Gay man 'bullied' off Manchester Pride for wearing LGB Alliance hat and t-shirt

LibDem activist delighted by this. Here are two of her tweets. The gay man who turned up in an LGB hat and t-shirt was allegedly advised by police to leave for his own safety and seems to have had the hat stolen.

Another young fool tweeted that 'bullying the guy in the LGB Alliance shirt who came to the protest march is my favourit part of Pride so far xx'. He has since deleted this (possibly because he is now sober and/or has seen how many people had reported this to his employers) and now claims he was just chanting 'Trans lives matter!'. 'Bullying' is an odd choice of words for this. How could anyone think admitting publicly to 'bullying' was a good look?

The LGB Alliance man has been advised that people shouting at him is actually assault if he wants to take it further. Doesn't sound like he does, though.

Unedifying, to say the least.

in what way are LGB Alliance a hate group??

I'm genuinely baffled. Is protecting the rights of same sex attracted people now hateful?

MarshmallowSwede · 29/08/2021 12:44

What is a queer heterosexual?

It sounds like made up nonsense from someone who wants to be “cool” and use this very trendy label that’s popular these days.

Being heterosexual is boring, so all cool ppl are all of sudden queer. Give it a rest. You’re boring and a nuisance at best. Saying you’re queer doesn’t change that.

Abhannmor · 29/08/2021 12:47

So @BlueberryCheezecake ..Pride is just about trans rights. Thanks for clearing that up. And it was a queer straight woman who set the mob on him. How many of them were actually gay I wonder.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/08/2021 12:51

You can only get away with calling LGBA a hate group when talking with those who think same sex attraction is itself hateful.

Anywhere else and you just sound deluded, sad.

HDDD · 29/08/2021 13:09

I sincerely hope some clueless people watch this godawful video and it opens their eyes

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/08/2021 13:11

Sums up why I left the LibDems. I was an activist, Councillor etc.
They really do hate women.

Jorriss · 29/08/2021 13:11

but that he turned up wearing apparel from a hate group to an event supposed to celebrate the very people that hate group targets

Why is it a hate group? Can you provide some examples of this?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 29/08/2021 13:16

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you that The Guardian haven’t mentioned this in their article
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/aug/29/spate-of-attacks-across-uk-sparks-fear-among-lgbtq-community

How often did we say on here that forcing the T&Q in with LGB would result in a backlash that would Affect LGB ppl in particular & undo so much that had been achieved. It’s so fucking frustrating to see it happening. For fucks fucking sake!!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 29/08/2021 13:16

It's very similar to McCarthyism in 1950s America, isn't it? In that case it was fear of communism, but the actions were the same, people being bullied, investigated for 'wrong thinking' on little evidence, losing their jobs and being blacklisted.

Pride is about celebrating the TQ.

LGB people are there to provide credibility to a group of glittery narcissists, so when someone does something to remind the narcs that they are just oppression tourists and hobbyists and that a significant amount of LGB people won't play along, they respond with fury.

I am proud to be going to the LGB Alliance conference in October. I am a lesbian, and it's taken me years to be able to say that without a ripple of shame in my belly.

If you think you can make me shut up about now, you can fuck off all the way back to the 1950's where you and all the other arseholes wedded to gender stereotypes belong.

Helleofabore · 29/08/2021 13:27

I think the new ‘hate group’ descriptor will become as overused and has lost the power it once had through its hyperbolic application. It has simply become another way to virtue signal and distracts from the real hate groups.

But please do continue, Blueberry. Each time you post on a thread it gives a real time demonstration of the silencing tactics of activists who seem to hate women talking and, now, gay men wearing apparel from their support group.

A support group by the way that doesn’t not exclude trans people from their remit, merely doesn’t centre trans rights. But, apparently a hate group according to some rather narrow minded people who have somehow got the impression they are wonderfully liberal.

Symptoms of echo chamber overexposure right there…

Jorriss · 29/08/2021 13:35

So much of the hatred is from (some of) the T to the LGB. And stonewall claiming that intolerance and violence has risen towards the LGBTQ + community. Whilst forgetting to mention that much of this hatred is driven from inside by the T. Stonewall are not innocent here. They have helped create this hostile environment for the LGB.

LGB Alliance supporters aren't welcome in a gay pride? Gosh I wonder why.

I'll tell you why. Because it's not gay pride anymore. It's T and Q pride. Deeply homophobic. And you seem to support that. Why do you support homophobia?

TheWeeDonkey · 29/08/2021 13:44

I used to work with a lad who would complain "Why are there no parades for straight people?😢" He'd be so happy to see this.

Pride is now not just for straight people but for homophobic straight people too! 🌈

Excellent post, Floral.
Artichokeleaves · 29/08/2021 13:48

Agree with every word Floral

It's an insult on multiple levels to LGB people.

AlfonsoTheMango · 29/08/2021 13:48

That poor man.

LGB Alliance supporters aren't welcome in a gay pride? Gosh I wonder why

A gay man has been removed from Pride for his own safety for supporting a registered charity that advocates for same-sex attracted people.

Same-sex attracted people-that is gay men, lesbians and bisexuals. Remember them? Pride is for them too, you know, not just the TQ+ and men that like dressing up as baby girls or dogs.

Pretty sad that these extremists don't see how sinister they are. Ganging up on and bullying a man for having a different opinion to them, then acting surprised when their bigotry and hatred results in the man being assaulted/robbed. Hiding behind a pretty flag and chanting a mantra doesn't justify homophobia.

''Pride''. This is nothing to be proud of, this fucking shameful.

PlanDeRaccordement · 29/08/2021 13:54

@FloralBunting
Pride is about celebrating the TQ

It wasn’t originally...Pride started as Gay Pride.

“Now known as the first Pride parades, the gay liberation marches that took place in New York and other U.S. cities in 1970 were raucous celebrations of identity—and a provocative peek at the decades of activism to follow.”

“On June 28, thousands of people converged in Greenwich Village and began to march. According to the New York Times, the line of participants extended 15 blocks from head to foot. (Although organizers told the paper there were 3,000, 8,000, or as many as 20,000 people there, a police officer estimated “at least 1,000.”) Shirtless men walked hand in hand and kissed publicly. Picketers held signs that declared their sexual orientation. And demonstrators shouted slogans like “Gay power,” “Gay is okay,” and “Gay, gay, all the way!” Press coverage of the parade focused mainly on the marchers, but pointed to bystanders who “eagerly clicked their cameras...tittered...many were obviously startled by the scene.”

“As we kept going, the crowd grew and grew,” activist Jerry Hoose told TimeOut New York’s Raven Snook in a 2019 interview. “No one who was there can talk about it without goose bumps. I always say that gay liberation was conceived at Stonewall in 1969 and born at that first march.” The marchers paraded from Greenwich Village to Central Park, where they held a gay-in gathering with speeches and socializing.”

@MargaritaPie

Video here: twitter.com/SpillerOfTea/status/1431902625260347394

The description given by the uploader is:

*"Transphobic bigot in an LGB Alliance t-shirt being yeeted the fuck out of Pride as chants of ‘trans lives matter’ ring in his shitty fucking ears.

A very big YES to all of this."*

LGB Alliance supporters aren't welcome in a gay pride? Gosh I wonder why.

Wonder no more. The truth is obvious.

Pride is no longer accepting of homosexuality.

As 'they' chanted - trans lives matter. Not gay ones!

Helleofabore · 29/08/2021 13:55

That video need to be posted on each page.

I do not think it quite shows what some posters think it does. But hey ho… some posters seem proud of it. Proud to support a group who cannot allow a person with a different opinion to attend an event meant, supposedly, for them.

RedDogsBeg · 29/08/2021 13:56

So come on then tell us why @MargaritaPie.

So let me see if I have this right…

The organisation set up to advocate for the rights of same-sex attracted people switched focus to advocating for the rights of people who identify as other than their birth sex - which is not a sexual orientation - and centred same-gender attraction in place of same-sex attraction.

Many supporters of this organisation began to claim that same-sex attraction is transphobic and that same-sex attracted people should get over their “genital preference” and open themselves up to the idea of dating people they are not attracted to.

A proportion of same-sex attracted people realised the original organisation no longer represented their views and set up a new organisation that retains the focus on same-sex attraction. Transpeople who are same-sex attracted are welcome to join this organisation.

Supporters of the original organisation tried to get the new organisation delisted as a charity, tried to remove crowdfunders raising money for the organisation - money that would be used to support same-sex attracted people - tried to get the new organisation banned from Twitter and have now bullied a same-sex attracted man away from the parade set up to celebrate same-sex attracted people.

And it’s LGB Alliance that are the hate group???
