Not sure if it's anywhere else, but according Guido Fawkes, a Labour member has been suspended for saying on Facebook that only women go through the menopause.

@DdraigGoch do you have the full article by any chance?

merrymouse · 19/11/2021 17:26

I disagree with this part of that Telegraph article.

Trans ideology sits neatly in a smorgasbord of Marxist “solutions” or “demands” that seek not only to disrupt and destroy capitalism, but every other structure that has underpinned society for centuries. Just because.

Marxism requires material class analysis. OJ et al have no interest in that. They just want to protect their tribal affiliations and affirm status.

Trans ideology is based in the American ideal that individuals should be able to do what they want to do without regulation, whether that is own guns or tigers.

foxgoosefinch · 19/11/2021 17:32

Absolutely @merrymouse - trans ideology is completely antithetical to Marxism. It’s a version of market capitalist neoliberalism - eg. if there’s a market for it there’s no moral judgment; in fact self-transformation is an individualist moral imperative.

Trans ideology is more connected to the growth of the plastic surgery industry than it is to any form of traditional left wing or Marxist thought.

fournonblondes · 19/11/2021 18:04

Gosh things are bad when someone stating facts get suspended. Labour is such a joke.

DdraigGoch · 19/11/2021 19:25

@foxgoosefinch the Telegraph doesn't do share tokens, I'm afraid.

OperationDessertStorm · 19/11/2021 19:58

Please thank him from me also (another ex Labour voter)

Manderleyagain · 19/11/2021 21:22

Mrs House, thanks for posting here. Well done to both of you. It must have been horrible when the email came.

I really hope this gets some press coverage. People need to know about this and understand what's going on. A journalist would be able to ask questions of the labour party, and it would be lovely if the eejits who reported him found that the story ran and ran.

TheMenopausalMrsHouse · 19/11/2021 21:29

In a shock turn of events, Hmm Gil received a letter this evening explaining that the initial letter was "an administrative error", he is not suspended and no further action will be taken. And soz for any distress or confusion caused, but hey, all good, yeah?

I see you, Labour, and you disgust me. And there's a lot of people who see you for what you are, and the bad news is that we are not as stupid or as naive as you obviously think we are. You lost my vote a long time ago and I am no where near being persuaded to give you another chance.

He has had a lot of support from some local activists, and I think it would be fair to say that they are the one reason he would reconsider his resignation. Labour don't deserve it.

Camdenish · 19/11/2021 21:35

Wow @TheMenopausalMrsHouse just wow.

It’s impossible to leave the Labour Party anyway. Believe me I’ve tried!

Thank your husband from me too.

Grumpyosaurus · 19/11/2021 21:36

@TheMenopausalMrsHouse, [flower] to you and your husband. What a horrible stressful situation in, just for stating biological facts.

Gil received a letter this evening explaining that the initial letter was "an administrative error"
As our Scottish posters are fond of saying, Aye right.

TheMenopausalMrsHouse · 19/11/2021 21:38

He gave up alcohol this month, I am angry drinking for him. Wine

GreyhoundG1rl · 19/11/2021 21:38

@FlyingOink

Looks real to me. Is anyone in Labour denying it yet?
Engaged in behaviour grossly detrimental to the party?! What sort of parallel universe do these clowns inhabit?
Redshoeblueshoe · 19/11/2021 21:46

OMG thanks for posting MrsHouse - for you WineWineWine

Voice0fReason · 19/11/2021 21:53

Labour have shown complete contempt for women. Dismissing our concerns, ignoring our voices, calling us bigots.
Kier has been such a disappointment and he was the best option of all of them last time around.
I cannot bring myself to vote for them.

Appledrop · 19/11/2021 22:46

We certainly won't be voting for them either, not that we have anyway. Has anyone noticed this person on twitter? Fell into it from another link from this page. I am so digusted!!

I’ll bet you a pound to a penny that if Gil had been a female party member he would not have received that.

Can he write back just saying 'Chinny reckon.'?
Unreasonabubble · 19/11/2021 23:03

@poshmeWow! - You could not make that up if you tried. Grin Grin

And @TheMenopausalMrsHouse please tell your husband we love him Flowers

TheMenopausalMrsHouse · 19/11/2021 23:05

@noraclavicle if he hadn't have gone public, he wouldn't have had this response either. But yes, I totally agree that a woman would not have had the pleasure of such a volte-face.

Rightsraptor · 19/11/2021 23:10

How to they think they'll get away with this? Admin error my arse. The labour party do not deserve your husband.

noraclavicle · 19/11/2021 23:12

@TheMenopausalMrsHouse my thanks and best wishes to both of you. I got the total brush-off (copy & paste response) when I tried to raise the issue with my MP. Not a peep when I cancelled my membership. DH got a phone call when he resigned, at which point he gave them both both barrels. Apparently a lot of local members had raised the issue. This was before Starmer declared we were all beyond the pale for stating biological facts.

Enough4me · 19/11/2021 23:13

Labour are so captured I cannot imagine them ever grasping reality. We need a new stronger opposition party as Labour are so bad at representing the majority perspective. They are no competition and Conservatives will stay ahead not by working harder, but just by not being as rubbish as Labour.
