The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

I'm not victim blaming in any way, I was just thinking how I might have handled this if it was my family at risk She did also say she was continuing to tweet because there are women facing the same behaviours who do not have the protection her family does.

Think that through....

She lives in Scotland and has 'additional protection' for herself and her family.

She know wpmen facing the sam barrage who don't have those additonal protections.

Keep saying it out loud. It's fucking scary and should not be passed off as allowable, acceptable or down to he own actions.

Three men (OK, 2 men one woman) and A N Other, behind the camera, saw fit to take time out of their apparently 'busy being famous' schedules to find her address, make signs, get dressed up and head out their to make their point, take a pretty picture and post it on their SM so all ther friends and followers could see what a stand they were taking.

And then had the fucking nerve to claim she was victimising them by naming them with links to their Twitter feed - and their own picture of their brave deed.

I can't think of any other way to say that anyone who for a millisecond thinks JK Rowling has acted in any way reprehensibly is in need of a major head wobble. For they are incredibly hard of thinking!

Pie

This post shows the inanity in your thinking. I think we are waiting for some answers to other questions from up thread though.

Please name any public figure in a private residence (not supplied by the public) that this would be acceptable to do this to?

And in fact, which public figure in a residence, that is not considered an office as well, supplied by the state would this be allowed by police as well.

I will keep waiting for a list.

MonsignorMirth · 23/11/2021 16:04

Yes Robert is her alias. Seems a little strange she would choose a man's name given her views on changing sex.

Occam's razor would therefore conclude
that you don't understand "her views on changing sex".

Journeyofthedragons · 23/11/2021 16:05

I agree with what you're saying @HoardingSamphireSaurus, I don't understand why she asked for people who reposted the picture showing her address to remove it when it was inevitable that her tweet would give her address more exposure.

nauticant · 23/11/2021 16:05

You don't do context do you MargaritaPie?

When this kicked off, the most interesting thing was that by JKR responding in this way, it would mean that anyone seeking to justify what they trans activists had done would look very unpleasant. So it's come to pass. This is absolutely terrible PR for trans activism.

Waitwhat23 · 23/11/2021 16:20

Margarita, glaikit doesn't even begin to cover you. The words pseudonym, nome de plume or pen name seem to be concepts which you simply don't understand. Writing under a male pseudonym doesn't mean that she believes (or doesn't believe) that she or anyone else can change sex. The Bronte sisters wrote under male pseudonyms, as have many other female authors, for many and varied reasons (mostly sexism). JKR herself used JK Rowling rather than Joanne Rowling because her publishers were convinced that young boys wouldn't read a book written by a woman.

Your continued use of the name Robert to refer to JKR is both rude and disrespectful and comes across as very, very childish.

Because she could, she wanted to, any accounts where they remained could be targetted, owners shot at dawn?

But mainly because she wanted to, I suppose.

TheElvishQueen · 23/11/2021 16:37

@Helleofabore

We're talking about a near-billionaire who lives in a castle with 41M followers against 3 people from a vulnerable minority group.

We keep coming back to this don't we.

How about: We're talking about a woman who lives in a home with her family and three PR hungry people eager to promote themselves through their denigration of her. Their show of 'we know where you live' intimidation of her. Their 'we are now victims of mass abuse that is really just people telling us we were in the wrong' lies.

The fact that they are in the show biz industry themselves, and would. be very well aware that you should never dox someone in this way seems to never have occurred to them. The fact that they have betrayed the trust of anyone who now works with them that may not agree with them and therefore they may never work with that person again. Because you just don't even think about doing what they did if you are relying on others to hire you in that industry.

And strangely, it is actually not to do with their opinions. It has everything though to do with the act of opening up another person in the industry (or any other industry either) to harm through your shameless promotion of yourselves.

The fact that posters cannot see this gross negligence in these 3 people's actions is just another display of the lack of critical thinking they themselves display.

She doesn't live in a castle. What makes you think she does?
AssassinatedBeauty · 23/11/2021 16:40

@Journeyofthedragons I find your insinuations that JKR wasn't acting with the safety of her family in mind to be abhorrent. By your ideas, women should never respond to any kind of harassment online, if they do so then they aren't thinking of their family's safety and are voluntarily accepting an increase of the abuse aimed at them. Is that about right??

Or she simply chose a man's name so she wouldn't get harassed and would get taken more seriously without all the bullshit...
Helleofabore · 23/11/2021 16:43

TheElvishQueen

ooh! I know..... because Pie said so!!

In the usual sneery, jeery way of deflection, distraction and avoiding answering any questions.

TinselAngel · 23/11/2021 16:49

Well thank goodness for 2 drag acts and a Casualty extra being there to save her from being forgotten about altogether.

Particularly since the demise of The Bill, all actors have been in Casualty. It'll probably be my turn to be in Casualty eventually and I'm not even an actor.

bordermidgebite · 23/11/2021 16:49

Given her views on sex ( as opposed to her understanding that sex isn't changeable ) however , choosing a traditional male name makes perfect sense

TinselAngel · 23/11/2021 16:50

She doesn't live in a castle. What makes you think she does?

Do people think she lives in Hogwarts?

334bu · 23/11/2021 16:51

As Margarita thinks women raped by males who identify as women should shut up, I think we should treat anything they say with the " respect" it deserves.Hmm

Cool - the more light shed on TRA thinking the better.

That's not what I'm saying, it's possible to both applaud JKR for standing up for women And feel that the way she has done it regarding this specific tweet has brought attention to something that she requested be kept private (her address) - the Streisand Effect.

Deliriumoftheendless · 23/11/2021 16:58

Using a pseudonym is a bit like using a different name on an Internet forum.

I should explain I have not actually turned into one of the most powerful beings in the universe who used to be Delight.

And I doubt MP is actually a pastry based baked dessert. Although it would explain a lot.

Deliriumoftheendless · 23/11/2021 17:00

Do people think she lives in Hogwarts?

Is it not her biography? 🙀 but...but... if she wrote it she MUST clearly believe it’s real!

That’s how fiction works, right?

The US importing its carp and trying to stifle OUR debates
highame · 23/11/2021 17:03

Crap 🤣🤣 not carp....since when did the US want to import fish to interfere with our debates

334bu · 23/11/2021 17:10

Lots of red herrings here?😂

Igneococcus · 23/11/2021 17:10

Is it like jury service? I had no idea.
