Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

How is it "gender critical" to impose rigid binary social categories based on sex?

For most of history, the whole point of feminism was to oppse sex-based segregation and restrictions that were imposed by patriarchal society.

So I don't see how supporting strict gender categories, and simply calling them "sex-based" instead, in any way leans itself to "gender abolition".

One might get impression that "gender" is simply being used to mean trans people existing, and "gender abolition" simply means restricting trans people from being able to transition and use different gender labels. And basically nothing else.

With "sex-based rules and restrictions" being basically just gender roles but trans-proofed.

And frankly, in Britain in particular, cis women aren't suffering much of this oppression.

Why on earth do you keep referring to ‘Cis’ women? Women depend on sex based rights regardless of whether they identify with sexist stereotypes.

I agree that women in the U.K. are better off than those living in the US, but no women anywhere can ever take contraception or the mechanism through which it is supplied for granted.

Please, describe to me what a woman ‘gender identity’ looks like. (or a man one for that matter)

You know what a woman looks like, every time you see a woman on the street, you recognize her as a woman.

Even though you have no way of determining her genes, or gametes, or chromosomes, or any other "immutable", "objective", "sex-based" criteria just by looking at her.

That's because you know there's a certain set of physical characteristics you can expect that help you identify whether someone is woman, like external physical appearance.

And here's a kicker, trans women can have those characteristics too. You can't "always tell".

Bullying women by sex because you are inadequate

If you were considered a certain gender/sex since birth ("man"/"boy", "woman"/"girl"), and still call yourself that now, you are cis.

Please check your definitions. ‘Cis’ only refers to gender. It would help if you had a better grasp of the basics.

It’s very odd that you insist on applying a gender to people who don’t believe they have a gender. It undermines everything that you claim to believe.

Looks like yet more labelling and imposing of labels here Panda

Imposing labels of man or woman? I thought you said that was a Bad Thing?

Is it only OK if you get to do it?

If men get to do it?

God forbid some "cis women in the UK" get to impose any labels. No, their business is to accept the labels you give them. They better not be imposing any back.

That’s odd as no one on here responding to your nonsense is being at all transphobic. We hold opinions that are respected in civilised society.
