling with their identity, youd be Ok with people taking the piss out of them and talking about ponies would you?

You're just so brave and strong, but shame it's not you living it and you're just writing essays on the internet being oh so clever.

I identify as a cat. There. Meow!

I identify as a 6 foot slim blonde.

Sadly my clothes don't agree. It's literal violence and I need to rage somewhere about it.
