I am fine with him praising Quinn but he skips over the other conflicting arguments and issues over including transwomen in women's sport.

He is however spot on with the ridiculousness of major sports granting the prestige of the top competitions to places with dubious human rights records.

Meh, he's already got his own dubious human rights record - paying a woman to risk her life and health to provide him with a baby-to-order.

He's spot on about homophobia in football though, it would be amazing if a Premier League player would come out.

I was hopeful that he was just going to support LGB people in sport, but no, no LGB without the T. Disgraceful that he won't admit the unfairness even though it must be clear to him. Why is he getting a platform to spout this anti-women propaganda? Infuriating, hope he loses a lot of support.

Male sportspeople need to stand up for women's sports. Until they do that, they can fuck off.
Daley Thompson has publicly made a stand. Has anyone else? Has Andy Murray, who stands up for women in so many ways?

Really?

Don't people talking about "remarkable achievement" in a sporting context usually mean some kind of outstanding athletic performance? What trans athletes is he thinking of - or is this one of the other meanings of "remarkable?"

Be nice - and I mean it.
Be kind - and I mean you lot who say this (but do the opposite).
Don’t try to steal other peoples rights - win your own.
Be neighbourly - take out someone else’s bins, or ask if they need anything from the shops when you go out.
Be considerate - don’t be the arse who parks their car over someone else’s drive.
Step away from social media - and always ask before you post ‘do I want my granny to see this? Will this bite me on the bum in a few years?’
Be generous - not in financial terms but with your time, patience and understanding.
Be self-conscious - we don’t want to hear your opinions on everything, saw you pose and pout next to your dads open coffin, cosplay concentration camp victims for social media likes/shares, do a silly, jaunty little til tok dance next to your sick baby in an incubator…
Be dignified - rise above the idiots

Quinn is female

So many layers of pretence. The objections to transwomen in women’s sports are a result of anti-trans “fear and panic,” not rational objections to unfairness or to the integrity of women’s sports being undermined. Therefore people in their blind hatred must have equally objected to a nonbinary female, not on steroids, participating in women’s sports. Therefore Quinn’s achievement is “remarkable” and somehow more noteworthy than the achievements of their teammates.

What possesses a person to wrap himself up publicly in this many layers of bullshit? He has to know it’s all nonsense. And why is Channel 4 giving him a platform to spew it?

Why do you think that is Tom? Why aren't transmen making headways in men's sport like their stunning and brave sisters in women's sport. Why? What possible reason could there be?

I wonder if Tom ever thinks about what teams NB athletes like Quinn should play? What if Quinn was born with a penis and a male hormone profile? Does Tom still think they should play women's football? Or does it not affect Tom and Tom never wastes a second of his precious time to bother working it out?

I commented on a news thread about transwomen in sport being unfair and got accused of homophobia ( by a woman! ) There are just too many not-very-bright people in the world. I told her to Google Lia Thomas :)

Tom applauds the impressive achievements of trans athletes, “especially in the current climate of fear and panic around trans people” and adds that “there is no LGB without the T.”.

He can fuck right off. Disingenuous twit. Applauding the “achievements” of male athletes in female sport. Applauding atrocious, misogynistic cheats of the worst order.

Any athlete who knows what it takes to compete at the highest level should care about fellow athletes who are as dedicated as he is having their careers and achievements sabotaged by officially sanctioned blatant cheating. The fact he doesn’t does not reflect well on him at all.

Especially so soon after “Lia” Thomas’s egregious exploits deprived three female swimmers of their rightful podium places, as well as creating new “records” female swimmers will have no chance of beating.

Men like him are so quick to bleat about how trans people are being “bullied”, but they are the ones actually bullying women with their support for our exclusion from our own spaces, services and sports. Zero empathy for us. Zero.

I used to really respect him but now he honestly makes me sick.
