A female academic has posed this question

Please explain to me how a fully transitioned trans woman, who has breasts and a vagina, has orgasms and experiences the sex act in the same way my body does, should be forced to put male, not female, on the census, just because that is on her birth certificate.

Jane Clare Jones has already been on the case, but I thought we might also enjoy taking that apart.

No point responding though- she'll just block.

That doesn't surprise me. Thanks, I don't have twitter I just wanted to have a nosey.

I googled neo-vaginas and very much regret doing so Sad

I used to get confused when my politics teacher would say “Sex is biology, but gender is a social construct” and this was almost 11 years ago. I still don’t understand it Blush

A neovagina needs to be dilated twice a day for about an hour at a time to prevent the scars from the skin graft inside the vagina from constricting. And it's not like a dildo, there's nothing pleasurable about it, they're these plastic tubes that come in 3-4 sizes, and they need to be swapped out to stretch the canel to the right size and depth.
This process decreases to a few days a week after the first couple of years, and you may only need one or two dilator sizes, but it's something that needs to be done regularly for the rest of their lives.

Hello Ann

Darling, get your timestamps right. The "pile-on" already happened. And until now, I didn't even link to the poor darling.

This is women talking. We do that. With our knitting. Grin

So Eteri, I know that you may not know, but I have seen on another thread that you have discussed the neo-vagina.

There are no muscle walls is there?

And it is not self-lubricating is it? If so, where is the mucus produced?

Thanks.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/03/2021 16:43

If the female academic has orgasms which can be replicated by someone who has no clitoris, no muscular vagina and no uterus then she's missing out.Confused
(Its not just me re the uterus is it? Painful during pregnancy but normally part of the overall thing)

Helleofabore · 10/03/2021 16:45

And I am sure that no transwomen experience that nausea with sex at times of the month when the cervix is low either. That is a very interesting side effect of the cervix.

Quite

Especially when it goes too deep and it’s painful.

PotholeParadies · 10/03/2021 16:46

By the way, Ann, you know your mate has 45k+ followers, yes?

Her tweets aren't a well kept secret.

Wow. That's awful.

Yep, that sounds fuck all like a woman's experience.

Biology is a fundamentalist movement.

I thought something was wrong with me for decades until I read about the 'low cervix' effect. Again .... just another thing that was never discussed for ever.

And women feeling they somehow inferior and isolated.

LurkyMcLurkLurk · 10/03/2021 16:54

Isn't it a bit transphobic that she is only concerned about the impact on fully transitioned transwomen? I thought surgery was not necessary to qualify for womanhood? And where is her concern for transmen?

SunsetBeetch · 10/03/2021 16:54

I think probably the majority of us don't even use twitter, except to read things.

toolatetofixate · 10/03/2021 17:04

Vaginas are self cleaning. How does that work with a neo-vagina?

Don't mean to derail the thread I'm just Hmmat the assertion that a surgically created "vagina" is being compared to genuine female anatomy and experience.

nauticant · 10/03/2021 17:05

I'm not sure that "we'll lie about our sex and there's nothing you can do about it" is quite the gotcha they think it is.

Yes, we know you're going to lie. Yes, we know the authorities won't make a martyr out of you. But here you are acknowledging the reality you would like to silence us over.

Helleofabore · 10/03/2021 17:08

toolatetofixate

I don't consider it a derail. It is more of a gathering of facts without interfering with predictive ads.... I really don't want predictive ads about peens....

Whether it's self-lubricating depends upon the technique used. The penial inversion actually does have some level of self-lubrication because the peritoneum membrane that it is grafted to naturally produces fluid. Is it enough for comfortable penetration? No, especially considering a neovagina is more delicate than a natalvagina.

I don't actually know about the muscle? I would assume so, but would it contract like a natalvagina? Probably not.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/03/2021 17:09

Do they worry about/hope to get pregnant?

Not the same as me then.

Helleofabore · 10/03/2021 17:10

But here you are acknowledging the reality you would like to silence us over.

It really is mind-boggling isn't it. The right to fully deny reality.

What with the nesting of comments and the character limit, it's horrible for having a conversation. I like here, where we can break off to discuss bread pudding.

Iwishihadariver how is the pudding?
