RM telling BC he shouldn't focus on 2019 away days and keeps repeating 14 weeks off until March 2019, so he is counting 2018 away days.

The Garrick Club has a tie described as 'salmon and cucumber', diagonal stripe.

tabbycatstripy · 17/05/2022 11:11

RM isn’t the examining barrister and he needs to stop trying to direct the questioning. He comes across as deeply petulant.

SpindleInTheWind · 17/05/2022 11:13

Rajiv Menon is supposed to be an expert on the abuse of power ffs.

He must surely see what his Chambers did to Allison? Maybe his tetchiness is to cover up some residual shame he hasn't yet recognised in himself that this shitshow (a) happened, and (b) probably reflects badly on him.

The fact that this is being played out in public, in front of many journalists, is a bonus, but not for him.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 17/05/2022 11:15

I think the other barristers forget who's doing the cross examining. It's understandable, but it does come across poorly.

tabbycatstripy · 17/05/2022 11:22

So what we need (really) is whether AB took similar amounts of time off in other years, and also whether other barristers who took similar amounts of time off also experienced the same financial detriment.

ickky · 17/05/2022 11:23

Regardless of how much time she had off, you can clearly see that the clerks were not putting work her way.

Just confirmed 54% loss

Signalbox · 17/05/2022 11:23

He's coming across as dim now not understanding that a year by year comparison needs to be made.

Signalbox · 17/05/2022 11:24

I wonder why though AB hasn't presented evidence of how much time she had off in previous years. Or has she?

tabbycatstripy · 17/05/2022 11:25

‘Regardless of how much time she had off, you can clearly see that the clerks were not putting work her way.’

Perhaps that they weren’t putting appropriate work her way.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 17/05/2022 11:25

One of my biggest bugbears is when people start sentences with 'Look' - it really grinds my gears.

Politicians do it all the fecking time...except the lovely Jackie Doyle Price.

stimpyyouidiot · 17/05/2022 11:26

BC is very good isn't he !

tabbycatstripy · 17/05/2022 11:26

“Look...” is a filler. They’re thinking.

Signalbox · 17/05/2022 11:27

Menon doesn't make a very good witness. He's too used to being on the other side of things.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 17/05/2022 11:27

It's also cultural. Nearly every Australian sportsman starts a sentence with 'Look...'

ickky · 17/05/2022 11:28

It was primarily clerked at the earlier date, after she brought her case.

exwhyzed · 17/05/2022 11:28

They are really really angry at Allison aren't they.

Is that what his accent is? I've got accent deafness and I was trying to work it out.

He's dripping with resentment.

chilling19 · 17/05/2022 11:29

Menon is really pissed off with Allison and seems to be taking her case against chambers as a personal insult. He is displaying no understanding that his chambers discriminated against her. Couldn't possibly happen in his chambers, no, no, no. Bloody woman.

ickky · 17/05/2022 11:30

exwhyzed · 17/05/2022 11:28

Yes I think they are, yesterday RM ranted on about how AB was suing every single person at GCC.

OP posts:
tabbycatstripy · 17/05/2022 11:32

Yes, he’s very angry.

There are also some other issues here to do with taking time off, being ‘ambitious’, and probably with being ‘uppity’ as a black female junior. I strongly feel that this treatment would not have been meted out to a white, heterosexual male without any significant health issues.

ZandathePanda · 17/05/2022 11:36

You would have thought they would be more composed. I am not on the live screening - is it really coming across as though the lawyers can’t control their anger when being questioned?

ZandathePanda · 17/05/2022 11:36

Oo cross posted!
