Are the wife and children really fine?

DancingBarefootOnIce · 22/03/2022 08:03

A man I used to be close friends with recently came out as a transwoman on Facebook. I was a bit surprised as when I knew them in their 20s they were just a typical man. They’re now mid 30s and married to a woman with three children.

Anyway in their post the second sentence was something along the lines of “Don’t worry my wife and children are fine”. I’ve seen it before in stories like this or when someone comes out as gay.
It’s almost like there’s going to be an accusation of homophobia or transphobia if they’re not alright with it. It just doesn’t feel right. If my partner or father came out with something like that it would change so many things in thinking about past relationships etc.

I've had my son's 11 year old friend round at my house crying because "he just wants his daddy to be a boy again". Now the dad wants to be called mum. How is that fair on the kids?

ErrolTheDragon · 22/03/2022 15:20

Did you want to try that again with syntax?

It was perfectly comprehensible.Confused

PinaColada123456 · 22/03/2022 15:23

@TeaKlaxon Did you want to try that again with syntax?

So that's your admission that you have no answer at all to my post? So you're admitting you're not posting in good faith and have no comeback at all, just petty insults? It says more about you and your true agenda that you cannot acknowledge an argument in good faith.

DrSbaitso · 22/03/2022 15:28

Did you want to try that again with syntax?

She doesn't need to. It parses just fine.

Is this all you've got?

EndaDay · 22/03/2022 15:32

@TeaKaxon

If your mind is so bendy that you can accept a man announcing he is a woman and his wife and kids being delighted for him, I'm quite sure you can understand a perfectly comprehensible post.

bracebrace · 22/03/2022 16:00

I wouldn't be fucking fine. Deceitful prick.

@TeaKlaxon

Oh hello more evidence that the people who most want to make it hard for trans people to come out at an early stage in their lives so they can be authentically themselves as early as possible, also want to shit on trans people who have come out much later in life because they live in a society that still forces people into the closet for years and years.
I take it this is a reference to those of us who believe that young children and teenagers shouldn't be embarking on medical treatment which will irreversibly change their bodies and the course of their adult lives to address a psychological problem. Those of us who think that taking puberty blockers isn't like pressing a pause button, given that it means the brain stops maturing and then the child is asked whether they want to go onto cross-hormones which will destroy their fertility and may also mean they never have a normal sexual response - a decision whose implications are totally beyond a child to understand. Those of us who think that any doctor who performs a double mastectomy on a teenage girl who has body dysmorphia and other signs of mental distress should be struck off.

Seems to me to be the opposite of deceitful...

Wouldnt it be worse for those involved to hide this from ones family?

"Obviously the sarcasm isn't working LOL"

You are quite clearly tone deaf and your flippancy is really really, I can't think of a better word, so I'll say horrible.[/quote]
I'm sorry you feel that way.

If there's a wya you feel I could get my message across with greater clarity, I'm all ears

Xoxo

I can’t fathom the “AGP has been discredited!” argument. There is a wealth of evidence to suggest that some men get off on the idea of being seen as women- the forced feminisation porn, actual verbal testimonies, all the videos of men in dresses ‘pleasuring themselves’ in women’s bathrooms...

There are much weirder fetishes. We don’t doubt that some people (like the woman who married the Berlin Wall) feel attraction to inanimate objects.

SamphiretheStickerist · 22/03/2022 16:38

Yes. It's like we have to tell those men they are liars in order to allow some other men to do something else!

Odd doesn't cover it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/03/2022 16:38

Yes.

Firstly we're not talking about men. We're talking about trans women.

Secondly, cis women can also feel attraction to themselves. It's a perfectly normal thing for both cis and trans women to experience.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/03/2022 16:58

Oh good, we're finally going to get an explanation of what the difference is between a transwoman and a man. Naturally, it won't involve gender stereotypes.

We're all ears, Elaine.

TheMarzipanDildo · 22/03/2022 16:59

ElaineFuchs

I wasn’t exclusively talking about TW.

Good job swerving the whole “no true Scotsman” thing though!

It’s not that I think getting off on the idea of yourself as a woman is especially objectionable, I just don’t want to have to participate in someone’s fetish, eg by having to validate their identity in a women’s changing room.

Don't interact with them in a changing room. They're there to get changed, nothing more.
TheMarzipanDildo · 22/03/2022 17:03

I’d hope so Elaine, but you can’t guarantee it:

Video not safe for work btw

Nnique · 22/03/2022 17:04

Kindly stop using that term.

C** is an offensive bollocks. The word for adult human females is women. No prefix required, no qualification required.

TheMarzipanDildo · 22/03/2022 17:04

(It’s a mrmenno song)

Don't interact with them in a changing room. They're there to get changed, nothing more.

Erm.... no, never mind. EF will simply assert some balderdash!

It’s my admission that I couldn’t work out what you meant because you expressed yourself with very little clarity.
