In my honest opinion JK Rowling is...

The TRA religion are at it again prompted by one of the Witchfinder lackeys and his now deleted tweets.

Well so are we.

In my honest opinion, JK Rowling is brilliant, wise, beautiful. A protector of children, a Shield-maiden for women. She has shown more bravery and grace than the cowards around her. She never bows to their rape and death threats. She's probably the safest person around children that I can imagine. Especially the vulnerable and confused young people who have been persuaded by social media that they have been born in the wrong body and who have been encouraged to amputate body parts and take unnecessary and dangerous medication.

She's the definition of courage.
She is Lady Lionheart.

@Eeksteek

I thing she’s a wonderful champion of women and I admire her tremendously, but I do think she’s anti-trans, and it feels pretty pointed. It’s clear she thinks that it isn’t possible to be deeply feminist and pro trans and while I can see her point, I don’t agree. Although it’s a lot more complex than can be twittered in 160 characters (or whatever it is), so it’s probably a bust.
As we are all being polite here, could I ask you to explain, in detail not just a repetition of "she is", what it is she has said and or done that is anti trans?

I am 'deeply feminist' and am absolutely and utterly anti TRA. But I know and support trans people as friends, have done for decades. They are not the ideologists that are trying to tear women's rights asunder.

That, as far as I can tell from what I have actually read form her on this, is pretty nmuch what JKR feels too. As do many of the posters here, given the oft repeated explanations of the above that we all feel obliged to type up every now and then.

So what is it you have read, that JKR has written, that is anti trans?

ValenciaOrange · 05/04/2022 10:07

Brave, strong and principled.

Ramayquaza · 05/04/2022 10:11

Phenomenal, inspiring, and wise

AsTreesWalking · 05/04/2022 10:12

A woman of substance

Calennig · 05/04/2022 10:13

An inspiration.

Her writting inspired my children and encouraged them to read.

Her standing for womne's rights is an inspriation to me.

It is shocking how many people who condem her haven't actually read what she wrote but other's interpretation of it - that was a lesson for DD1.

jumpedintwice · 05/04/2022 10:17

A wonderful writer and a woman of great generosity, wisdom, integrity, compassion and bravery.

IStandWithMaya · 05/04/2022 10:18

JKR is great! And I'm not even a Harry Potter fan (sorry).

If you're reading this, JKR - thank you. Smile

@SomePosters

#TotallyNotACult
Unlike the TRAs on twitter who started this "In my honest opinion" shite jn the first place, and obsessively bang on about JKR's "transphobia" all day every day, aye.
Abhannmor · 05/04/2022 10:37

Rare, precious and beautiful. Brave and principled but best of all really decent. She cares for those less fortunate although she made all her own money. Flowers

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 05/04/2022 10:51

I reeeaaally want to report the cult posts

I am being soooooooo good

I feel I am maturing as a person…JKRs good influence no doubt

saleorbouy · 05/04/2022 10:54

She's in the fortunate financial position to be able to say exactly as she believes and not worry about it affecting her future employment.
Unfortunately many cannot go with their conviction and are actively hounded out of their jobs if they hold her views.
I think she's great and a voice for many others who must remain silent for fear of persecution by the woke brigade.

Palmfrond · 05/04/2022 11:01

Phenomenally composed and gracious in the face of how she’s been treated.
Also talented, funny, successful & canny.
What a woman!

bellinisurge · 05/04/2022 11:01

A legend

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 05/04/2022 11:09

JKR - is a woman who makes you proud to be a woman.

latetothefisting · 05/04/2022 11:23

@JoodyBlue

She is the person who made "the choice between what is right and what is easy" and came down on the right side, entirely to her own detriment and for no other reason than standing for truth. She is immense.
Yes this. I also think of the bit in PS where Dumbledore gives Neville house points because it's harder to stand up to your friends than your enemies. It's easy to be "good" when all the "nice" and "kind" people in your echo chamber agree with you, it's really hard when the people you'd usually agree with on lots of other things/side with politically denounce you - that shows real bravery and determination and conviction.
Torunette · 05/04/2022 12:30

In my honest opinion, JK Rowling is a new Boudicca.

All she needs is a bit of woad and a chariot with swords on the wheels.

Fimofriend · 05/04/2022 12:32

The TRAs think we are going to bow down to them. They underestimate women. We will never give up.

JoodyBlue · 05/04/2022 12:48

@BunnyBerries

Lumos.

Women and girls worldwide were in the dark feeling unable to speak and she bravely stood up and gave them all the word for light. Instantly they knew that they could hold up their own wand and when they stood together, they could not be ignored.

It’s also the name of her charity for children and I can think of no more fitting word.

She also rocks a cape.
Love all your books Jo : )

@BunnyBerries - I love this.
RomeoOscarXrayIndigoEcho · 05/04/2022 12:51

How do I love her? Let me count the ways:

I loved her first for what she did to inspire a love of reading in the children of this world.

I loved her also for being the catalyst of so much creativity in others

I loved her second for her inspiring philanthropy

I loved her third for her defence of the concept of sex, her defence of children, her defence of women's rights and her defence of trans people too

I loved her fourth for her bravery in the face of so much hate

JKR = total Shero.

@RufustheFloralmissingreindeer

Seems we are allowed to use the cult word on this thread….weird
Strange what gets deleted, isn't it...
JoodyBlue · 05/04/2022 12:55

@GoodJanetBadJanet - they might, if you really put yourself on the line for your principles. Perhaps adoration is one of the things you deal with when you actually stand up for something eh? Something has to counterbalance all the sh*t you get.

JKR's latest tweet is fine, very fine:

BlancheB · 05/04/2022 13:43

JKR is able to articulate what the rest of us (most of us) haven't been able to say in public. Crazy times!

Thank you for speaking out on behalf of women and girls everywhere CakeBrewSmileit means so much!
