If this is true, the person who made the decision to suspend the Labour member should themself be suspended for transphobia.

Every trans person knows that transition does not mean actually changing sex. Every decent, honest transwoman knows that it's not possible for a male-bodied person to experience or to speak from experience about menopause.

People who insist that men and AMAB trans or nonbinary people should be allowed to speak about their personal experience of menopause are blatant (and for the most part hateful) AWAs, not TRAs. And they are transphobes, setting trans people up to look like they are categorically delusional and anti-woman/misogynist. These people do not have the firsthand experience, and every single one (minus perhaps small children) knows it.

If UK Labour have (had) any connexion to its history of defending marginalised and expolited groups, it will (would) speak up for women now.

Given that Starmer couldn't bring himself to agree that only women have a cervix on the tv recently, is it so surprising? Even the leader is not able to admit biological reality. What a cult....the Conservatives deserve to be in power for ever....

As the persons GC beliefs are protected in Law, they would have a good case for taking legal action.

Keir Starmer has been an utter, utter disappointment on this (not the only area where he’s a disappointment tbh); and despite never having in my life voted for any other party for 25 years I can’t bring myself to vote for them again. Specifically over this issue. Never thought I’d see the day, but hey, it not the only bit of the world that’s gone mad.

Sometimes very early menopause if hysterectomy and oophorectomy is carried out because of atrophy.

A concession can be made that non-binary folk and transmen can also experience menopause but I'd bet money that's not the audience Gil House has offended with their "only women" comment.

Another reason to keep a decent distance from Labour as a voter for the foreseeable.

Eventually transmen will experience menopause even if they don't opt for medical intervention with their transition...because at some point the mechanics of their biology will halt like any women's will at the time their body deems right.

"Trans men" are women (= adult human females) so it doesn't really matter, does it?

... but yeah, they would go through some weird changes if/when their female hormones get switched off. Taking male hormones on top would alleviate some symptoms, but not all. You can't change sex, but you can mess up your body by trying to do so.

When it comes to biology/medicine, made up social categories and gender feelings aren't particularly relevant. The only definition of man/woman that makes sense in that context is the male/female sex binary.

At work last month there was a message on the front page of our intranet about Menopause Day - without any mention whatsoever of the words 'woman' or 'female'.

Apparently 51% of the population are affected by it, but who exactly is a complete mystery!

I joke but I was genuinely upset to see an example of this in real life for the first time. How dare my employer treat 'woman' and 'female' as dirty words.

Labour is finished. Absolutely finished. We have one of the worst governments in history and even at the end of a horrendous fortnight for the Tories Labour is only edging ahead in the polls.
