Some further info.

grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/what-happened-to-caroline-farrow
When it's all set out like this it's shows just how sustained and nasty Harrops behaviour was. And this is just one of the people he targeted.

beastlyslumber · 01/12/2021 07:53

Also here to comment on the Glinner article this morning. What they put Caroline through is utterly horrendous and I too will dig like a frenzied mole if it can help to bring about some justice Flowers

ButtonSister · 01/12/2021 07:55

The Guardian doesn't seem to have reported on this, quelle surprise

KittenKong · 01/12/2021 07:56

They are just trying to work out how to spin this as a spectacular win...

HandsOffMyRights · 01/12/2021 08:01

Pleased that he is finally facing the consequences of his years of misogyny, bullying, stalking and harmful gender ID led practice.

However, given the extent of his aggression and the huge number of complaints over many years, I am disappointed that he has not been permanently struck off and facing criminal charges.

By placing harmful gender ideology ahead of biological fact, this GP has placed his female patients in a dangerous position.

This whole pattern is deeply twisted and he and the Webberleys should be investigated further.

Ekofisk · 01/12/2021 08:03

The Times has reported on it though (sorry, don’t have a share token).

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/gp-suspended-over-offensive-tweets-to-people-who-oppose-trans-rights-9zmrp236v

Rubbish headline, but some nice nuggets:

The tribunal found that Harrop’s misconduct had impaired his fitness to practice and suspended his registration for a month.

It said: “The tribunal considered that Harrop’s actions in posting inappropriate tweets over a sustained period of time, in contradiction to the advice he was given, breached fundamental tenets of the profession.

“His actions brought the profession into disrepute, undermining public confidence in the profession and the standards of conduct expected from members of the profession.”

HandsOffMyRights · 01/12/2021 08:07

Thanks Eko
I can't comment on The Times piece unfortunately, but pleased to read the comments and see so many questioning just why this woman hating psychopath was allowed to run rabid for so long.

Thumpsquids · 01/12/2021 08:14

I smell a Crowd Funder in the making... 'Help Our Harrop'.

KittenKong · 01/12/2021 08:17

Did that other doctor pay his fine (the telly one who made up porkies about the NI politician)?

Lordamighty · 01/12/2021 08:19

His treatment of CF was shocking but unfortunately I think his posse of psychopaths will continue in the same vein & most of them have nothing to lose, unlike Harrop, as they are unemployed/unemployable.

Dwrcegin · 01/12/2021 08:22

After reading the Glinner substack, my initial thought is, my god what an utterly sinister man Harrop is.

How has he gotten away with such horrendous behaviour for so long?

highame · 01/12/2021 08:25

Wouldn't have thought so. He was way, way short on his fundraising. I suspect he'll drag it out until Arlene Forster chases him and I bet she will Grin. Not a fan of hers but love what she did
PatsArrow · 01/12/2021 08:46

Joss Prior and others are spinning this madly as a massive win for Harrop. Calling it a deserved 'holiday' then straight back to work. Even warned his leeches followers that the 'gender crust' will try and spin this as a win for them.

DARVO in the extreme. It's laughable.

PatsArrow · 01/12/2021 08:47

"Gender crits"

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/12/2021 08:53

I love taking unpaid leave that you then have to apply to get your job back for as a "holiday", personally.

PronounssheRa · 01/12/2021 08:53

If Joss Prior told me the sky was blue and grass was green I would go outside to check.

Let's recap, Harrop admitted a number of charges including intimidation, he was found impaired, his behaviour described as deplorable and was suspended.

That is not a win.

The MPTS website is really interesting, it has the outcomes of all hearings listed, a quick browse shows us that a finding of impairment isn't a certainty when a Dr goes before a tribunal, many are found not to be impaired.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2021 09:04

Does anyone have a share token for the Times article please?

Christian Jessen about Arlene Foster? No idea.
Ekofisk · 01/12/2021 09:14

Hopefully he’ll be clobbered with professional indemnity premiums now too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2021 09:14

Prior et al have no understanding of professional behaviour or ethics and certainly no experience of belonging to a regulated profession, no matter how some may choose to style themselves.

Manderleyagain · 01/12/2021 09:17

The daily mail article gets an important thing wrong - he admitted intimidating one person. It's good that they give the detail of what he did even when he was then found not to have intimidated, but they missed the important one.

Otherwise very good article, and good on John boyne for sharing. He is a perfect example of how the online activists turn well-meaning allies who aren't fully up to date with the current expectations, into peaked and skeptical critics.

I was really surprised that they didn't find he had intended to intimidate caroline farrow. All of the posting about her children, changing his banner and location to near where she lives, and the 'tick tock' clock emojis etc. They assessed most (or all?) of that evidence. I am sure the person on the Clapham omnibus would consider that to be an attempt at intimidation.

KittenKong · 01/12/2021 09:26

Any sensible person reading will make their own conclusions as to his motives behind his actions with regards to Caroline. It’s not rocket science.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2021 09:58

Thanks @RhymesWithOrange. Awful headline.

I don't know what chance of success that would have given the panel summary of her (I still can't believe that they wrote that and particularly about someone who wasn't giving evidence in person so that they couldn't come to a fuller assessment).
