This will be very interesting. Lorraine seems to have carved out a role as a sort of 'LGBTQ+' queen, or been adopted as such, so you'd expect her to be in snarly yorkshire terrier mode with Prof Stock. But with the BBC ferret reversing at an alarming rate, perhaps she's been ordered to lead the retreat at ITV too?

It's hardly a good look to invite a woman onto your TV show who has been bullied out of her profession for her legally protected views on women's rights, and add to the pile on. Let's see how this goes.

Lorraine taking full advantage of the opportunity to signal her virtue. Feigning surprise that people can't discuss this while also making sure everyone knows she is nice and prof stock is an evil bigot witch.

She didn’t like it when Dr stock said that she had actual trans people write to her to tell her they agreed.

Ugggh! Agree Winter Trees, she brought her windmill out to wave her virtue on didn’t she. “Don’t come for me, I’m on your side, they’ve made me have this bitch on”. That’s obviously not what she said but that’s what I saw.

I wonder what was said before the interview started? Doc Stock looked very uncomfortable the whole way through. And very tired.

And Lorraine was clearly uncomfortable, I don’t remember her talking quite that fast for entire segments.

Kathleen was excellent as ever. So clear, calm and considered. Fair play to Lorraine for having her on and not being hostile or antagonistic towards her, despite her own views.

Dr Stock did really well. So is so reasonable and straightforward.

At least it means the subject is getting to audiences who might not have previously have heard about it.

Yep. Spot on. Lorraine managed to spend the entire 5 minutes simultaneously spouting inane 'truisms' whilst signalling her relative purity. Totally skirted meaningful discussion or even recognition of the contentious issues. My ankle low expectations of this segment have been fully met.

Positive Kathleen's on a show like Lorraine and it was as respectful as you could hope for imo. The stuff about her not really being cancelled was rubbish though...I'm sure Lorraine will understand it more when the inevitably annoying loud people pipe up about having Kathleen on at all.

To be fair to Lorraine, and I've never been a fan, she must have been terrified of putting a foot wrong.

I thought this went really well. It would have been difficult for KS to respond to the suicide stat in the format, and would have come across badly.

Lorraine is v TWAW and has every right to be, but she is obviously also an old liberal who thinks these things all need talking about, and her question about how we get to having this discussion is a good question.

Lorraine talked alot for an interviewer.

I expect most of the audience will think about the issue in more practical terms - sport, changing rooms- than whether a tw actually is a w or not. I think lots of ppl just learnt that something odd is going on, and talking about it loses ppl their jobs.

I wonder how much power over choice of guests Lorraine has? Would this have been her choice?

Should have got the title if her book in!
