Also really hard to understand how AH could possibly say he was unaware re guidance when his supervisor so clearly states he discussed it all with him.

Any adult should have known what he was doing wasn't appropriate. However, my recollection of the exchange was that the supervisor doesn't seem to have articulated anything clearly (upthread).

Was the supervisor female by chance? Maybe Harris didn’t listen?

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus - I was referring to the supervisor listed in the documents bread linked to - not the one who works with him at the surgery. This supervisor is responsible for all people at AH level in his region and referred him to the GMC based on concerns and complaints. This is the person who had official meetings with AH to discuss his SM behaviour. It's in the wordy screenshots bread link to from TribunalTweets

I still wonder whether AH gave the interview and information to Hunte with a belief that the Vice piece wasn't going to come out so soon and certainly not during the proceedings.

I think he knew exactly when it was going to be published and agreed the timing, he wanted to portray himself as a martyr to the cause and, as evidenced in that article, he thought/thinks he is untouchable.

There has to be something deeply wrong with a person who, in the middle of their tribunal, scuppers their chances so spectacularly.

Not to mention Hunte, who wrote the damn thing and Cohen who edits it!

None of them could see the writing on the wall, that was written in 10 foot high letters, using luminous paint, surrounded by arrows saying read this.

I don’t think he thinks in such a logical way. I just think he has poor impulse control and a love of flattery and being the centre of attention.

If they’re concerned about risk of repetition then ‘no action’ falls away. They HAVE to impose a sanction to manage that risk or tyr PSA will be all over it.

And I'm assuming vice also has an editor who approved the article.

That tweet does pretty much say that he can talk the talk re insight, but applies none of it in practice. So what he advised the the paramidec, basically.

Erasure now vanishingly unlikely then. Not impossible in law, but it’s really rare to go higher than the prosecution wants.

Harrop found to have brought the medical profession into disrepute.

He doesn’t even put much effort into talking it - when he could be demonstrating reflection he still downplays it and only admits things grudgingly.

Looks like Harrop's legal team agrees suspension is the least restrictive option?

GMC want suspension in AHs case. Discussing paragraphs in the nos 90s of the GMC Sanctions here, eg para 92 & 93. Para 97 is also appropriate

GMC saying multiple departures from expected practice, failure to remediate were unsuccessful altho GMC accepts that insight has moved on since then, at least partly

Erasure - GP doesn't feel this is appropriate and GMC doesn't want to move for this. Again the public profile of the case is important, time to develop his refelective process to be remediated. Suspension is the least
