Fck it. Just going to identify as agender as a GC feminist.

I'm technically agender anyway as I choose to not believe in gender woo.

If males can infiltrate feminism by saying they're women I'm infiltrating transgendersism by identifying as agender.

If I'm asked my gender identity why shouldn't I say this, it's technically true according to stonewall.

Quite like the idea of being a double agent of sorts....

But you dont. Because your anger at this whole thing (rightly so) is based on what nutters are saying on twitter.

No, it's based on the entitled narcissism and misogyny of the whole ideology. The complete disregard for women and girls. And the regressive, circular stupidity of believing that women are not women because they are female, but because they conform to sets of stereotypes which only exist in the first place because biological sex exists. And the blinkered refusal to grasp or engage with any of this.

CandyLeBonBon · 26/06/2022 13:47

boys are more likely to live by the principle of dont be a dick rather than the group of what people fall into.

I don't know what experiences you've had that l lead you to think this but the stats on male violence against women/girls and against trans identified people of whichever gender would suggest that to be incorrect.

Violent bigotry is most definitely male-dominated and whilst you may be right about younger boys being more accepting, that doesn't seem to be the case as they get older if they stats are anything to go by?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 13:47

Now I'm sure someone will be along to tell me it's because theyre all misogynists who want to erase women, but the reality is, boys are more likely to live by the principle of dont be a dick rather than the group of what people fall into.

That is absurd. Men are often dicks, but they accept FTM trans people into their spaces because they pose no threat to them or any of their rights and privileges. Men loftily talk down to women on what we should do, because they never question themselves. Men are frequently vile to women online. Like them, you are trying to weaponise female socialisation against women.

CandyLeBonBon · 26/06/2022 13:49

For clarification when I say violent bigotry I'm referring to homophobia and misogyny as well as actual transphobia

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 13:49

I think polls have show that young men are increasingly becoming more sexist, not less. Pandering to an ideology entirely based on sex stereotypes is hardly going to help.

Certainly anecdotally that's what it feels like. The rise of incel types getting more oxygen is definitely in evidence.

I think Place is a troll pretending to be a genderist?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 13:59

However, i still think that we choose to see transwomen as trying to infiltrate or erase our reality, while in actual fact, for whatever reason, the vast majority are trying to be part of it.

But they can't be part of it, it isn't possible, and I frequently find their male ideas of what being a woman is like offensive. Should they stop, because of that?

Ohnohedident · 26/06/2022 13:59

think what you like.

Another example of why I say MN is cliquey. If you don't agree, you must be a troll.

I'm more offended by you calling me a "genderist", whatever one of them is, than a troll.

Being trans is not misogynistic.

Thanks for being reasonable with me, Candy.

IME, teenage boys and girls are both accepting. As the age progresses, I don't think men are remotely interested in transmen. They may be violent towards transwomen, but I find young men on the whole to be far more accepting than women.

Sorry, but I have no idea what weapon female socialisation means.

Being trans is not misogynistic.

I'm not saying every person with a gender identity is a misogynist. I don't subscribe to the ideology, so I only think that some (tiny number of) people have the psychological condition of gender dysphoria. I read an excellent essay yesterday. I might start a thread about it.

It's the ideology I find misogynistic, it's baked into it.

PomegranateOfPersephone · 26/06/2022 14:07

@Ohnohedident you could certainly be forgiven for thinking so. I do remember a recent poster, different name of course, who had a similar MO pretending to share a “gender critical” way of thinking but in fact insulting other posters and being unnecessarily hostile and argumentative.

Sometimes we seem to get posters who make me wonder if they just enjoy wasting women’s time or getting a rise out of us. They quickly become ever so emotional and have very little to contribute in the way of rational argument.

So do you think the minority of people have gender dysphoria, and the rest are chancing it? Genuinely?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 14:08

Yes I remember a similar past poster as well.

Also known as having a different opinion to a small number who seem to believe they rule the boards.

Your words, not mine. Quite judgemental of you. But I personally don't believe in "trans" as an innate thing other than the small number of people with GD. Read the essay, it's good.

It's not judgemental, it's pretty much what you said. You clearly believe that trans people are either delusional or have bad intentions, you've said that.

the poster you seem to be implying I am isn't me, however, I would rather be them, becoming 'emotional' over a massively sensitive issue for so many people, other than someone on the internet sitting on my lord status chair criticising other people for "wasting my time" and prioritising "rational" argument over people's actual feelings and lives, every day of the week.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 14:12

You need to stop trying to put statements into peoples mouths. It's poor behaviour in a debate.

Well, the problem is you're not making a clear argument.

You say a small number have gender dysphoria , based on I'm not sure what exactly, but seem unable to tell me what you think the rest of them feel.

placewherewebelong · 26/06/2022 14:13
