I wanted to hear more thoughts from women who actually don't accuse Amber for being"a faker". I don't want to tip toe around it or argue with people over same thing over and over while they pretend they are unbiased when in fact they just support Depp.

A lot has already been said and I know you need to have diverse opinions for better conversation etc but on the other thread I am, I'm so tired of people victim blaming and chewing over stuff with little substance so I wanted to make a separate one where we can follow the rest of the trial and outcome with our comments and observations(without constantly arguing about feminist basics).

My last thought was that AH witnesses have been consistent so far and have been wondering if they pulled away from her because they didn't want the drama surrounding it(instead of actually finding her guilty, like Depp fans are suggesting).

I'm following it over Sky over ones with commentary(every day around 1-2 afternoon UK time, 9 in the morning US time I believe..trial ends next week, think someone said 27th)

All observations welcome. What stood out to you so far?

i watched some, i cant watch all of it, it will take days. but the things that JD did are unacceptable.

They clearly aren't. If you don't want to deal with anything that might confront your biases or predetermined conclusions, then it is best to avoid the evidence. I don't think it is possible for anyone to watch the trial, examine the evidence and come away believing what people on this thread believe. Their beliefs are disproven by evidence they choose not to look at.

I think it is impossible that someone could watch the trial and think she is telling the truth.

People who are informed about the insidious nature of family violence and the ingrained misogyny at play in our systems understand why people like you are sucked in by the poor man narrative. We pity you for your ignorance.

And the hand and phone forensics experts also threw q lot of doubt on his allegations that she cut off his finger and photoshopped the pictures

His account of the cutting was far more convincing than hers.

And she bas been proven to be lying on several occasions.

I dont contest that he was drunk and troubled and toxic but she knew that when she married him.

I think some people can convince themselves of anything. Facing the fact that someone who was once a hot young actor is a misogynistic, violent and washed up junkie with no impulse control is clearly too hard for many.

That's if you take the testimonies at face value. I think Pennington was seen to have lied after her original testimony abs her testimony was seen to be disapproved afterwards but she had to stick to it. She was very muddled about her witness statement. First saying she write it alone and emailed it, then saying her lawyers gave her a template type thing, then She admitted her lawyers may have written it based on what she said and she signed it.

Same with Drew who clearer disliked JD.

I agree Henriquez's was damning.

Who is Adam’s? Don't think I watched that.

Depps agent who said he was getting a reputation for being late/drunk/angry on set and it was making it hard for him to find work.

I am not surprised Drew would dislike Depp if he saw Depp beating up his girlfriend, being aggress towards him and trashing the place.
Why would Drew be friendly to him after that?

Can you link to the testimony where Drew says he saw Depp beating up his girlfriend? I listened to Drew's recorded deposition and that wasn't in it.

@Leopolds She did not perjure herself. She said she uses “donate” and “pledge” interchangeably as do a lot of people who donate a large sum of money to charity.

JD, however had lied multiple times under oath but you seem to be overlooking that.

HE brought this on himself. Amber is the victim and this court case is just further evidence of his abuse against her.

@Leopolds The charities have come out and said that she pledged the amount over 10 years. She still plans on giving the money but fell behind on the payments because she’s having to shell out for lawyers to defend herself against JD. I don’t doubt that she will make good on her promise when she’s able.

Also reactive abuse is a thing. People are just mad that she didn’t just cower and take the abuse without fighting back.
