It makes their moods all over the place.

I mean us perimenopausal women take hrt for few other essential functions as well, but just as long as your moods are even mate.

They can. HRT is a blanket term which can include gender affirming hormone therapy.

Other terms I can find being used are - Feminising Hormone Treatment and Estrogen Hormone Therapy.

The NHS refer to cross-sex hormone treatment or therapy - www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/treatment/

HRT is a term used to describe hormone replacement therapy in females.

Well, I actually thought you were stupid but now its confirmed....

Another blanket statement. Care to elaborate.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 21:38

Google "Cross sex Hormones" and look on the right hand side for it's alternate definition

You mean the link to a Wikipedia page, buried within screeds of websites referring to cross sex hormone therapy?

I'm pretty sure you insisted on credible sources earlier?

Nah, you're clearly a bright cookie. You can do a bit of thinking for yourself, I'm sure. I'm off to wash the chess board.

Yes but the argument you make is completely different isn't it. You imply that someone cannot be a Trans Women at all because their sex is different to yours when it's also determined by their Gender.

and for the last time please dear god just look at the figures for how many Trans Women are taking up these HRT drugs because it's less than 1%. You can go through these messages and find the 4 posts i've mentioned the same exact thing with the same 2 articles that directly contradict each other

Lovely, thanks for the condescending comment. I guess your too lazy to give a proper response so it makes me wonder why I bothered responding to you

Hi all, we are getting a lot of reports on this thread especially pertaining to language. Just a gentle reminder that any posts referring to Trans women as men will be deleted.

Literally the first sentence of the Transgender Hormone Therapy article

Transgender hormone therpy, also called hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT)

Yes. On Wikipedia. There's a good reason why Universities, colleges and schools generally dissuade students from citing Wikipedia as a source.

Thus, not a credible source.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2022 22:05

can’t even bring myself to read those articles. I had to have a radical hysterectomy, so ovaries and everything out in my 30s and here I am sat at home with hot fucking flushes because I haven’t been able to fill my script today. Total bloody disgrace.

Am just wondering what they are, then, and at what point the magical transition / transubstantiation takes place?

Perhaps Mumsnet will let us know at what point biological males transform into biological females and what magic is used to effect this process? Can I use it to turn myself into a man even if I don’t feel trans at all? Then I could be a biological man who is really female inside, so would I still be a woman? Or not?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2022 22:07

You imply that someone cannot be a Trans Women at all because their sex is different to yours when it's also determined by their Gender.

That's right. Woman is a sex based term. Adult human female. Gender is a regressive social construct. Have a gold star.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2022 22:12

Surely there is a more disturbing rise in toxic masculility, incels, pickup artists, groups that preach for equality but really belittle it like Men Going There Own Way

There is. It's all different facets of the same misogyny and entitlement that we see from all male people who don't like hearing the word no from women.

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 22:26

I just want to point out by the way that just today 36 articles have appeared on "Feminism: Sex & gender discussions" with the vast majority hating on both Trans Women and Men when compared to the base "Feminism and women's rights chat" which only has 6 articles as of today.

At this point even if you justify the hatred as a difference of opinion MumsNet is obsessed with the topic to a point that is downright not healthy

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 22:28

and it's no different to Mens Rights Activists being in direct opposition to Feminism. You are perpetuating the same kind of hatred and inequality you wish to distinguish

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 22:29

and as a final reminder. Feminism means equal rights for everyone. If it means excluding the 1% then it isn't feminism, at least that's what it used to mean

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 04/06/2022 22:33

Yes, the special forum that a load of people said they wanted (so they could discuss other forms of feminism without gender-critical feminists) is dead as a dodo, and all the people who said they wanted it are still in this forum, telling us off. Believe me, I've noticed.

Have you done a thread count on Style & Beauty, the Ebay forum, and Secondary Education, too?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2022 22:36

Feminism isn't about anyone other than women. It's not the movement for "equal rights for everyone". It's a movement to advance and protect the rights of female people, half the world's population and the disadvantaged sex class of the two. Hope that helps.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 04/06/2022 22:36

That's egalitarianism.

Feminism is the civil rights movement for women. We make up 50% of the planet, so by definition, it's damn inclusive.

Trans Rights Activism is the rights movement for trans people. You can't have ours focused on you as well.

I wish you wouldn’t label informed opinion as “hatred” - it’s such an extreme word to use.

Waitwhat23 · 04/06/2022 22:39

This was by another poster but I thought it was so good that I saved it -

'Feminist action is essentially gender critical, because feminism centres women. Activism that centres other groups may be good or bad, but it isn't feminism. Since, by definition, men are not women, any activism that centres men (such as liberal feminism) is not feminist. If it centres men to the detriment of women, it is anti-feminist.'

slowpoke5001 · 04/06/2022 22:40

Yep so looking through style and beauty there appears to be about 60 posts, nothing for Ebay and less posts on secondary education.

but i'm talking about the threads specifically dedicated to Feminism. Not every woman is a Feminist for a start

The fact that a lot of posts in this thread alone have been took down for calling Trans Women Men, yes it is hatred.
