The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

@Callcat

I hope JKR does lurk and sees how much love and respect us women on this board have for her. She really is magnificent!!!
Agreed!

Thank you JKR for standing up for women. Hope you and your family are safe and well.

MiladyBerserko · 23/11/2021 21:26

Oh come on, River City? It used to be the case that everyone in the RSAMD had been in Taggart. Def the MA course, ha ha ha.

FlyingSquid · 23/11/2021 21:33

DD's left elbow and part of her rucksack have been in Eastenders. Or maybe that was Casualty? She was vague about it, but they got cake.

2319inprogress · 23/11/2021 21:35

Oh Waitwhat23 thank you for those videos! Instant time jump Grin

Personally I find the idea that JKR hasn't got security advisers who have discussed her decision to tweet absolutely bonkers. (Even if she didn't have these people you can be sure that her publishers do.)

I would imagine they quietly deal with the harmless but obsessive type quite a lot, clearly there are different responses for ... different types of boundary breakers.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/11/2021 21:48

the fact that JKR is a survivor of domestic violence is never mentioned

Or if it is, it's attached to a complaint that she has "weaponised her abuse" to gain sympathy, and it was years ago, and now she's rich, so she should just shut up about it!

Enough4me · 23/11/2021 22:11

On Twitter, the TRAs have turned against the wizard brats, Radcliffe, Watson & Grint, for going back to the franchise for work.

It's funny the little brats go against JKR when it suits them to suck up to the ideology of the moment, but when money is offered they go back again, no apology to JKR though.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 23/11/2021 22:16

On Twitter, the TRAs have turned against the wizard brats, Radcliffe, Watson & Grint, for going back to the franchise for work.

Their business advisers must have told them this would happen and they've probably priced it in. I'd like to think they'll regret their behaviour to JKR at some point but I'm sure they think that they made the best decision and they'll win people round. I'm going for parenthood as a rehabilitation strategy.

Lovelyricepudding · 23/11/2021 22:25

'Brats' suggest they are spoilt children who don't know better. They are fully grown adults. The are making calculated decisions.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 23/11/2021 22:30

Good contribution from Rose of Dawn: Don't Target JK Rowling's House! (Or Anyone Else's!)

LittleEsme · 23/11/2021 22:38

JK you are incredible.
A real inspiration and a role model to all women and girls.

Another article in the Scotland section of the Times:

Thanks for the link

Igneococcus · 24/11/2021 09:18

I can't get a comment through under this article. I get deleted no matter how carefully I phrase it.

Xenia · 24/11/2021 09:44

Interesting. I used to p ay for the Times and could comment. I would imagine no one can post a comment unless a paid subscriber. That is what the Telegraph now do too although beforehand if you did not pay you could add comments. The only one for which I now pay is the FT and it never allows comments from paid subscribers on any controversial article topics like women, trans, immigration, Palestine etc.

Floisme · 24/11/2021 09:49

Thanks for the share token. I see the article quotes the messages on 2 of the placards but not 'Don't be a cissy'.

Bertiebiscuit · 24/11/2021 09:52

These clowns - who should be under lock and key right now - are making the nonsense movement they support just look bad, they aren't very bright are they. Pick on the most famous, most talented and most humane writer of our era because she has the almighty gall to have an opinion that isn't quite the same as you and your 3rd rate know nothing little band of children - not a good look. Maybe try using your time actually reading a book, writing a book, helping children to love reading, giving chunks of your earnings to good causes, in fact start being the kind of role model j k is for everyone.

Igneococcus · 24/11/2021 09:58

I'm a paid subscriber for quite a few years now. I have commented a lot under many articles but for a few days now I can't get anything through moderation under articles about JKR or yesterday's Tavistock article. They go into pending and then disappear without a trace. I still can things through under articles with no pre-moderation, but moderated articles just get me delete me straight away at the moment.

SolasAnla · 24/11/2021 10:09

You won't

Extract with (my notes)
They ["Those responsible for the protest" (not stalk a private individual at her family home)] posted a photograph on Twitter standing outside Rowling’s Edinburgh home carrying placards with the messages “trans liberation now” (person 1) and “trans rights are human rights” (person 2), (person 3??? WTF did Marc just eliminated a TRA) with the address visible on the wall behind them. All three (phew!! found the 3rd TRA again) of their accounts have been deleted.

M Horne or Unnamed Editor are moral cowards as they did not want the reader to read about the cissy sign.
This word would be translated into a gay slur or a effeminate man slur by most readers.
Or Google could give the reader an education which is NSFW.

Look at the subtle subtext:

two drag artists with the stage names RE (no age) and HS (no age) and an actress, GF (no age).... are based in England *(

It uses OpenWeb, which is notoriously censor-trigger-happy. Your profile has probably been blacklisted from any articles containing certain tags. If you see the OW logo and write anything on trans issues that’s not grovelling, the chances are every single comment will be removed after a few hours and the comment feature turned off.

support.openweb.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006672653-Why-won-t-my-replies-show-

Due to our automated moderation filters, some comments may require approval before going live on the site. This could happen if the comment contains sensitive words

Attempting to post the comment again, will not get it approved faster and will only have the system flag your account

SolasAnla · 24/11/2021 10:24

Thats interesting SoniaFouler
The newspaper is tracking people's political opinions which are listed under GDPR Article 9 as sensitive and can only be collected by "exception".
The individual communicates this to the newspaper but if the newspaper stops publication (which would give it an exemption) what other exemption would this fall under.

SpindlesWhorl · 24/11/2021 10:39

@SolasAnla yes, my first thought on reading that Times article, from the headline to the missing sign, was 'This is completely unbalanced'. You're right to use the word 'propaganda' tbh.

There's no photo of the three artistes, either.

The Times Scotland are working very hard to stop the content of that third sign getting out. Which tells us one thing - that sign was a massive, massive own goal by those activists. Very much like the sexualised drawings and signs produced by some of the activists at FiLia.

How on earth have we got to a point where mainstream newspapers are helping to cover up the pornification of anti-women activism?

nauticant · 24/11/2021 11:02

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've given up trying to comment below Times articles because much of the time the comments have no chance of getting through.

This is OpenWeb:

We actively incentivize and nudge users to be positive contributors. The more civil they are, the larger their reach and influence — creating a virtuous cycle of positive engagement.

www.openweb.com/moderation-and-safety/

Ironically for a company with that name, it is very difficult to find that link through searching, it appears to have been hidden in some way.

SpindlesWhorl · 24/11/2021 11:17

I wonder if positive comments like 'What an amazing woman JK Rowling is!' would get through? Just that simple, positive comment on its own. Because if it doesn't, then that would be very very interesting.

(I'm not a subscriber so can't test it out.)

SolasAnla · 24/11/2021 11:44

@nauticant if you are posting under a fixed name and/or pay for a sub ignore the third party agent. Submit a data request to the paper directly.
It created the web page who it employs to carry out a function is irrelevant.

@SpindlesWhorl because much of the same ideology which says males should have a right to demand access to single sex spaces tend to push the message that sex slave work is work.

It was interesting to see how people missed the obvious connection of a female who preform sex acts on someone as part of a financial transaction may hold the transaction ideology in all of her personal connections.
I am not on Twitter so have to hop from account to account. Raging at JKR or women who say no and uploading imagery of adults engaged in sex acts have a correlation.
