In my honest opinion JK Rowling is...

The TRA religion are at it again prompted by one of the Witchfinder lackeys and his now deleted tweets.

Well so are we.

In my honest opinion, JK Rowling is brilliant, wise, beautiful. A protector of children, a Shield-maiden for women. She has shown more bravery and grace than the cowards around her. She never bows to their rape and death threats. She's probably the safest person around children that I can imagine. Especially the vulnerable and confused young people who have been persuaded by social media that they have been born in the wrong body and who have been encouraged to amputate body parts and take unnecessary and dangerous medication.

She's the definition of courage.
She is Lady Lionheart.

I was just laughing at that - quite a lot of very baffled Americans wondering what on earth a space hopper is (the American equivalent appears to be Hippity Hop and they sell them in gas stations apparently)

Waitwhat23 · 05/04/2022 13:49

It's turned into pogo stick appreciation now 😆

Ha! She's awesome.

Truthlikeness · 05/04/2022 13:56

Incredibly brave and principled. Courage calls to courage everywhere.

Artichokeleaves · 05/04/2022 13:58

She truly is a bloody patronus. Doing much the same job, boggart-wise.

We are down to the nuts and bolts now: women having rights (or even mentioning wanting rights) is incompatible with the TQ+ agenda.

I'll take that as there being something fundamentally wrong with the agenda, since I can see exactly why women refusing to shut up about their rights and hand them over to male people are obviously not evil.

nauticant · 05/04/2022 13:58

Imagine if someone had told you this at the Millennium:

In a couple of decades many politicians, political parties, institutions, companies, the universities, charities, the police, the NHS, and the rest, will claim to believe that a man can become a woman simply by stating he is, and will attempt to re-order society to comply with this belief, and one of the few people with any influence who will stand up to resist this will be a middle-aged woman who had become a (dollar) billionaire through writing books for children.

Fact can be stranger than fiction.

QuirkyTurtle · 05/04/2022 14:07

I love Harry Potter and JK Rowling, they are my childhood.

But this thread is the cringiest thing I've ever read.

Tiphaine · 05/04/2022 14:14

She's glorious. Her intervention was a game-changer and she irrevocably altered the trajectory of the debate around whether women exist as whole human beings, or are nothing more substantial than fifties stereotypes and a special feeling some men get.

Good storyteller too.

Waitwhat23 · 05/04/2022 14:18

You want to see cringy? Go check out Ribbony Feartie's Twitter page - it's amazingly fawning, over a man in a sub rate soap who likes to harass women and has had to subside into silence because of his ill thought out comments.

Anyway!

Tiphaine · 05/04/2022 14:19

Out of interest, what did the 'cringiest thread evah' posters expect to see when they read the title and opened the thread?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 05/04/2022 14:20

She's a legend.

Waitwhat23 · 05/04/2022 14:23

Pogo sticking dinosaur for fun

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 05/04/2022 14:26

A fucking marvel.

Wrong about spacehoppers though. They were great!

They expected to shame you into shutting up about JK Rowling.
Waitwhat23 · 05/04/2022 14:29

Sorry, that gif posted twice!

Is it, aye? Is it cringe to say you admire a woman? How come?

Abso-bleedin-lutely!
Waitwhat23 · 05/04/2022 14:34

@domesticatedzombie 'is it, aye?' gave me a wee laugh as it made me think of Kevin Bridges' 'did ye, aye?' sketch.

nepeta · 05/04/2022 14:36

She is admirable and brave. She spoke up because she understood that many of us could not, given the social ostracism and perhaps even loss of livelihood that speaking publicly for women today can cause.

She pointed out that the seat at the decision-making table the trans ideology wants is already taken by women's rights, and when she offered the trans ideology an empty seat to pull up, they refused and continue to attack her for not letting them vacate that women's rights chair.

She didn't have to do all this or to then suffer the vitriol aimed at her. She didn't do this for selfish reasons, and she is certainly not benefiting from it financially. But it was the right thing to do, and by taking a stand she has made it easier for others to do so.

FitAt50 · 05/04/2022 14:42

She is amazing and I have nothing but respect and admiration for her. I consider myself a trans ally, and nothing she has said has been anti trans, she is just pro women.

ladymalfoy · 05/04/2022 15:17

I quit the teaching agency I was with ( and a long term teaching post) because I was told to use gender not sex.
I was hauled before the female HT for explaining in class the difference between sex and gender.
With new agency now but I’d take the loss of earnings over the last month again just to prove that I know what a woman is and I will not lie to pupils.
Love you JK and so does my DD who is 8 and knows what a woman is.

Exactly.
CaveMum · 05/04/2022 15:38

She is a wonderful, generous and brave woman. If we had a Presidential system and she announced she was standing for election I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

Perhaps we should encourage her to set up a new political party with her as the leader.....?

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 05/04/2022 17:25

She's wonderful!

MaryAndHerNet · 05/04/2022 17:28

If JKr decided to start a political party, I'd vote for her and it.
