Non-binary as a pointless option

There’s an event I’m going to for a hobby activity primarily attended by men. It’s a ‘clothing optional’ event.

The booking has closed now, to everyone other than females and ‘non-binary people’.
I imagine, in the hope more women will attend.

This is completely pointless, as of course non-binary means nothing and cannot be challenged.

I’m booking myself on as well as my (male!) penis having partner. However, if asked, we will say he is non-binary (as is the dog) and nothing can be said for fear of bigotry. I find this ‘non-binary’ option even more ridiculous, as all genitalia will on display!

May I ask what the hobby is? I have such a dull prosaic mind I worry about nudists getting cold in this country.

And yes "non-binary" is meaningless.

I'd say that most nudists are probably non binary if you think of it in terms that they are rejecting the gender stereotype of clothing!

I was imagining naked crafting classes and was immediately thinking about superglue on sensitive bits.

Am I right in think the naturist/nudist community is very quick to spot who is "one of their own" and who is a dodgy intruder?

It’s not a safe space. It’s an event overpopulated by men so they’re saying only bookings from female and NB people, which is utterly pointless as the OP has proved.

It's not a "safe space". The event already has men attending, but closed entries to men in order to try and even up the numbers of women attending.

Non-binary isn't defined, and if the OPs partner feels non-binary then who is to deny what his identity is in that moment? How can any other person determine if someone is "lying" about their internal gender identity?

You can't lie about your gender because gender is a social construct where as sex is biological. A non binary person can be male or female as non binary is a made up term to describe someone who doesn't conform to gender norms.

It's only a safe space in that genuine nudists only are welcome. Males and females will be attending.

I suppose since biology is meant to be a social construct, no one will be able to tell what kind of human beings the genitalia belong to unless they are wearing pronoun badges? 🤣

There is no indication that their are separate gendered spaces so no idea what you're talking about.

Surely the point of non binary is that if someone says they are, they are? If a group or organisation wants to buy into that sort of thing, they have to abide by it. They can't then turn round & say that only female & homosexual male NBs are allowed. Because that would be... hateful?
