I think a lot of the deleted post would be where anyone forgot Grace's gender.

LittleSnakes · 07/04/2022 17:05

I did indeed temporarily forget Grace’s gender. It wasn’t even deliberate. I was just listening to the radio and posting while I have a very ill kid in bed sleeping next to me.

Women all around the world are forced to capitulate to patriarchal forces.

And then we are here again.

Fuming.

And fuming that I've had to alter my language too.

borntobequiet · 07/04/2022 17:11

Goodness me, just listened to it. What a load of tosh.
The preceding interview was heartbreaking.

LittleSnakes · 07/04/2022 17:11

I know. Fucks me right off too.

LittleSnakes · 07/04/2022 17:12

That was a response to warrior

WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 17:15

I got a post deleted that theorised that Grace's identity as a clever person is possibly more important to Grace than their identity as a female person, hence the impenetrable academic verbosity.

I have absolutely no idea in what way that broke Talk guidelines. I mean, it fell short of being flattering to Grace, but I believe it was a fair point of discussion. No slurs, no misgendering (as far as I'm aware - I'm usually careful, though obvs there's always the possibility of an inadvertent slip.) I'm quite cross about it.

NecessaryScene · 07/04/2022 17:15

If "gender" is supposed to be some sort of sex stereotype, I'm not sure Grace is the gender Grace claims to be. Grace might want to rethink. Wink

impenetrable academic verbosity yes it really was this.

MidsomerMurmurs · 07/04/2022 17:19

@WinterTrees I have absolutely no idea in what way that broke Talk guidelines

It didn’t. There must be special secret guidelines that cover most deletions on this part of Mumsnet.

fluffiphlox · 07/04/2022 17:20

I think I got deleted because I called Grace the wrong thing.

YesSheCan · 07/04/2022 17:21

@DomesticatedZombie

How have things come to the point where someone can proclaim a TQ++ identity and this somehow gives them immunity from any consequences if they behave abusively and with no regard for other people's boundaries?

A cynic might say that was reverse-engineering.

Yes, one might. Not topic of this thread, I know, but a recent example of where this might turn out to be the case springs to mind.

Yes, and listening on the radio meant I couldn’t see their dress.
MsTSwift · 07/04/2022 17:22

I thought it was Russell Brand at first wondered why he was on WH similar speaking style and voice - though Russell Brand though verbiose usually at least makes sense.

LittleSnakes · 07/04/2022 17:23

I wonder if we could get Grace on here as a guest speaker!

LK1972 · 07/04/2022 17:24

Yep, wrong pronouns in my deleted post, forgot we're not allowed to trust our ears and need to check everyone's pronouns before discussing their comments on the radio.

LittleWhingingWoman · 07/04/2022 17:24

Love how Grace thinks there's not many Terfs around. What Grace doesn't realise is that lots of Terfs have been going to Grace's talks and silently taking note of the gaslighting and Grace promotion.

I’d be willing to bet that none of the deleted posts were referring anybody’s gender.

Seems that Grace thinks that Grace has actually changed sex though. Woman is just a bunch of oestrogen and a spiritual hot tub moment.

Does that make GL a TERF? Thinking that it's the hormones that change your sex?

That got deleted?! It didn't break the guidelines, surely?

Don't even know if any of mine have got deleted. Am usually a lurker on here so not an experienced poster and have probably been guilty of wrongspeak already

WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 17:33

The thing is with pronouns, you can compel people to use them on a public forum and demand that posts not doing so are deleted.

You can't compel how people think of you.

You can deploy the scold's bridle as much as you like but women still have thoughts. We're still managing to speak around your language policing and our voices are being heard.

MarchXX · 07/04/2022 17:34

@Plasmodesmata

I can guess why there were deletions. This thread for some reason has been appearing in "Trending Now" all day. Usually threads from this board don't, even if they are busy. This means that there have been people commenting who don't usually frequent this board and don't know The Rules.
Sigh, I was one of the 'deleted' and it's a first for me as I am not a regular on this board. I can guess why. Apparently telling the truth can be triggering.

No matter I can carefully state that my 85 year old mum and I listened to WH today and she was baffled as Grace's inane comments "Grace is saying lots of words yet actually saying nothing of substance at all" is the gist. Hopefully this comment gets a pass.

Grace is pretending to believe their own propaganda that TERFs are evil people who are a danger to trans people. Really women couldn't give a rats arse if GL wants to do a book tour of the UK. Grace is probably a bit annoyed that they are not getting more attention Grin
