The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

I'm always getting my comments held up so I have now put myself on the list to be emailed when my comments are posted and if anyone responds, this now gives me evidence of exactly how long it takes and what sort of impact that has. I do write and complain and recently I have pointed out that if they hold comments up until the afternoon, they are still censoring because the comments are unread.

Enough4me · 24/11/2021 23:04

I subscribe and if I get in very early think my posts are more likely to get in, but also some are rejected. I've had that on here before, it feels quite negative to feel disciplined when you see what TRAs can put on Twitter, but they are censored on the Times and MN so it's fair enough. I don't post on Twitter as the TRAs appear crazy on there.

I have noticed some regular Times posters disappear - generally coherent and well researched feminists . I hope they are OK and wonder if they are blocked.

I love j k Rowling
#istandwithjkrowling

She is a shining role model for all our girls, and a rebuke to all who look down on single mothers, stigmatise survivors of domestic violence, and who someone seem unhappy about any successful woman - or any woman at all with opinions, especially those who dare to say no to men

Rhannion · 25/11/2021 00:02

I called the PR company who work for JKR , reported the tweet, and called her publishers, which I have done before due to a Facebook post which was pulled in half an hour.
We can act to protect other women and we should.

buckeejit · 25/11/2021 00:28

Just adding my love & admiration for JKR.never thought she'd be able to improve on Harry Potter & then she consistently does.

potniatheron · 25/11/2021 10:11

What gets me about OJ and the other apologists' rhetoric is how reminiscent it is of those who would defend domestic violence. "She's a TERF"; "Their [the activists'] lives will be destroyed" and "Her house is huge, everyone knows where her house is anyway" are all very reminiscent of "She was winding me up", "She gives as good as she gets" and "She was wearing a miniskirt; she was asking for it".

merrymouse · 25/11/2021 10:26

I think it's very strange that OJ et al want people to be able to protest in front of her house, but they also seem to want her to ignore the fact that they are protesting in front of her house.

Is this a normal way to protest?

Thelnebriati · 25/11/2021 11:02

Its a normal way to protest outside of abortion clinics, and in that context its considered harassment.

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/11/2021 13:50

Does he? Does that mean hoarded of MNers should campaign against male mediocrity in the media in front of his? I mean I couldn't be arsed and think it's wrong but if he hunks it's proportional... I bet that would magically be dreadful though.
MrsTerryPratchett · 25/11/2021 13:51

Hoards obviously. Although I am a hoarder as well.

DrSbaitso · 25/11/2021 14:37

The three individuals involved have all now taken down their Twitter accounts because they couldn't take the backlash. After attempting to drive yet more harassment to Rowling. They can dish it out but they can't take it.

Ha!

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2021 00:21

What has Rowling done wrong?
That question was eloquently answered by writer and academic Joanna Williams, author of Women vs Feminism.
‘Her crime, ironically, is to deny the power of magic,’ Dr Williams said.
‘She believes it takes more than uttering a few special words for a man to transform into a woman — to say simply that because he identifies as a woman, he is a woman.’
Is there anyone outside the militant transgender lobby and some members of the liberal establishment who doesn’t also share this belief?

Excellent and very well-researched article.
Well, done Paul Bracci and Tim Stewart

Mollyollydolly · 27/11/2021 01:12

That's a good article thanks for posting.

beastlyslumber · 27/11/2021 06:57

That's a great article! Sums it all up nicely.

SirSamuelVimes · 27/11/2021 09:01

Very good article. Good on the Mail for not dropping this.

2319inprogress · 27/11/2021 10:23

Yes, indeed.
PaleGreenGhost · 27/11/2021 20:51

Glad they highlighted the actor's hypocrisy and their privilege.

Confused about how, in gender ideology, a drag queen can also be a transwoman.

nauticant · 27/11/2021 21:02

It falls within this:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_queen_(drag)

2319inprogress · 27/11/2021 23:09
It falls within this:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_queen_(drag)
"terms "bio queen" and "female queen" are considered by many performers to be transphobic as they imply that a transgender (MTF) woman who performs as a drag queen is not female"
Hmm

Added something new to my "everything's transphobic" list!

Women drag queens what is the point Confused

Helleofabore · 28/11/2021 08:05

Just checking in.

Did MPie comes back to tell us

Please name any public figure in a private residence (not supplied by the public) that this would be acceptable to do this to?

No? I guess they are talking rubbish again. They never put any critical thought into what they seem to believe are clever gotchas.

In this case they are endorsing targeted harassment of a woman and her family. All because Pie believes in the impossible and the woman writes about the impossible being possible in a fictional world of make-believe , but as a work of fiction, knowing that the truth matters. And it infuriates some people to know that people can tell the difference between reality and fiction and refuse to play a long.

There are some people who particularly hate women who say no!

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/11/2021 12:44

@Helleofabore I reported that poster's persistent goadiness. MNHQ agreed with me and indicated that they'd been shown the door.

ScreamingMeMe · 03/12/2021 13:58

The doxxing of JK Rowling harms everyone
Taking the fight to someone’s home is a transgression of the social contract - whatever you think of their views.

MNers should campaign against male mediocrity in the media This has legs Grin I think there are lots of campaigns we could mount and the range of placards could run for months.
