@ScaredOfDinosaurs

Women were raped and sexually assaulted in prison because they were locked up with male sex offenders. An entirely predictable outcome.

It is a sign of how utterly batshit these times are that this could ever have been considered as a sensible policy. Here's hoping that this judgement will put an end to this, that no more women have to go through such a horrific and preventable ordeal.

Absolutely
lionheart · 02/07/2021 10:43

Fingers crossed.

Yes. It’s disgraceful.

Apprehensive waiting!

Scarify · 02/07/2021 10:45

Whatever the outcome, so l glad this case has been brought, I'm trying to keep optimistic, but all is not lost if it doesn't go the right way.

crumpet · 02/07/2021 10:45

Another session of constant screen refreshing! Fingers crossed…

DialSquare · 02/07/2021 10:45

Feeling so nervous about this.

How can any reasonable person not foresee this?!!

Rushhomeroad · 02/07/2021 10:50

Don't they know I have a meeting at 11? Madly refreshing....

Manderleyagain · 02/07/2021 10:51

Indeed. If we lose, it will still bring sunlight.

The idea that women convicted of poverty crimes can be locked up with rapists is worthy of a few headlines, I think.

RedDogsBeg · 02/07/2021 10:57

The waiting is tortuous.

If this goes against the female who brought the case it will be the worst travesty of justice for a very long time, it will effectively be approving state sanctioned rape and sexual assault of female inmates. The document that was used to justify moving TW into the female prison estate never once mentioned the impact on female prisoners it was all about the TW and their feelings, disgraceful.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 02/07/2021 10:58

Fingers crossed. This is such an important case.

As PP said, how did they not think this would happen? Locking male bodied sex offenders up with women and just hoping for the best??

PearPickingPorky · 02/07/2021 11:02

Looks like a loss?

Scarify · 02/07/2021 11:02

Not good

Avocadowoman · 02/07/2021 11:02

Have only skimmed. Looks like 'very sympathetic but sorry, this is legal'

Tibtom · 02/07/2021 11:03

"I shall use the word "transgender" to refer to a person who identifies as the opposite gender from that assigned at birth"

Angry
alkanet · 02/07/2021 11:04

Oh fuck, they lost.

What’s the next step?

DifficultBloodyWoman · 02/07/2021 11:06

Well, shit. I’m surprised. And I hope there are grounds to appeal.

DialSquare · 02/07/2021 11:06

This need to be picked up by every newspaper in the land.
