Everything crossed here too, this is a really important case. Any judge with compassion will see this is unjust and illegal, although these days we any really know, can we? If this goes the wrong way can there be an appeal?

Got everything crossed too. Really on edge about this one.

Women were raped and sexually assaulted in prison because they were locked up with male sex offenders. An entirely predictable outcome.

It is a sign of how utterly batshit these times are that this could ever have been considered as a sensible policy. Here's hoping that this judgement will put an end to this, that no more women have to go through such a horrific and preventable ordeal.

I'm not feeling hopeful unfortunately. Of all the women who society doesn't care about, it cares about female prisoners the least. However at the very least it'll put the issue back into the news and the majority of people will almost certainly agree that housing male prisoners in female prisons is utterly inhumane and batshit. And if we need to appeal my hand will be going deep into my pocket.

It makes me so angry that it is always the most vulnerable women who pay the price for other people's badly thought-through idiotic policies.
